Into another year, let's really hope we can all get back to our sport! Trials were getting back in a small way but "tier four" has messed that up. Nice to see that Alicia Robinson is the Pinhard winner for 2020, let's all wish her a successful 2021 in all her trials. There have not been many lady winners of that prestigious trophy so let's hope there can be more from all disciplines.

TSM have received another article on Nigel Coopers Russian adventure, a well travelled man Nigel.

I know that a chap from Cambridge Matchless did a similar trip a while ago, I think I would be too scared to attempt anything like that, though I did enjoy my trip to America a few years ago even though I was riding a GS BMW off road then! I did find riding on really sandy ground tricky, but my American pal Dick said "lean back and keep the power on". The trouble with that is you seemed to be going faster and faster. Riding in Canada a few years ago I got a telling off from another mate John, for not "lightening up", I got the XR 400 stuck in a very loose track of stones, after my "telling off" I only fell off twice more!

By the time you read this the Dakar Rally will be over, how can riders ride over 7000 km with over 4000 of them being "competitive" and stay in the saddle, tough guys (and ladies) those. As I said above I was not much good in the sand though I did make some nice sandcastles when the kids were small! Let's hope the "Brits" can do well in the Dakar, well done those folk. A nice quiz in the Christmas issue of TMX, I'm ashamed to say that I only got two answers right, upon looking at the answers your mind says "oh yes", (grey matter fading I 'spose). I must pay more attention in future, I'm sure they said that when I was at school. There were some good articles in the Christmas issue, good reports on the motocross and trials championships, both here and abroad. A good Xmas read! Andy Wood writes‌.. This must be the first time for more than 70 years that a journal for the Centres has not contained regulations for forthcoming events. Not withstanding the current situation we are keen to publish any news of your clubs activities. There will be times in the not too distant future when your planned events will be able to take place and you will be able to manage any restrictions that may be required. So a positive outlook is required, send us your news of all your events social and sporting, we all need something to look forward to.Â

Coronavirus (Covid-19): ACU Motorcycle Sport and Travel Following the Prime Minister's address to the nation early last month, it is important to emphasise the clear message by the UK Government that we must all Stay At Home. The single most important action we can all take is to stay at home to protect the NHS and save lives. ACU members should be aware that current UK Government advice states that we should all minimise the time spent outside our homes, but we can leave our homes to exercise. This should be limited to once per day, and we should not travel outside the locality of where we live. Exercise can be taken in a public outdoor place: • By yourself • With the people you live with • With your support bubble (if you are legally permitted to form one) • In a childcare bubble where providing childcare
