Meet Misters of Filipinas Academy’s first 5 housemates

first five qualifiers of the Misters of Filipinas Academy were announced during the recent birthday party of Carlo Morris Galang president of PEPPS Foundation, Inc., organizers of Misters of Filipinas pageant, held at Palacio de Manila in Manila City.

HELD at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the theme of the 2023 Met Gala is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, which pays tribute to the legendary German designer, and photographer, who passed away in early 2019.

To create the exclusive look for Colombian singer, Maluma Marco Falcioni, SVP of Creative Direction at Hugo Boss, drew inspiration directly from a Spring/Summer lookbook that was photographed by Karl, himself, in 1998, for HUGO BOSS.

Maluma’s tailored ensemble for the event is comprised of a sleek plastron and matching trousers, crafted entirely in sophisticated, grey-hued leather. The defining accessory is a fringeembellished, silk scarf. It is subtly embroidered with Karl Lagerfeld’s words from a handwritten note addressed to Werner Baldessarini – former Creative Director and Designer of Hugo Boss – back in 1998, the same year he shot the black-and-white lookbook. Evoking the essence, texture, and pared-back palette of the individual images captured in the photographs taken by Karl Lagerfeld, the overall feel of the look is one of muted elegance.

“We’re thrilled to be back at the

Met Gala and proud to share this little bit of history with Karl. His simple, yet modern approach to the photography that inspired Maluma’s look is very much on par with the way we currently view our campaigns. It’s an inspiring, more inclusive, and visionary approach that showcases sophisticated clothes for real people, framed in a beautiful light,” said Falcioni.

In keeping with this black-andwhite inspiration from Karl Lagerfeld’s photography, highly polished looks were also created for NFL player, Patrick Mahomes, and his wife, Brittany The former wore sleek loafers, doublebreasted Boss silk, double-breasted, peak-lapel suit, and a crisp shirt with a hidden placket, while the latter wore a stunning floor-length dress in white with silver-toned embroidered detailing. Likewise, Brand Ambassador and Italian tennis phenom, Matteo Berrettini, also attended the gala wearing an exclusive, custom-made BOSS look.

In the Philippines, Boss is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc., and is located at Greenbelt 5, Newport Mall, Rustan’s Makati, Rustan’s Shangri-La, ShangriLa Plaza East Wing, and online at Trunc.ph, Rustans.com, and Zalora.

‘Fast X’ to furiously rev up cinemas nationwide

THE Fast and Furious franchise has enthralled global audiences for two decades, evolving from street racing to heists and espionage, while staying true to fast cars, action, and family.

With Fast X, the franchise delivers all the essential elements and more in the franchise’s epic final chapters. Directed by Louis Leterrier, the all-star cast includes returning actors Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Ludacris Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Jason Statham, John Cena, and Scott Eastwood, along with exceptional newcomers such as Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, Alan Ritchson, Daniela Melchior, and legendary Oscar winner Rita Moreno

In Fast X, Dom Toretto has a new responsibility – his son Little Brian –and faces a dangerous foe, Dante, unlike any other adversary he has faced. Dante, portrayed by Momoa, has analyzed and learned from Dom for twenty years, making him a formidable and unpredictable enemy.

“Dante was dead for two minutes and came back to avenge his family,” producer Jeff Kirschenbaum explains.

“He’s taking Dom’s reputation, fracturing his family, and framing the entire team.”

Momoa was thrilled to play the villain in the franchise.

“I hadn’t played a villain in about 10 years, and the opportunity to have that role in this franchise meant so much to me,” Momoa says. “It was fun to figure out his specific balance of playfulness and psychopathy. Dom doesn’t understand how tricky and sly Dante is, and how Dante has duped him into his web.”

Star and producer Vin Diesel reflects on the franchise’s impact, saying, “When we made the first movie, we filmed it in L.A. and it was a regional story. We never anticipated its global implications or appeal. We certainly didn’t anticipate that we would travel all over the world and take the theme of family around it.”

Fast X a Universal Pictures International presentation, will race into cinemas nationwide starting May 17. Advance tickets are available at your favorite cinemas nationwide. Follow Universal Pictures PH on Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates.
