THE country’s largest association of real estate and housing industry stakeholders is preparing for its 50th founding anniversary this year. The year-long golden jubilee anniversary of the Chamber of Real Estate & Builders’ Associations, Inc. (CREBA) will be launched at a grand event on March 16 at the Conrad Hotel Manila. CREBA is the Philippine umbrella organization of the real estate and housing sector composed of property developers, builders, contractors, suppliers and manufacturers of construction materials and other professionals and entities. Among the activities lined up is a Visayas-Mindanao Regional Housing Conference to be held in General Santos City from April 26-28. The high-point of the CREBA calendar for the year will be from September 26-28, where members, as well as speakers, both from the local and global real estate arena, will convene for its annual national convention, expo and gala night at the SMX Convention Center and Conrad Hotel in Pasay City. Torre Lorenzo, DLS-CSB spotlight young artists Manila scene, ‘abstract diversity’ theme lead digital mural contest winners
TORRE Lorenzo Development Corporation (TLDC) recently announced the winners of its Manila Digital Mural Art Contest, in partnership with the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB). The following emerged as winners: Januel Adrei Pitoy for “This is Manila” (Shown here) and John Benedict Mangco”s “Abstract Diversity” (Inset photo), and Albertha Dorado & Mikhayla Renee Harlea for “Larga”.
The winning entries will be translated to actual murals, or stickers, that will adorn the various public spaces in TLDC’s upcoming serviced residence, lyf Malate Manila.
“Our aim for these digital murals is to showcase the rich culture of Manila and put a spotlight on young artists,” said Cathy Casares-Ko, TLDC’s Chief Operations Officer. “Our artists from DLS-CSB did not disappoint. These winning murals are poised to bring an authentic travel experience to lyf’s future guests.” the #QCTrashToCashback project, an initiative of the city to achieve a zero waste lifestyle. Pasig City is also known as ‘the green city’ because of its various environment-friendly initiatives to protect its waterways and greeneries.
Pronounced ‘life’ or ‘live your freedom’, lyf Malate Manila features hip, co-living spaces designed for the next generation travelers. The winners will receive cash prizes in a formal awarding ceremony. The winning murals will be installed in lyf’s shared spaces including the Connect Lounge, Coffee Kiosk, Social Lounge, Private Working Pods, and Roof Deck located at Torre Lorenzo Malate along Malvar St. corner Vasquez St. in Malate, Manila. The winning artworks were selected for its meaningful message, and creative interpretation of Manila City’s unique character.

REVOLUTIONIZING THE PH CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY. Konstruk recently celebrated its first year of providing businesses in the construction industry with an accessible online platform to buy and sell products. The “E-Hardware ng Bayan” has made shopping for construction supplies easier for consumers, while providing a patform for merchants, manufacturers, and suppliers in the Home Improvement and Construction industry to expand their businesses online. Konstruk’s user base grew to more than 10,000 users in the first year, with a current engagement rate of more than 50% in the country. Konstruk plans to onboard provincial merchants that promote community selling – helping boost the local economy by empowering small businesses and promoting community engagement. It plans to onboard merchants in the future and become central office to manage micro Konstruk operations based on provinces. The company will collaborate with local government units (LGUs) in different provinces and launch their operations in key provinces outside Metro Manila, starting with provinces in Luzon, then Visayas and Mindanao.
