HERE will be no Christmas parties and other merrymaking activities in Metro Manila this year to prevent COVID-19 from spreading. Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Jose Arturo Garcia Jr. said Metro Manila mayors will issue a resolution recommending a ban on all holiday parties in the National Capital Region while it is under a general community quarantine (GCQ). Velasco pushes for Cha-cha, eyes longer term for solons

Upon instructions from Speaker Lord Allan Velasco, the small committee, in charge of institutional amendments to the proposed P4.5 trillion 2021 national budget, approved a budget increase of P5.5 billion for the Department of Health (DoH). “This is to support President Rodrigo Duterte’s program to strengthen the country’s health care system.
