PAHs, on the other hand, were no longer detected in most of the fish samples (demersal/shellfish/crabs and pelagic) collected last April 17, except for pelagic fish samples from Clusters 3 (Pinamalayan, Gloria, Bansud), Cluster 4 (Bongabong, Roxas, Mansalay, Bulalacao), and Cluster 5 (Puerto Galera, Baco, San Teodoro).

These pelagic fish samples still contained minimal levels of less toxic PAHs, but the most toxic ones were no longer detected. Generally, the recent analyses showed lower PAH levels compared to the previous test results.

THE Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Tuesday announced that 17 municipalities in Zamboanga Peninsula were declared as drugcleared communities.

The DILG also commended these municipalities for their successful anti-drug campaign in connection with the regional launch of the government’s revitalized antidrug campaign dubbed “Buhay ay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) program. THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) has seized more than 560 grams of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride worth P3.8 million which were concealed and misdeclared as eyelash sets, electric hair dryers, and electric hairbrushes at the DHL Express Gateway warehouse in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio said the contraband was found due to suspicious images noticed by Customs x-ray officers. A physical examination was conducted by Customs examiners, and yielded 560 grams of suspected shabu with a total estimated street value of P3.8 million.

“Both the shipper and the consignee are currently undergoing investigation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for possible violation of RA 9165 and RA 10863, also known as the Customs Modernization Act (CMTA),” the BOC chief said. Joel E. Zurbano

His remains will be brought to the House of Representatives on Thursday, 11 May 2023 for a Requiem Mass and Necrological Service in his Honor at 9:00 a.m. and then will be brought to the Capitol Building, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

Interment will be on Saturday, 13 May 2023 at a private farm in Anting, Dupax del Norte after the 9:00 a.m. mass at the St. Anne Parish.
