ORMER Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was heading for a landslide victory in the race for the presidency on Monday, getting over 28.03 million votes, a partial and unofficial tally showed early Tuesday dawn.

With at least 87.74 percent of the election returns processed, Marcos had more than twice the number of votes for his main rival, Vice President Leni Robredo, who had over 13.38 million votes. His running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, was also solidly in front with over 28.14 million votes,

Duterte-Carpio starts 4-day thanksgiving caravan today By Maricel V. Cruz VICE presidential frontrunner Sara Duterte-Carpio on Monday said will meet with support groups starting today for a four-day thanksgiving caravan to personally convey her gratitude for their unwavering efforts throughout her campaign. “Tomorrow, our thanksgiving caravan will start so I will go to Manila,” she said in an interview after she casted her vote at the Daniel R. Frontrunners in local elections By Joel Zurbano and Rio Araja VICE Mayor Honey Lacuna is expected to succeed Francisco Domagoso as the next Manila mayor as partial returns suggested she has won more than half the votes cast, with nearly 100 percent of election returns transmitted Monday night. With 90.32 percent of Manila’s election returns transmitted, Lacuna got 485,539 votes, followed by Alex Lopez – 151,334; Amado Bagatsing – 103,413; Christy Lim – 13,468; and Elmer Jamias – 3,579. Incumbent San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora is poised for a second three-year term.

Zamora, running under the ruling PDP-Laban party, gathered 66,054 votes, against his opponent Jun Usman, who has 9,330 votes. Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto is assured of re-election with a landslide victory with 82.52 percent of election returns transmitted. According to data from Comelec's transparency server, Sotto got 276,557 votes, while his rival Vice Mayor Iyo Bernardo got 37,953. Former Pasig Rep. Dodot Jaworski, Sotto’s ally, is leading the vice-mayoral race with 169,523 votes, followed by Pasig Councilor Mario “Junjun” Concepcion Jr with 72,429 votes, and former Councilor Christian Sia with 62,196.
