Losquadro to Reveal Holtsville Hal’s Famous Prediction in Virtual Groundhog Day Ceremony Six more weeks of winter or an early spring? On Tuesday, Feb. 2, Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro will announce Holtsville Hal’s famous forecast in a virtual ceremony to stream live on Facebook.

According to tradition, if a groundhog sees its shadow after stirring from hibernation on Groundhog Day, there will be six more weeks of winter weather; if not, spring should arrive early.

Superintendent Losquadro will reveal Hal’s forecast at approximately 7:25 a.m.

William Floyd Elementary School Museum Day Thrives Despite Pandemic Despite the ongoing pandemic, William Floyd Elementary School found a way to continue the school’s beloved Museum Day, a fun and educational 17-year tradition that usually transforms the classrooms, hallways and gymnasium of the school into museums, laboratories and art galleries with visits from various Long Island educational institutions. So, on December 18, students enjoyed – for the first time – an entirely virtual Museum Day. Determined to provide her students with this opportunity this school year, school librarian Margaret Finne worked tirelessly to arrange for Long Island’s virtual institutions to present and collaborate virtually. She also arranged for new and exciting additions to the virtual program including the American Museum of Magic in Michigan and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., where students participated in a Lunar Rover and Habitat Design challenge.

Long Island’s Senate Republican Delegation Urges Gov. Cuomo to Aid Struggling Ice Rinks

Long Island Republican State Senators Anthony Palumbo (R,CNew Suffolk), Mario Mattera (2nd Senate District), Alexis Weik (3rd Senate District) and Phil Boyle (4th Senate District) today sent a letter to Governor Cuomo requesting that he immediately recategorize youth ice hockey’s risk level from “high” to “moderate.” This move would allow Long Island’s ice rinks to host nonchecking games.

The Senators argue that this simple change will help Long Island’s ice rinks survive the economic hardship created by the pandemic, while ensuring that the tradition of youth hockey continues throughout the region.

“Ice rinks throughout Long Island have taken necessary precautions to ensure that non-checking ice hockey can be played in a safe environment,” said Palumbo. “By simply recategorizing youth hockey from ‘high’ risk to ‘moderate,’ we can help save these struggling businesses and provide enjoyment for the Long Island’s youth hockey players and their families. It’s a win-win for the

region and our residents during these difficult times.”

DeStefano Calls Out Governor’s Failed Vaccine Rollout Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (R,C,I-Medford) called out Gov. Cuomo this week on his ineffective vaccine distribution plan.

“The governor’s vaccine roll out has been disappointing and even with its amended rules, the plan is still chaotic and confusing,” said DeStefano. “Countless constituents continue to express concerns, questions and frustrations. Gov. Cuomo needs to get this vaccine distributed as soon as possible. We cannot throw away such a valuable, lifesaving vaccine. We need action in these times of uncertainty.”

A drive-through COVID-19 vaccine location is expected to open in Jones Beach and a website has been created in order to make appointments. (See information below.) The pandemic has exacerbated the state’s budget deficit and caused financial hardship on businesses across the state, the Assemblyman said.

“Businesses will keep closing, people will continue to lose their jobs, homes and income,” DeStefano

continued. “The state is facing a massive budget deficit. If we don’t address the issues we are facing with the pandemic, we cannot move forward. We need a clear plan to reopen businesses and prevent more from shutting down. Pop up art shows with millionaires and costly green energy initiatives are not bold initiatives to help with the challenges so many New Yorkers are facing today. The vaccine is key to reopen New York state.”

The governor recently amended the rules regarding who qualifies.

Now people over 65 and public employees, as well as New Yorkers in Phases 1a and 1b, are eligible for the vaccine, but the list must be quickly expanded beyond that so all New Yorkers are covered.

Calling on the Governor Governor Cuomo, As New York State continues the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination plan in an effort to help end this pandemic, I strongly urge that you make more vaccinations available for the residents of Suffolk County and take into consideration utilizing more locations within the Town of Brookhaven for vaccination distribution.

Brookhaven Town has expressed willingness to allow the State to utilize all of their Senior Centers as vaccination centers. This has the potential to be a great resource in the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine. As the largest Town geographically with roughly half a million residents, the Town of Brookhaven is in need of a greater supply of vaccinations. By releasing more vaccines to our area and utilizing the facilities in the Town of Brookhaven, we are making more vaccines accessible to every Hamlet on both the north shore and south shore of Long Island.

It is also important that we work towards a more user-friendly system for vaccination appointments and distribution. Many of our residents who are eligible for the vaccination at this time such as senior citizens have difficulty using the computer and cannot be on hold for extended periods of time. It is unrealistic to have the entire state calling into one number to schedule vaccination appointments; we have already seen many issues with the call in system. If we are going to work towards ending this pandemic, having more access to vaccines will be a key factor.

I urge you to take into consideration expanding the availability of vaccines. By working together during in this difficult time, we will get through this pandemic and reopen New York.

Suffolk Legislature Modernizes Auditorium with Videoconferencing Upgrades

A project to modernize the auditorium in the Suffolk County Legislature’s William H. Rogers Building in Hauppauge has been completed, allowing for upgraded videoconferencing capabilities to meet the demands of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The technological improvements made to the Rose Caracappa Legislature Auditorium, where Suffolk lawmakers typically convene around a large horseshoe to hold meetings and vote on legislation, allow for either remote legislative meetings or hybrid legislative meetings with some legislators attending in person in Hauppauge and others participating remotely by videoconference.

“In a year where the world relied on technology more than ever before, the Suffolk County Legislature was no different,” said Presiding Officer Rob Calarco. “With 18 legislators and others who sit in and around our horseshoe, it has not been possible for all of us to meet in person while complying with COVID-19 safety guidelines, so holding virtual meetings has been critical to allowing for the safe continuance of government operations during the pandemic. With the technology upgrades made to our auditorium, we have been able to continue to hold legislative meetings effectively and safely and are now able to bring some legislators back into the horseshoe with room to social distance as others participate remotely.”

Since the onset of the pandemic, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been issuing executive orders exempting municipal boards from certain provisions of the state’s Open Meetings Law. The waiver has made it easier for municipalities to conduct meetings remotely at a time when meeting in person could be difficult or unsafe. When the waiver to the Open Meetings Law ends, Presiding Officer Calarco said, the upgrades to the legislature auditorium will help ensure that the body can still utilize videoconferencing moving forward.

“Since the legislature will likely need to operate remotely in at least some capacity for the foreseeable future, these upgrades give us the flexibility to continue to use videoconferencing in full compliance with the Open Meetings Law,” said Presiding Officer Calarco. “Videoconferencing is no longer the way of the future; it is the way of the present. Having the ability to use this technology in our auditorium could have many benefits in the long run.”

The Open Meetings Law allows for lawmakers to participate in legislative meetings by videoconference if certain

provisions are met. Presiding Officer Calarco has introduced legislation to set forth videoconferencing rules that comply with the law and that would allow lawmakers to participate in legislative meetings by videoconferencing from a public location.

“Suffolk County rose to the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, putting in place technology that enabled us to continue to do the work of the people,” said Majority Leader Susan A. Berland, cosponsor of a resolution to fund the project.

“These upgrades have and will continue to allow those who might not otherwise have the ability to participate in legislative proceedings the chance to voice their concerns. Now that we have this important technology in place, I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues to ensure that County government is increasingly accessible and transparent for all our constituents.”

“In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the effect it had on every aspect of our daily lives, the legislature needed to reimagine the way we conduct our meetings and upgrade the video equipment in our auditoriums,” added Legislator Jason Richberg, who also co-sponsored a resolution to help fund the project. “While the pandemic created the need, these upgrades will continue to be utilized far after this pandemic ends, and beyond. This upgrade brings us into the 21st century and will help provide transparency and make

The $300,000 project utilized funding that was diverted from other projects to reflect changed priorities after the pandemic hit. Because the technology upgrades were necessitated by the COVID emergency, Presiding Officer Calarco said the legislature will be submitting for reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Legislative leaders have made strides in upgrading technology over the last few

years. In 2016, a dynamic four-camera video streaming system replaced a fixed one-camera system in the Hauppauge auditorium, where the majority of the legislature’s meetings are held. Also that year, a camera system was installed in the Maxine S. Postal Auditorium at the Evans K. Griffing Building in Riverside to allow for video streaming when the legislature meets there. In early 2020, the legislature’s server and backup systems were upgraded to expand streaming services to include committee meetings, which previously were streamed with only audio.

BY KARL GROSSMAN The road to public power—to the creation of a Long Island Power Authority—was a tough one with the then Long Island Lighting Company powerful politically and aggressively fighting that here.

I recall a meeting of the Suffolk Legislature at which public power was focused upon. There was LILCO Vice President Ira Freilicher at the doorway to the meeting room of the Suffolk Legislature in Riverhead as I wrote about in my book Power Crazy—its title derived from LILCO’s plan to build seven to eleven nuclear power plants in Suffolk, indeed a power crazy scheme.

“What are you worried about? You may end up the vice president of TVA on Long Island,” I said kidding him, referring to the Tennessee Valley Authority, the nation’s largest publicly owned utility.

The initial nuclear power plant LILCO had been constructing, at Shoreham, is a “major threat to life,’ he said.

Mr. Barbash pulled out a report done for Citizens to Replace LILCO by the Energy Systems Research Group of Boston. The report said a Long Island Power Authority “would not share LILCO’s corporate imperative that Shoreham operate.”

It was the early 1980s and that day the measure seeking not-for-profit public power here failed. “It shows once again that LILCO is far more than an innocent utility in Suffolk County,” said then Legislator Gregory Blass of Jamesport.

“It is a major political power and there continues a close relationship between LILCO and county government.”

Meanwhile, in the 1980s, Maurice (Murray) Barbash, chairman of Citizen to Replace LILCO, was working away at his office a mile from the waterfall on Sumpwams Creek in Babylon Village.

The waterfall, through hydropower, was the source of energy for the first utility on Long Island, the Babylon Electric Lighting Company (subsequently absorbed by LILCO).

There were public power entities on Long Island. In 1899, the Village of Greenport inaugurated its public power system by purchasing a power plant from a company that was started a dozen years before. James Monsell, then Greenport superintendent of public utilities, regularly spoke of it providing electricity as a service, not as a business.

But that vision is now at a crossroads.

Justin Fields was the consensus second best quarterback coming into the season and he looked really good against Clemson.

But it’s also hard to forget that he

The last time that happened was when the Lions grabbed Calvin Johnson in 2007, and only five wide receivers have been picked within the first five picks of the first round since then. With a lot of cash to burn under the cap and plenty of high profile WRs on the market (Robinson, Golladay, Godwin, Juju, etc) the thought is pay for one and use the draft for another need. I for one am in that camp. Smith is dynamic and a special player but there are bigger needs at the moment. I say pay for a WR and fill a different need.

Lost Boards, the Surfer’s Nightmare

BY ROBERT CHARTUK Along with flying, falling and the other common themes of our dreams, surfers suffer vivid night sweats featured around losing our boards. Many of these are based on real life experiences and I have certainly had my share.

My first escapade involved a 6’0” Dick Brewer pintail which I bought when I was 14 with money earned by mowing lawns and farm work including picking string beans and working on a potato harvester, an activity that would surely raise child safety laws in this day and age.

You would be credited with having put in a good day on the harvester when you wore holes in your work gloves as you plucked stones and other debris from the behemoth’s mechanical belt.

One morning, I caught a ride to the beach with some friends and when we got there, my Brewer was no longer on the roof where we had indelicately strapped it. This was a depressing scenario especially since the waves were good and I had nothing to ride. About a month later, I was hitchhiking to the beach and was picked up by a guy in a van. As we were driving, I stole a peak to the back and there was my green pintail, along with a few other boards. I asked the guy where he got it and

he said he found it on the side of the road. I told him it was mine and he said I could have it back if I could describe it. Sure, a 6’0” Dick Brewer pintail with a hole drilled through the skeg for the leash. He graciously returned it, with the added bonus of having fixed some of the dings suffered from its flight off the roof.

He was also heading to the beach and I got to surf at Jetty 4 on my reunited stick. Chalk one up for good Karma.

Working at the time in the produce section at Gristedes Supermarket, I was confronted daily with the prospect of getting to and from Westhampton Beach, a problem I usually solved courtesy of my thumb. This necessitated traveling light and I stashed my board in an empty locker at Rogers Beach. To my chagrin one afternoon when the waves were firing, it went missing. Karmic Deficit: -1.

When I was in my early 20’s, a longboard came into the Moriches Bay Historical Society thrift sale and I was on it. This wasn’t just any old board, but a classic Hobie nose rider from the 1960’s in pristine condition.

It needed a skeg and when I called the Hobie shop in Dana Point, California to inquire about getting a new one, the guy offered me $800 for it over the phone. Naturally, I declined and

foolishly rode the board instead of squirreling it away for its collector value. I kept my first boat, a 16’ MFG Gypsy, at Cerullo Brothers in East Moriches and left the Hobie on board to avoid the chore of lugging it back and forth. Sadly, one day, it was gone. Karmic Deficit: -2.

Riding both short boards and long boards, I decided one day to

he dropped me off at home and I jumped out quickly to grab my gear while he unstrapped the Hackman from the roof. About an hour later, I went out into the yard and wondered where my board was. Turns out that while the board was unstrapped, I failed to remove it from the racks

before the Boy King drove off. He said he remembered people beeping at him as he drove along Montauk Highway, but didn’t think anything of it.

I immediately made posters which I put on telephone poles and at various area beaches. The next day I got a call from someone who had found a board, but it wasn’t mine. False alarm. For weeks, I went out of my way to surf different lineups hoping to be reunited. I was afflicted with the lost board curse of looking at every vehicle with a surfboard on it and even turned around on the Southern State one time to go after a car with what I thought was my woody. My crew said it was a lost cause, but I held out hope. Eight months after it flew off the Boy King’s roof, I got a call from a friend who heard from a friend who knew a guy whose sister had a surfboard she had found. I traced her to Manorville and there, behind the sofa in her living room was my long-lost Tak. The next day I paddled out at Cupsogue and joined the naysayers without saying a word.

They quickly noticed the unique wooden board and were as stoked as I was to see it again. Lifetime Karmic Deficit holds at -1.

Will a Biden-Harris presidency change my estate plan?

2020 was a monu ment a l year with many changes and 2021 may bring changes that affect your estate plan.

There was a political shift in Washington, changes to the New York State Medicaid program, a world-wide pandemic, and amendments to state and local laws. So regardless of the policies and laws that have been proposed

by President Biden and Vice President Harris, 2021 is a good time to review your estate plan with your attorney to ensure your planning is in line with the changes wrought by a tumultuous year.

As a presidential candidate,

President-Elect Biden put forth two proposals that would most effect estate planning. Should Congress choose to advance these proposals, you should be in a position to understand how it may affect you and what the options are for action.

One proposal is to decrease the Federal estate tax exemption from the current level. Under the Federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the federal estate and gift tax exemption is $11.7 million.

This means that there will be no Federal estate tax due if the assets left behind at death combined with the assets given away during life, are below that level. The Act, implemented in 2017, states that the exemption level will “sunset” in 2026, at

which point the exemption will be $5 million, indexed for inflation (likely to be about $6 million).

As a candidate, President Biden proposed a reduction in this exemption to as low as $3.5 million. For many, a reduction in the exemption level will have no impact on their estate plan as their own assets fall below these levels. But for those with assets in excess of the new exemption, a change in their estate plan may be necessary to be most tax efficient. Married couples should be planning in a way that uses the estate tax exemptions for both spouses.

Additionally, lifetime gifting and trust planning may be prudent to decrease the amount

of one’s taxable estate – while the exemption remains at its current level.

The second proposal that may alter estate planning techniques relates to capital gains tax. Capital gains tax is a type of income tax which is calculated when as asset is sold, based on any appreciation in value. For example, if a share of stock in a company is purchased at $1 and is subsequently sold for $100, there is a $99 gain which will be taxed. The law has long been that the stock gets a “step-up” in basis to fair market value at the death of the original owner. If the owner dies and the date of death value is $100, this will be the new basis by which capital gains is calculated. If a

Some homeowners purchased the property a long time ago and it has since increased greatly in value. In those situations, beneficiaries often rely on the step up in basis to the date of death value of the homeowner to eliminate or reduce taxes upon the sale of the home.

The proposal from the candidate is to eliminate this step up at death. On those assets that have greatly increased in value, the beneficiaries of the

estate would have a higher tax to pay upon the sale of the asset.

If the step up in basis at date of death is eliminated, some individuals may sell these types of assets while they are alive or do other tax-related planning to minimize the impact.

Whether you are concerned about these particular tax changes or not, it is advisable to check in with your estate planning attorney, financial advisor, accountant and other advisors to review your estate plan in light of the many changes that have taken place on the State and Federal levels in the past twelve months.

Agent Orange

BY REV. FREDERICK MILLER. PH.D. Agent Orange was used during the Vietnam War as the herbicide to clear the forests leaves and vegetation for military operations.

The military sprayed Agent Orange over more than 20 percent of South Vietnam between the early 1960’s and early 1970’s in an attempt to flush out their enemies.

Agent Orange is colorless, named because of the orange band painted on the drums used during storage and transport. The compound in Agent Orange most commonly linked to medical or health effects is dioxin.

This was not intentionally added to Agent Orange, but rather a byproduct formed during the manufacturing process. Dioxin is a known carcinogen that’s toxic in even small doses.

HEALTH EFFECTS OF AGENT ORANGE

About three million veterans served in Southeast Asia, and no one knows for sure how many of these veterans were exposed to Agent Orange. Some service members were deployed in areas during and immediately after spraying, and others actually handled the Agent. Veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange may have certain related illnesses.

BY DOMINICK FORTE This is the winter of our discontent. A new President vows an America United while his party impeaches an unpopular outgoing President with eight days left to his term of office. Plans are made to remove him from office even after he is no longer in office. The street violence continues with mercenary insurrectionists occupying and burning our cities. They are sacking, pillaging, and plundering our streets to the left of us. Rioters are storming our nation’s capital to the right. The majority class is stuck in the middle.

During this chaotic upheaval, politicians offer solutions such as defunding the police and sending psychologists and social workers to hot spots to quell the street violence. Peace officers’ efforts to keep the peace are impeded.

The plagues are upon us.

Famine threatens those who have lost their jobs due to the germ warfare which has been unleashed from across the Pacific. Families must choose between food for their kids and heat for their homes. Those who wallow helplessly in poverty don’t even have homes; they must cast their fate to the icy winds. They place their hope in the promises of bureaucratic bearers of falsehood, the false prophets. Nature runs rampant as we lose the fight of man versus nature. Earthquakes, tsunamis, deadly blizzards, and raging wildfires become all too commonplace.

Are we to abandon all hope?

In times like these hope in the providence of God is our only refuge. But, keep the faith; there will be a change. During our human history the presence of archangels is a signal that great change is imminent. Today the Archangels are among

us. They will lead the fight against evil. They will make their presence known when it is to their strategic advantage.

Make no mistake about it. The Archangels are waiting for the optimum time to appear in all their power and might to lead the righteous in the unending war of good versus evil. And, make no mistake about it, good will triumph over evil.

The forces of good will be commanded by Michael the Archangel. Michael is God’s foremost servant in heaven and his role is clear from episodes in which God sends him down among us to act on His behalf. His singular elite status in Heaven affords him great domain.

The Book of Revelation tells that at the climactic battle of Armageddon Michael will spearhead the final battle of good versus evil. He will lead

A Change is Gonna Come: Michael is on It! God’s army against the troops of the Prince of Darkness. At the pinnacle of this great battle, Michael will descend from the highest point in Heaven holding the key to the abyss and swirling a great chain. He will engage Satan and bind him tightly with the chain and cast him into the abyss. He will hurl the Devil, the source of all evil, and his demonic followers into hell and lock the gates.

Order and tranquility will be restored and God’s kingdom will prevail. Good will ultimately triumph over evil. It can be no other way. God will rule and the righteous will enjoy an eternal peace and a lasting prosperity. The unrest we now experience is temporary. It will be eradicated and serenity will prevail forever. God and his Heavenly Hosts will maintain a lasting peace. God is merely biding his time. And His time is upon us.

It’s important to have a goto practice for sidestepping the most intense waves of our countertransference reactions to clients. Do the following when you’re experiencing significant reactivity to your work with a client: STOP .... Pause in what you’re doing and give yourself permission to address your reactions.

NOTICE sensations in the body and your mind’s reactive thoughts.

How is the reactivity manifesting in your chest, shoulders, arms, hands and face? Tune into the flow of your thinking and track it for a moment.

ALLOW the thoughts and bodily sensations all to be just as they are.

Don’t flinch away. Don’t try to push them down. Simply choose to watch them.

Ask: Can I make space for these difficult thoughts and feelings?

Put full attention on any physical sensations that may accompany the feelings.

PENETRATE them all with slow, deep breathing. Take as many of these breaths as you feel you need

Send kind wishes (such as “may you find ease and peace”) to these sensations.

PROMPT yourself toward compassion for yourself and the client. How might your next intervention with this client be different?

Imagine your client and send him or her a similar kind wish.

Spend some time simply breathing and bringing compassion to what’s arising in your body and mind.

for the active volunteer firefighters of the CENTER MORICHES FIRE DISTRICT in accordance with Article 11-A of the General Municipal Law; and WHEREAS, the CENTER MORICHES FIRE DISTRICT has established a Point System for the LOSAP in accordance with General Municipal Law §217 in order to determine which active volunteer firefighter program participants qualify each year to be awarded a year of service credit under the LOSAP; and WHEREAS, General Municipal Law §217 was amended by Chapter 113 of the Laws of 2020 as follows; AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to the determination of points for service award programs for volunteer firefighters during a state disaster emergency and

authorizing service award program sponsors to adjust certain point systems when such sponsor adopts written emergency response protocols The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows: Section 1. Section 217 of the general municipal law is amended by adding at new subdivisions (p) to read as follows: (p) For purposes of determining total points earned for a calendar year in which a state disaster emergency, as defined in section twenty of the executive law, has been declared pursuant to executive order number two hundred two of two thousand twenty, as amended, to address the outbreak of novel coronavirus, COVID-19, an active volunteer firefighter service award program may provide for the crediting of up to five additional points per month, prorated for periods of less than one month, to each active

volunteer firefighter for each month that special emergency response rules were in place restricting firefighter responses to emergency responses and/or restricting the holding of activities for which points could be earned due to guidelines related to the state disaster emergency. A political subdivision electing to provide the additional points authorized under this subdivision shall adopt a resolution by April thirtieth, two thousand twentyone determining the number of additional points to be credited per month, provided that any additional points credited pursuant to this subdivision shall be in addition to any other points earned pursuant to this section during the state disaster emergency.

WHEREAS, the CENTER MORICHES FIRE DISTRICT has determined to award five (5) points per month, prorated for periods of less than one month, under the Point System for each

month or part thereof that the COVID-19 State of Emergency was in place and active volunteer firefighter program participants performed their duties under special restrictive emergency response rules created by the BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS in consultation with the BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS related to restricted emergency responses and/ or restricting the holding of activities for which points could be earned due to guidelines related to the State Disaster Emergency; and WHEREAS, the BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS has determined that active volunteer firefighter program participants performed their duties under special emergency response rules related to emergency responses and/ or restricting the holding

of activities for which points could be earned due to guidelines related to the State Disaster Emergency during the period of 3/15/20 through 1/11/21, and that regular emergency response guidelines and activities were put back in place as of ; IT IS RESOLVED, that in accordance with the above-referenced statutory authority the CENTER MORICHES FIRE DISTRICT LOSAP Points System is hereby amended to afford active volunteer firefighter program participants credit for an additional five (5) points per month, prorated for periods of less than one month, for the period of 3/15/2020 through 7/31/2020, and LOSAP coordinators who maintain Point System records are directed to adjust the point totals for each active volunteer firefighter program participant for

the time during such period that he or she was listed as an active volunteer firefighter; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that volunteer firefighters that were not on the active rolls during all or part of the aforesaid period due to a leave of absence, suspension or other reason shall not be eligible for these special COVED-19 points during any period that they were not active firefighters participating in the accumulation of points under the LOSAP; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the CENTER MORICHES FIRE DISTRICT reserves the authority under this resolution to grant special COVID-19 points during later periods in 2020 and 2021 if the State of Emergency remains in effect and the Board is required to go back to emergency response and point generating

activity restrictions if future developments with regard to the pandemic require that a new set of restriction be put in place for additional periods of time.
