Can the public finally enjoy Halloween and Christmas parties? Not so fast, the Department of Health said Saturday. Even with COVID-19 restrictions eased in Metro Manila and some provinces, “pandemic parties” and similar celebrations should only be shared with family, as inviting people from outside the home may still carry

risks. “If it is a mass gathering, it’s still not allowed unless you celebrate it within your family bubble. We just have to follow safety protocols,” Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario

The daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte did not share details on what they discussed in their meeting. Martin Romualdez, meanwhile, is a cousin of the Marcoses. Earlier Saturday, Duterte-Carpio also posted a photo of her with Sen. Imee Marcos in Cebu City. “Manang Imee how are you? Thank you for the continuous support,” the mayor said in Filipino, without further details. Duterte-Carpio arrived in Cebu on Friday, wearing a green hoodie with a print that said: “Sara All 2022.” Though Duterte-Carpio earlier filed her certificate of candidacy for reelection as Davao City mayor, there has been speculation might run for president via substitution, as her father did in 2016. THE Philippine government continues to scale up its vaccination rollout through the “Vax to the Max” strategy it is implementing together with the private sector. The country’s rollout for the youth sector also continues to gain momentum, as 23 hospitals in Metro Manila are now conducting simultaneous inoculations of minors within the 12 to 17 age group. According to National Task Force Against COVID-19 chief implementer Carlito Galvez Jr., the government is hoping other vaccine manufacturers will apply for an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) with the Food and Drug Administration so their vaccines can be used to inoculate children. On Friday, 698,600 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines procured by the private sector arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1. CONTINUED ON 3A
