The South Midland Secretary wrote and invited Colin Moram to join the "Comps Committee" from 22nd January 1961, and he has been a member ever since, now completing 60 years; Soon after this magazine is published, the 15th March will be his 90th Birthday.

Colin's riding career included 3 Gold's in the Welsh 3 Day, 3 Southern Experts, 4 ISDT's with mixed results; 17th in Clubmans IOM TT.

Colin has given service to motorcycling since an early age, but his contribution since joining Comp's has been very special. Colin has been a member of Farnham Royal Motorcycle club for numerous years and is currently President, turning up to the club committee meetings regularly, even now.

As a member of South Midland Management, Colin held office as chairman until 1986, and until about 9 years ago he was a Centre Steward and National Steward.

Through the traditional route of Club Official, to Centre Management, to ACU he joined the Motocross committee, which he then chaired for 3 years, subsequently chairing the ACU Technical Committee, following Neville Goss. This lead to him joining the FIM Technical Committee in 1979 for some 20 years including 15 as Chairman. In that time he was involved in formulating the Technical rules for Superbikes and the change from Scrambles into Motocross, and, working with the RACMSA, worked hard on upgrading helmet specifications, so important in our joint sports.

Colin's work within the ACU Rugby and the FIM may not have given him recognition to the riding masses, but it has been rewarded by a Vice Presidency of the ACU and an Honorary Vice Presidency of the FIM. He is one of the "back room boys" to whom we are deeply indebted.

Colin is also a very quiet man who says little about his life so this note has been drawn from many areas and if I am incorrect please let me know.
