Iligan City lass is PH’s bet at Miss Charm International 2023 in Vietnam

ANNABELLE McDonnell, Miss Universe

Philippines 2022 first runner-up, is currently in Vietnam competing in the ongoing Miss Charm International 2023. The 22-year-old FilipinoBritish beauty, born in the United Kingdom and raised in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, was appointed by Miss Charm International and local franchise holder Empire TV as the country’s representative.

McDonnell, who’s pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Consular and Diplomatic Affairs at De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, works as an assistant at Iligan City Mayor’s Office. An abandoned child, she worked hard to fulfill her dream to become a beauty queen.

“I can’t believe that I’m living out my dream of representing the Philippines in an international pageant,” said the former Miss Iligan 2018 and Miss Lanao del Norte 2019.

Miss Charm International, a pageant that aims to promote Vietnamese culture and tourism to the world, was launched in 2019 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will have its final night on February 16, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Jessy Mendiola

Childbirth is neither easy nor pretty, but Jessy made it look otherwise. With a complete set of lashes and curled hair, the actress ensured she was picture-ready after going into labor. She sets a good example that while motherhood requires a lot of time and energy, mothers should still look out for themselves and indulge in things that make them happy. It also helps that Jessy has her humorous and doting husband, Luis Manzano, to help her raise their firstborn.

…are not talking about

Willie Revillame

Speculations about problems circulating AllTV have been abuzz on social media lately, but the renowned host decided to clear the air. He explained that Wowowin is having renovations to accommodate a live audience soon, and he further lamented how the public is cheering at their alleged failure as a network. Now, where have we seen similar circumstances before?

Donnalyn Bartolome

After that “be grateful for work” incident early this 2023, Donnalyn is back at it again with a similar narrative. This time, she’s telling a netizen to be thankful that she has someone who can give her children. Possibly a nod to Donnalyn’s love life, or lack of one, some people found the remark a little tonedeaf because of many possible circumstances, not all of them pretty. Maybe it’s time Donnalyn dropped the grateful script and tried something else for encouragement.
