Alicia Robinson
My name is Alicia Robinson, I am 18 years old and I have been riding motorcycle trials since the age of four. I am a member of my local trials club, North Berks MCC, who run a variety of events from a beginner to advanced level. My first motorbike was a rev and go 50cc, called an Xispa, I then had a GasGas 50cc which was followed by a Beta 80cc, I rode my Beta 80cc from nine to 12 years old, and transitioned to a Beta 125cc at thirteen. My current bike is a Beta 250cc.
My dad has always been a part of the motorcycle trials world, previously minding for the top level men riders but as my talent has continued to grow he is now my full time minder and mechanic. My passion for this sport grew as I got older and started to compete in the British Championships. I quickly grew to be as compassionate as my Dad, which lead me to compete in bigger International events, such as the European and World Championships.

In 2019 I competed in the full series of the FIM TrialGP Women2 World Championship, of which is an extremely competitive class of 18 riders from around the world. I travelled to Portugal and France for the first and second rounds of the 2019 Championship, picking up a 6th and 9th position, after this disappointing start to the championship I was determined to improve my result. I pushed myself to the limit during training at home, having early mornings and late evenings on the bike and spent a lot of time in the gym with my personal trainer. The final round of the World Championship was held in the urban town of La Nucia, on the outskirts of Benidorm. As there was a large entry in the Trial2 Women's Class, I knew I had to work tremendously hard to gain myself a good result. During the trial temperatures reached 28 degrees on the steep embankments of the Spanish mountains, I did not tire all day, and managed to keep myself at the peak of my performance to take my first ever World Championship Round Victory. As I finished the event I was greeted with a huge applause and many congratulations from the spectators and fellow competitors. The news of me winning brought tears to my eyes, I have been working exceptionally hard for many years to achieve this goal and now I have my eyes set on winning the FIM TrialGP Women2 Championship.

I love this sport, because not only does it allow me to ride my bike against the worlds best riders, but it has also taken me to many amazing places across the world. I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to ride in countries such as America and Japan, as well as other beautiful countries in Europe. Over the winter period I put in lots of hours training on and off my bike, focusing on my fitness and strength. With the uncertainty of Covid-19 and every competition being cancelled due to lockdown, this meant I could not train on my bike for a couple of months. This meant I had to train from home, on my pushbike and doing fitness in the garden. As the lockdown rules were eased, I had the opportunity to go and compete in the Spanish Championships in July. This was a good experience, and enabled me to feel comfortable on the bike ahead of starting the World Championships this year. This September will see me and my father travelling to Isola 2000, France, Pobladura de Las Regueras, Spain and Sant Julia de Loria, Andorra for the revised FIM world Championship, where I will be trying my hardest to take podium positions.
None of this would be possible without my amazing sponsors and family who put their time and effort into me and my greatest passion, enabling me to be the best I can be.
