MERICAN footwear label Skechers has found the formula to appealing to the perpetually on-the-go and always stylish millennials: shoes should be trendy and comfortable, easy to style and easy to wear. As one of the leaders in street style revolution, Skechers has brought the sophisticated Los Angeles style—laid back and effortlessly stylish—to its latest collection Skecher Street. Each pair of slip-ons and lace-ups in the collection features looks straight off the streets of the City of Angels and incorporates Skechers Air-Cooled Memory Foam technology, resulting in comfortable shoes that can match any OOTD sans the worries of blisters and sore feet. In the Skechers Move In Style fashion show held recently, the brand showcased how comfortable footwear—that are a dream to walk in— don’t have to look like your usual trainers or running shoes. Gerald Anderson together with Sanya Lopez, Kaila Estrada, Barbie Imperial, Mikee Agustin, Nikko Natividad, and Teejay Marquez strutted the runway at SM Mega Fashion Hall wearing the street-ready collection. The celebrity brand ambassadors showcased comfort and effortless style as if they were walking down the street and not on a rather intimidating stage. Anderson stood out wearing the shiny and fresh-looking Skechers Black Moda, a fun fusion of good ‘ol leather lace-up shoes studded with rhinestones. Lopez showed how women can pull off looks wearing the same style in white and pink. One of the fashion show’s models, Ally Munda, shared her experience walking down a runway, in most of which she had to wear uncomfortable footwear. Munda, who walked in Skechers White Uplift with an easy slip on and off feature and pom-pom zipper, said that after almost 12 hours of wearing the shoes, she still felt like she never got out of bed. “I love it that they are fashionable, yet comfy,” she enthused. Even the event’s host, blogger and model Janeena Chan gushed about how it felt like she was stepping on clouds wearing a pair of slip-on sequined stunner, Skechers Double Up Shiny Dancer in silver. Other styles include Skecher Street Downtown Fresh’d Out, Skecher Street Sleek Street, and Skecher Street Rise Up. –Marjelle Sy

BULLETIN BOARD

UST RECEIVES FIRST-EVER CERTIFIED GUEST SERVICE PROPERTY DISTINCTION THE American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) has conferred the University of Santo Tomas (UST) with the Certified Guest Service Property distinction on the back of the latter’s commitment to training its hospitality management educators and staff. UST’s College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM) certified its faculty members, staff, and, soon, students working in the university’s on-site hotel through the AHLEI’s Guest Service Gold Program. The staff received the Certified Guest Service Professionals

(CGSP) pin and certificate. Earning the Certified Guest Service Property distinction is one of many steps UST is taking to ensure that the school is globally competitive. “The university continues to strengthen degree programs in order to facilitate academic mobility for both faculty members and students. This will help develop their competencies by exposing them to best practices in the world,” Rev. Fr. Herminio V. Dagohoy, O.P., Turn to E2
