But this FEMA flier was not issued in the 1950s when, where I went to elementary school, P.S. 136 in Queens, we were issued dog tags to wear so we could be identified in the event of a nuclear apocalypse and regularly did “duck-and-cover” exercises, ducking under our desks. But this was 2022 and the FEMA flier was relatively recent: it was dated August 2020.

Large exposures can cause radiation sickness,” and then “Fallout” which “is radioactive, visible dirt and debris raining down that can cause sickness to those who are outside.”
Under a heading “Bright Flash,” it said that “can cause temporary blindness for less than a minute.” Then there is the “Blast Wave”
Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, an international agreement to abolish nuclear weapons, was adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2017—with 122 nations in favor. Banned would be the development, testing, production, stockpiling, stationing, transfer, use and threat of use of nuclear weapons. “Let’s eliminate these weapons before they eliminate us,” said UN SecretaryGeneral Antonio Guterres.
The big problem: the so-called “nuclear weapons states,” notably

New York will be in the postseason this year and Gerrit Cole will have yet another chance to show Yankees fans, and all of baseball that he is indeed the ace the Yankees signed. His numbers say he's an ace, and the Bombers better hope he looks like one in a few weeks.
BY CHUCK T. Fantasy Sports
Gerrit Cole with the New York Yankees in 2020 spring training camp

THE ROTOMILLTM
Of course there are still four (4) weeks left to the baseball season and already the team that has been in 1st place most of the way has just fallen out of 1st place and dropped to 3rd; but I think the guy still has a great shot as 5 points separates 3 teams in the running for a championship. I have seen this team make some fabulous mistakes down the stretch here though, I just hope he learned
bad outings, he lets up more home runs than most would like, and he certainly hasn't performed like the two aces across the city at times. But, Cole is still an ace in almost every sense of the word ace. What is missing from his Yankees 'ace' mantle piece though is the postseason, and let's be honest that is all the Bronx faithful care about.
Yankees fans are spoiled, this isn't a hot take, but their animosity for Gerrit Cole has made the fan base look worse than just spoiled, they look silly. For years Yankees fans screamed for Brian Cashman and ownership to go and get this team an 'ace'. Cashman failed to pull the trigger on a Justin Verlander deal, there were reports they weren't even in the conversation for names like Scherzer and Ohtani, and even this season it seems like they settled for Frankie Montas, instead of paying up for Luis Castillo. But, with all those failures to solidify the very top of the rotation, Cashman and company did pay up for an ace, and he is paying off.
Gerrit Cole is often the poster child for the angry Yankee fan to blame. He has

thing that I have no obvious regrets this year. Sure, I walked away with Lamar Jackson and Trevor Lawrence as my two quarterbacks, and although Jackson can be a suspect passer, he is still so valuable for his running prowess. Still, my pre-season research had him selected by me as a 3rd tier QB and while my favorite QB in Tier 4 was Joe Burrow, when Burrow got selected several picks ahead of me in the 6th round of our draft, that also signaled to me that it was time to now select Jackson. Again,

finishing just 5 K's short of the title last year. Cole checks every box.
This team has been cursed with pitching injuries down the stretch here. When you find yourself in such a situation, you double down and find some able-bodies starting pitchers and you build up your depth. Last week I mentioned that Trevor Rogers of Miami looked good after missing a month with a back injury. Well, he struck out 8 batters and walked none in 6 innings the other night. Yes, he gave up 3 earned runs and took a loss, but it was a solid start, and it qualified as a Quality Start as
First, we have to decide what an ace really is. For some it's a starter who goes out there and competes for the Cy Young year after year. In Cole's case that has been true since he's been signed. This season he won't win the award, and won't finish 2nd like he did last year, but he sits with the 7th best odds in the American League, and very well could have a top 5 finish again. Others will say that to be an ace you have to give the team innings, and rest the bullpen. Gerrit Cole checks that box with authority. Cole sits 2nd in the AL for innings pitched and last season finished 5th. Then there are those who want the dominance a true ace brings. Cole leads the league in strikeouts this season after
the other owners do serve as key indicators as to when you should take certain players.
So it is true that a week ago I wrote about not wanting to get stuck drafting Alvin Kamara and Austin Ekeler and I am happy to report that I was half successful. I did avoid taking Ekeler altogether but Kamala fell to the 3rd round of my new league’s draft and the value was too good to let go. Since Kamara was listed as a borderline late 1st round pick/early 2nd round pick the value was too appealing. This is the beauty of the next week after a fantasy football draft. Reviewing those presumptions that you made and how some of the moves made by the other owners change all of the dynamics for you.

In the 6th round, it is almost unheard of that someone would take their 2nd QB, so it felt almost natural that Jackson could still possibly last another round or two, but why chance it with 3 total teams not having taken their QB yet? So, in the days post draft, I almost feel better about the QB’s I landed than how I felt on draft night. Like I said, I am not used to feeling like this after most drafts, so it is a slightly different experience. I do feel great about the draft picks I made in the taxi rounds where I was no longer drafting for required slots and had an open board from which to choose. J.K. Dobbins, Amari Cooper, Noah Fant and the Washington Commanders Team Defense all felt like they had dropped fairly deep into the taxi round. I feel pretty good about all of them.

well. Nick Pivetta, J.T. Brubaker and German Marquez can fill in for a spot start or two for teams down the stretch here as well. The one thing you don’t do though is put in for a young outfielder playing in a Low Class A league. That is a fatal mistake and that is just what this owner did. Huge mistake.

something in the process. The first lesson is a dynasty league lesson and it is a profound one. Once you get past August 15th, if you are in contention, then you need to make the decision right then and there that you are a contender, and dynasty concerns need to fall by the wayside. A championship lasts forever, and it goes on your league trophy. Nobody remembers who came in 3rd place in any given season, but people will always remember the team that was in 1st place and blew it all in September.

LLCs are taxed as “pass-through” tax entities, meaning no income taxes are paid at the business level. Instead, business profit or loss passes through to the owners’ personal tax returns. By default, an LLC is taxed as sole proprietorships if there is only one member and as a partnership if more than one owner.People
are always surprised to learn that an S-Corporation is not a business entity in itself, but a tax classification. Both LLCs and corporations can choose to be taxed as an S-corp. An S-corp doesn't pay corporate income tax like a traditional C-corp - the dreaded double taxation. Like an LLC, it is a pass-through tax entity with income, losses, deductions, and credits reported on the owner's personal tax returns.

Navigating entity formation and the tax landscape is tricky and depends on the needs of the particular business. Consult an attorney or accountant before making such a far reaching decision. Always alert your estate planning attorney when starting a closely held business. An attorney can make sure your interests pass to your beneficiaries without interrupting the business. What is the difference between an LLC and a S-Corporation?
Not all LLCs qualify to be taxed as S-corps. The IRS sets strict requirements to qualify for S-Corporation status. An S-corp must be a US business with only US citizens/residents as owners. Neither LLCs, partnerships, or C-corps can be owners - and only certain types of trusts qualify. Additionally, an S-corp can have no more than 100 shareholders and only one class of stock/ownership.

latter is the source. As you can see from the diagram below, testing will need to be conducted at every vessel as these charges are not very powerful – just powerful enough to paralyze you. More sophisticated tests of the actual field within the water can also be carried out by trained professionals, but few of those are equipped for this type of

What Can I Do About It?
In the past, when we have written about “Man Overboard”, and about whether you need a lifejacket or not, the main thrust was all about safety of life at sea. But there is a little-known fact that you can drown right at the marina – in the most shocking way! It is called “ESD” – Electric Shock Drowning.
Drowning – Shocking!
The primary source of dangerous AC leakage current is shore power, originating on the dock or vessels plugged into it. At the dockside power source, if there is a nonfunctioning grounding system, or an improper grounding of the neutral-white power conductor or just unapproved wiring near the water, there can easily be a charge snaking through the waters of
might even convince the dock master to stage an “Electrical Safety Day” at the marina. Inducing (pun intended) boat owners to have their boats checked for ABYC Standards is a good thing, even if the boat’s electrical system itself is not contributing to ESD risk.

The most unnerving aspect is that if muscles are exposed to charged water, they can become paralyzed, making it impossible to swim or even breathe. Drowning happens just that much faster since obviously you can’t do anything to aid yourself.

the marina. Although these are all violations of the National Fire Protection Association’s PFPA 303 Fire Protection Standard for Marinas and Boatyards, it will be cold comfort for you if you reach into the water to retrieve your cap and your muscular system is shocked into paralysis. master to be sure that the marina itself is wired to ABYC and NFPA standards. A more sophisticated marina may have an inductive amp-clamp on hand. In the hands of someone who has been trained in its use, this can be used to identify potentially dangerous shore power leakage. Ask him to check vessel shore power periodically. No danger at the time of the test doesn’t mean no danger – it just means there’s no danger then and there. Again, never, ever, go into marina water. But if it does indicate leakage, the dock master can immediately address the issue by shutting down power to that vessel or a dock if the

Most mariners are not aware that such a danger even exists other than in the most blatant way. If there were an electrical cable thrashing about from a downed power wire, well, it is pretty obvious that whether that happens at the dock or in front of your house, this is a major danger. If it happens to knock you off the dock as it paralyzes you, you’re going to drown. But how about a charge as low 10 milliamps (.010 A)?

winning play Green Pastures. Dante had to create a heaven based on vision and auditory experience. The sights are presented as brilliant lights and a myriad of colors. As stated, Paradiso is the Cantica of Light. But Dante had a major problem writing an account of heaven. It was a challenge to convey the concept of doing an activity in perpetuity without getting bored. Too much of a good thing is too much of a good thing. No matter how good something is after a while it’s got to get monotonous.Hisdepiction of the Inferno was graphic, cruel, and gory. He made Purgatorio hopeful and interesting. There’s a lot you can do with the penitent souls on their way to heaven. But heaven? Heaven is the same thing day in and day out. Dante faced the challenge of offering the concept of eternity without being dull or monotonous. That’s why his grasp of Church History, the lives of the saints, and theology was such an important asset to him in writing about heaven.

The fixed stars comprise the eighth sphere. Outer space comprises the ninth which Dante calls Primum Mobile. This is the largest and swiftest sphere in his cosmology.

Dante’s Heaven
Dante for all in heaven these are total luminous experiences. Since light is the total encompassment of heaven, Dantean scholars have referred to the third book of the Divine Comedy as the “Cantica of Light.” The intellect is expressed through the conveyance of light. Dante’s Paradise is patterned after the teachings of Ptolemy. Each sphere represents a celestial body or bodies.
Heaven is a spiritual realm completely free from mortal senses. Dante Alighieri was the great 13th century classical Italian poet and author of the Divine Comedy, in which he narrates his journeys through hell, purgatory, and heaven. He makes it clear that in heaven, the elect have forgotten all earthly connections and exist only for the exalted joy of contemplating and singing the eternal praises of God. In Paradise the saved souls feel only love. They sense only beauty and their only activity is contemplation.Accordingto

difficulties in trying to depict a heaven of joy. He had to convey heaven so that it would be universally appealing. He had to present the type of pleasures that would be appropriate in heaven but would express a spiritual nature.
