Kent Speedway have received news from Italy that Nico Covatti is no longer available to the Kings. Unfortunately they have been dealt another blow much nearer home. Rob Ledwith has employment issues, as many have in this retched time, is now unable to commit to a full season at Championship level.

His enthusiasm remains as high as ever and he will continue as Captain of the Royals at National League level. Rob said "I am sorry not to be able to complete a full programme of Championship speedway, but will always be available to the Kings in an emergency."

So with now two team spots to fill, Team Manager Chris Hunt and Co-Promotor Len Silver have been in constant contact with the Kings' Team Captain Scott Nicholls as to the best way forward. They expect to be able to name the full team around the time TSM goes to print if all hopes and plans come together.

With the Speedway Control Bureau (SCB) naming the start of May as the hopeful date for the return of British Speedway, this will have a negative impact on the Kent Clubs plan to start on Easter Weekend.

Line up for 2021 announced!

Having just received the official stamp of approval, Kent Kings can now reveal the full Kings line up for this season.

1. Scott Nicholls, 2. Cameron Heeps, 3. Paul Starke, 4. Paul Hurry, 5. Tom Bacon, 6. Ben Morley, 7. Daniel Gilkes.

Team Captain Scott Nicholls has been very involved with team set up and said, ."Kent is a new challenge for me with exciting times ahead. Bringing in my very good friend, Paul Hurry, was a no brainer when we lost Nico. He is now in training with me and we are both working very hard to be as fit as we can. I know he is arranging to get two very fast engines too. I can't wait to be skipper of the Kings".

The Championship League team are working on the basis of opening the season in May. That will, of course, depend on what is allowed, but a fixture list will be published soon.

Team Manager Chris Hunt was delighted that the team was approved and said, "Every single one of the seven are eager to ride for us and we have a good mix of experience and youth. For myself, I must say I am now content that we can give a good account of ourselves as we enter a new chapter for the Kings in speedway's second tier".
