HE military on Monday blamed the Abu Sayyaf terrorist group for twin explosions in Jolo, Sulu that killed 15 persons and wounded 76 soldiers and civilians.
It was in apparent retaliation for a manhunt on suspected bombers that led to the death of four Army agents at the hands of policemen in a controversial shooting last June, the regional military commander said. The explosions happened around

Scrapping of PhilHealth case rates, IRM pushed THE head of the House committee looking into the fund irregularities in Philippine Health Insurance Corp. on Monday called for the scrapping of the insurer’s “case rates” and its interim reimbursement mechanism or IRM for hospitals.

MALACANANG of Monday assured the public that President Rodrigo Duterte will step down once his term expires in June 2022, and said it does not support a private initiative to put up a revolutionary government to give additional powers to the Chief Executive. While Duterte has not backed out of his promise of a federal government, Palace spokesman Harry Roque said Duterte is averse to the idea of holding on to power after his term expires in 2022, and will instead focus to fight the
