Your opinion of me is none of my business In a world where social media takes up a large portion of our time, it seems that many people are so concerned with how many likes they receive from their photographs or posts that they spend unlimited time trying to get them to look perfect. Thousands of photographs later, added filters, edited and cropped, all in the attempt to look cooler. On the surface there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with this but if we dig deeper we will discover that this epidemic is far more serious than we think. Getting the right angle on our tummy so that we look slimmer, holding our breath to appear in better shape than we are or pouting our lips to help hide aging lines on our face, are all common trends to get the perfect shot for people that we really don’t care about.

These are tactics that the advertising world used for years.

Selling perfect teeth if you use this toothpaste, perfect hair if you use this shampoo. It’s all fake and we now know it.

Performing an act thousands of times on video until we get it right, editing it so that it appears the first take are ways in which we are attempting to fulfill the human need of significance. We all need to feel important from time to time but if we constantly strive for reassurance that we are great, there is obviously a lack of self-esteem and self worth that needs to be addressed. As powerful as social media is, you have to ask yourself what message are we trying to get out to the world. Look at me, I am perfect, will never leave you fulfilled because we all know that this is not true. Fulfilment

can never be attained by acquiring anything ie. more money, more fame, more likes on social media etc. Fulfilment is only acquired by growing in a personal capacity or giving to others without wanting anything in return. Growing and giving are needs of the spirit.

This is why many rich and famous celebrities are unhappy.

They have everything money can buy, yet they have an emptiness inside that cannot be explained. Worrying about what somebody thinks about you on any level will change who you really are because you will be adjusting to cater for their needs.

Get your message out to the world with every personal encounter or on social media, but be true to yourself and don’t concern yourself with the number of likes that you receive.

On a recent family winter vacation to South Africa, I had the privilege of experiencing, what is in my opinion, one of the finest boutique hotels on offer in the region and possibly even elsewhere in my personal world of travel.

vacation and probably the most feared hotel guest (who also happens to be the one truly honest critic who can always be counted on to give their own extremely biased unfiltered opinion at any given time and most likely to embarrass you in public) is that very same child you and your spouse have brought into this world. The universal family vacation litmus test being.... is the kid happy? and the close second...is my spouse happy?

If you consider yourself to be a seasoned traveler, or even if your travel experience consists of going to the nearest place with a discount stay on offer, the one thing we all do, without fail in this digital age is to go online and check the reviews and ratings of the place we are considering traveling to and the place we are thinking about staying at.

When we arrived, Junot the gentleman in charge of security at the driveway entrance, of what was originally a grand family home, welcomed us with a big non-judgmental smile, even though we were driving a small car

by South African standards and probably what would be considered really small in the UAE, and slightly out of place for such a grand place. his presence and the unobtrusive security measures made us feel comfortably safe, which contributed a large part to me, in particular, being able to relax on vacation.

Arriving from the UAE which boasts a plethora of “luxury hotels’ and having done a fair amount of traveling around the world with many boutique hotel experiences to my credit, I was,simultaneously, somewhat skeptical and somewhat in awe of the reviews and accolades from previous hotel guests bestowed upon Arambrook not only as a location but also the constant references in particular to the heart of the establishment ... the people who made their stay subtly genuinely memorable - the management and staff who without exception had a genuine warmth and passion for the place, their professions and their guests, the perfect adult getaway.. etc etc.

The moment we stepped out of the car it really did feel like we were being welcomed into a friend’s home who looked forward to having you there, we were greeted

by Aubrey Ngcungama, the hotel manager, who simply charmed my daughter from the time we arrived until we left.

My challenge was...apart from being concerned that the reviews would not live up to the hype, was the fact that I bringing my 6 and-a-half-year-old daughter (wife included) to this “boutique hotel” and if you are a parent you would know that the one true litmus test for any family

Within 5 minutes of our arrival, Aubrey had us sitting on a beautiful white lounge suite in the enclosed porch overlooking the garden with a welcoming glass of adult red in hand and bowl of exquisite pink, light and fluffy Arambrook homemade marshmallows for big and small

kids alike while our bags were being taken to our room.

In that short space of time, and to my eternal shame I had committed a cardinal sin, as a guest, I had spilled a fair amount of red liquid onto the once immaculate white suite. Aubrey the ever-gracious host assured me that they could get the stains out.... needless to say, I was not so sure...and my first night was one of concern.

The girls, however, were so taken with “their” room leading out onto a balcony with a breath-taking view of the mountain and especially the attic with a bed for our little one - separate enough for the discerning “I am a big girl now Daddy” but close and open enough to provide instant comfort, in that she could look over the railing and see us instantly below (with the staff’s extra bit of loving attention to detail in providing’ bedtime reading books), the bathroom with the shower and what was to become our little honest critic’s favourite sunset ritual ..the Victorian hot bathtub splash-a-thon.

Amy Bradfield the CEO was instrumental in making our stay a genuine experience, its through her leadership and excellent choices of manager’s like Aubrey and the staff that make the real difference in propelling a beautiful property like Arambrook into an exceptional and memorable stay.

Most importantly for travellers coming from the Middle East and those who have specific religious and dietary requirements. Arambrook and their staff have welcomed amongst their guests, Islamic visitors, whose requirements for religious,family privacy, safety and dietary have been satisfactorily met.

Prior to bedtime, I had the opportunity, the first of all our nights there, to sit next to an entrancing fireplace in the lounge area with a magnificent grand piano as the centerpiece with a singularly warm drink and a gracious chance of chatting with Aubrey and occasionally some of the other guests. The ambiance and Aubrey made all the guests without exception, feel at ease and comfortable enough to have some really interesting conversations.

The arrival of Arambrook homemade chocolates before bedtime, courtesy of the polite, friendly, silent and efficient angel called Faith, ( the girls politely left me one to taste....) and the unsuspectingly comfortable bed with the options of choosing your pillows based on allergies or just personal preferences, made me briefly realise, despite my red stain concern and overwhelming desire to surrender my self to the bed, that a lot of thought and expense must have gone into creating the near-perfect sleeping environment.

The perfect blend of tranquillity, privacy, both adult and family friendly and for those looking for it, - adventure.

It ticks all the boxes for an understated business trip, or a private family adventure. If you are visiting South Africa, Arambrook is a “must stay” destination.

Your guide: Abu Dhabi Toll system starting on the 15th October WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW Abu Dhabi will launch it’s new tool system on the 15th October 2019. Make sure you are registered to avoid any inconvenience or penalty.

Owners of Abu Dhabi-registered vehicles do not have to create payment accounts.

When trying to sign up, owners of Abu Dhabi-registered vehicles see a message saying that a user account will be created for them automatically.

“Ahead of toll system activation, an SMS with account login detail will be sent to their mobile number, as registered with Abu Dhabi Police,” the message reads. It adds that these users only need to sign up vehicles registered outside Abu Dhabi after they receive their user sign-in details.

Vehicles registered outside Abu Dhabi have to sign up for the toll system.

To register, users have to provide their Emirates ID details, car licence plate details, mobile number, email and a login password.

After an account is created, motorists can log on and top up their balance.

Registering a single vehicle will cost Dh100, with Dh50 credited to the user account; this amount can be used afterwards to pay the toll.

Motorists with vehicles registered outside Abu Dhabi should sign up before, or within a 10-day period of, passing a toll gate. Otherwise, they will be charged Dh100 for the first day after the grace period, Dh200 for the second day, Dh400 for the third day, up to a maximum of Dh10,000.

If the account for a vehicle registered outside Abu Dhabi is not topped up before passing a toll gate, the motorist has a five-day grace period to top up the balance. After this, a Dh50 daily fine will apply.

On the other hand, there will be no fines for passing a toll gate without sufficient balance for Abu Dhabi-registered vehi-

What are the penalties for non-registration?

When will I have to pay?

The Integrated Transport Centre has set October 15 as the date for toll system implementation.

How do I register my vehicle?

Owners of vehicles not registered in Abu Dhabi have to create an account on itps. itc.gov.ae, or dot.gov.abudhabi by clicking on the Abu Dhabi toll gate system link on the left dashboard. Provide your Emirates ID details, licence plate details, email and mobile number and make the payment.

How much will it cost me?

The minimum payment is Dh100 per vehicle, but Dh50 will be credited back to your account after registration is completed. You can top up pour account and the toll will be deducted automatically every time you pass a toll gate.

What about Abu Dhabi-registered vehicles?

An account will be created automatically, and sign-in details sent to the vehicle-owner by SMS on the mobile number registered with Abu Dhabi Police.

What if I own multiple vehicles?

Abu Dhabi vehicle owners will see a list of all the vehicles associated with the mobile number provided. Motorists with vehicles registered outside Abu Dhabi can opt to register multiple vehicles under a single account.

Who has to pay the toll?

Vehicles passing through any of the four toll gates on Shaikh Zayed, Shaikh Khalifa, Al Maqta’a and Musaffah bridges have to pay the toll.

How much is the toll?

Dh4 for passing a toll gate once during peak hours (7am to 9am and 5pm to 7pm from Saturday to Thursday) and Dh2 during non-peak hours, Fridays and pub-

What if I do not have sufficient balance in my account when passing a toll gate?

You get a five-day grace period to top up your account. After this, a Dh50 daily fine will apply. Abu Dhabi-registered vehicles will not be fined for passing a toll gates with insufficient balance.

They can pay off any unpaid tolls when renewing their vehicle registration.

Are there any other violations?

Tampering with licence plates to evade payment will result in a Dh10,000 fine.

A fine of Dh10,000 also applies for tampering with -payment devices or the toll gates.

Who is exempt from paying the toll?

Electric vehicles are exempt for two years from the date of activating the system. Also exempt are ambulances, Armed Forces and Civil Defence vehicles, public buses, motorbikes, public taxis, school buses registered in the emirate, passenger buses with 26 seats or more. Vehicles bearing the emblems and number plates of the General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, Ministry of Interior and Emirates Police, and towed vehicles are also exempt. Unlike Dubai’s Salik system, there is currently no exemption in Abu Dhabi for vehicles belonging to people of determination.

New study from NYU finds cold-adapted lacertid lizards prone to current pace of climate change A new study which delves into lacertid lizards’ origins and evolutionary nature reported that their physiological traits are closely linked to the environmental conditions they live in.

of Technology in Germany, said: "It was amazing to discover how neatly these species are adapted to their environment. Their physiology, size of distribution ranges, species richness, and even mutation rates - everything correlates strongly to the temperatures they experience in the wild."

Published in the journal Nature Communications, the study, which was conducted by 45 researchers from 17 countries including NYU Abu Dhabi Postdoctoral Associate Sebastian Kirchhof, found the following: Climate change already adversely affects lacertids in montane and cool, moist environments.

Tropical forest lacertids already operate at body temperatures very close to those of their environment; if temperatures increase, they may not be able to endure.

Desert lacertids with high thermal preferences and low water loss rates, such as those found in the UAE, so far appear to be less affected.

"We found in these lizards a strong adjustment between physiology and environmental temperature and this likely makes them very sensitive to global warming,” commented the first author of this study Joan Garcia-Porta, researcher at the Centre for Research on Ecology and Forestry Applications, CREAF, Spain, who is currently at Washington University in St Louis, US. The study used state-of-the-art DNA sequencing methods and analysis of fossils to reconstruct the evolution of 262 species of lacertid lizards. Glimpsing into the past of lacertids’ evolution shows that many of them originated in warm cli-

mates, but have since adapted as the Earth cooled down, and spread into very cold regions over time.

“On the basis of the new physiology data on thermal preferences and water loss rates, and the new genomic data as a backbone, we were able to better understand how past and present climatic environments experienced by lacertids have shaped the species’ diversity, physiology, and molecular evolution. The locally observed extinction of certain cold-adapted species might be evidence that they are unable to cope with the current pace of climate change,” Kirchhof commented.

Fast facts: Lizards are a group of animals that require warmth and sunlight to increase their internal body temperature and bolster their metabolism.

The family of lacertid lizards, sometimes called true lizards, comprises around 340 different species; they are widespread in Europe, Africa, and Asia; these lizards arose and adapted millions of years ago.

Lacertid lizards exist in the blazing heat of, for instance, the Sahara-Arabian desert, as well as chilly habitats on mountains above 2,000m in Europe. One of them, the viviparous lizard, even reaches the Arctic Circle, farther north than any other reptile.

Frustrated at work?

Get curious with the frustration Didn’t you choose to join the corporate world for some positive reason? Was that for the stability of at least one guaranteed salary in the household per month, the alignment of their vision to your dream, the ability to turn your phone off during vacation allowing for complete relaxation or even the opportunity to be involved with those juicy larger projects and technologies that you certainly couldn’t have access to if you worked for yourself.

bright light, fresh air and lots of nurturing, do you choose to surround yourself with open and imaginative minds, ‘can do’ attitudes and a learning perspective? If they do not exist currently, how will you bring those into your workspace, regardless of what others think or choose to do.

The daily work grind happens to us all, with that very reason we chose to work in the organization being forgotten.

For example, your colleagues are missing their deadlines with a negative impact on your own work; little to no communication is coming your way. Deliverables keep changing and the departmental silence is deafening. Resources are not being shared which makes your job difficult to complete. There is no such thing as a perfect organization, however, I can show you examples of executives who have transformed their careers by applying curiosity in the face of workplace frustration and being ‘in a relationship’ with it, rather than submit to a career of mediocrity or even resign as an escape.

With your curiosity piqued, a natural chemical is released within your body called dopamine. It places you on high alert, has you focused and intrigued and provides a never-ending energy that redirects boredom to fascination. You pry, poke and prod until you discover new ways because the status quo is unacceptable. You no longer ‘spend time’; rather time runs fast and often there’s not enough.

Adults are babies in big bodies, and as such, it is only natural to explore and be curious. When there’s nothing to do, find something; be it relevant to the job or even a fun interlude that will open new opportunities. When there’s no equipment, find ways to move forward with other aids and resources or even create new systems that do not require that equipment. When there’s no structure provided, make your own winning formula. When there’s no relationships, go forge relationships that require new ways of human connection. When you don’t know how to use or maximize the technology, ask those who do (even privately is fine), seek input from forums or turn to different industries who probably use it differently. When we find new ways to produce, connect and work, we give our boss and those around us a reason to see our value while we ourselves are nurturing it.

Results will speak for themselves. Creativity and exploration will have you producing in unexpected ways; your ideas will flow and the desire to share will be highlighted.

The ability to be curious is in our human genes, yet many adults have buried it under the burden of daily responsibility. Start with small actions as simple as looking at something in a different way, walking into the workplace from a different entrance or even arranging your desk in a different layout. As frustration grows, so too can your curiosity with techniques such as asking the ‘5 why’s’, identifying each action that no longer is as efficient or effective as it could be or building prototypes.

Navigating frustration at work with curiosity will require an evolving ‘ecosystem’. Which elements do you choose to surround yourself with that serve experimentation and imaginative pursuits? Just like a healthy garden needs

The results of applying curiosity to workplace frustration are clear and indisputable.

You will catch the attention of others, opening dialogue and connection. You will likely have a contagious impact on others so they will either join you, or at the very least ask what it is you are up to. Either way, you are standing out and noted as being a proactive part of a solution.

Days are driven by success, albeit in new forms never thought of before. Your relevance to the department has increased and credibility is soaring, being a valued source that will be sought out during meetings and daily challenges.

The choice is yours. Do you choose to be under the influence of your boss’s inadequacies, inabilities or fears? If that’s not the case, then great! If those words do mirror your reality, you do not have to be a captive of that environment; create a sub-environment within. Apply curiosity and watch the world of work open you up into becoming more relevant, more credible and even more frustration-free. The choice is in your hands!

And oh, by the way, when you next free up a moment for yourself, is it worth being curios about why you are in your job in the first place?

She was frustrated and bored as her managers never seemed interested in growing her. She was ready for a new level of skills and new challenges.

Had she reacted and withdrawn, she would have suffered even more frustration Choice point: She wanted to try to be part of the solution regarding the lack of teamwork, because not only did her department have that need, but her dream of being a manager would also require that.

Result that yielded • He found at least two steps of the process could be communicated and tracked manually at a ‘community level’. He convinced others and set it up where there we no reasons not to use it.

So, she identified online self-learning opportunities, specifically related to a new form of collaboration that her department could benefit from; she studied a systems-based approach to teamwork.

Unexpected Results Another department offered an idea for the third step, resulting in a no cost, full solution. Although it was back to a manual system, it allowed projects to continue during the tough times.

Action she took • Enrolled herself online • Started sharing with people once she was making progress through the content, setting seeds in people’s minds that work didn’t really have to be as isolated as it felt currently • At every point of the learning, she would stop and ask herself: ‘what’s stopping that in my department’ • She applied her learning a mini-team on a small project and quantified the results.

• Asked the others to list what was different about that project.

• They all together presented the outcomes.

• She offered to set this up in a cross-functional team across departments. Her success was growing • She then learnt that weekend classes were available and enrolled to take her learning to the next step.

Results that yielded • People started speaking about the benefits of working as a systems-based team • Unexpected Results • Rawan became the ‘go-to’ person for advice when frustration or inefficiency appeared in teams.

Al Ain Amblers hosts annual open day What an amazing start we have had to the 2019-2020 rugby/netball season.

The Al Ain Amblers Rugby Club hosted its annual Open Day on Friday, 6 September. We had an exhibition netball match as well as five rugby 20 minute mini-matches against the Dubai Eagle Knights. There were familiar faces to the club for the evening’s events as well as new, fresh faces to the Al Ain

community. The rugby club’s sponsors showed up to show their support of our many teams. If you are still interested in playing for our net ball team, youth, men’s, women’s or touch rugby teams, or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact the club reception at 037026431, better yet pay a visit to the club. The power of community “Remember, we all stumble, every one of us. That’s why it’s a comfort to go hand in hand.” Emily Kimbrough Studies at Harvard University, the London School of Economics, and other researchers have consistently identified the root of happiness as having rich social bonds and meaningful relationships… but how do we make those bonds, especially as many of us are living so far from ‘home’?

I love that after living here in Al Ain almost 7 years now I STILL meet new friends that have been here at least as long as I have, if not longer. We exchange puzzled conversations about why our paths haven’t crossed before in this ‘small’ city.

If you are new to Al Ain, be assured that this is a very friendly place, but there is a truth that we all tend to live in ‘vertical social groups’. We know the people we work with and maybe in our street or building; if we’re parents then we know other mums and dads at the school gates or swim meets.

And all of that is WONDERFUL but there is a WEALTH of other stuff you could be getting yourself involved with in Al Ain if you can take that first brave step outside of your comfort zone. You can find likeminded people or try something completely new. There are sports clubs, book clubs, animal welfare groups and historical societies as well as coffee mornings to just meet for a chat and make that CONNECTION. People need people (Barbra Streisand said); we feed each other (literally and emotionally) and encourage each other and grow together.

Here are some powerful reasons not to go it alone:

Collective wisdom.

No one person ever has all of the answers, a problem shared is a problem halved and all that. You will find a wealth of knowledge and experience when you open up to the people around you.

Push your limits.

All you need to know about the UAE Space Mission on 25th September 2019 The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre has revealed all the details related to Hazzaa AlMansoori’s mission to ISS scheduled on 25th September. The press conference highlighted details related to the scientific experiments AlMansoori will be conducting aboard ISS, the list of items he is taking to space, the launch and landing, the training stages and the quarantine period that takes place two weeks prior to the launch.

Historic Event His Excellency Yousuf Hamad AlShaibani said, “The first Arab and Emirati astronaut’s mission to the ISS is a historic event in in the space industry. For the first time, an Arab and Emirati astronaut will take part in conducting scientific missions in space”.

AlShaibani stressed that the scientific experiments and research will contribute to enriching human knowledge and coming up with a database that can be shared with various local and international organisations, which in turn will open new horizons in the global scientific community.

The press conference discussed the preparations for this mission which began on September 3, 2018, with extensive training for Hazzaa AlMansoori and Sultan AlNeyadi. The two astronauts began their training by learning the Russian language at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center at Star City in Moscow, as it was a key requirement to proceed to the following training on the Soyuz vehicle and for takeoff and landing.

“Upon AlMansoori’s arrival at the ISS in September, the UAE will become the 19th country to contribute to scientific research. AlMansoori will present data related to the human life and body, and he will be the first astronaut from the Arab region to participate in such research,” continued AlMarri.

The main crew of this mission includes AlMansoori, Oleg Skripochka, and Jessica Meir. While the back-up crew is composed of AlNeyadi, Sergei Nikolaevich, and Thomas Henry.

The mission is part of the UAE Astronaut Programme, which is overseen by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC). The UAE Astronaut Programme is first integrated programme in the Arab region to prepare national cadres to participate in human space flights and carry out various scientific missions, in addition to becoming a part of the research carried out by the global scientific community to devise solutions to many challenges facing humanity.

AlMansoori will conduct 16 scientific experiments in cooperation with international space agencies, including the Russian Roscosmos and the European Space Agency (ESA). Six of these experiments will be done aboard the ISS to study Brain DTI, Osteology, motor control, time perception in microgravity, Fluidics (fluid dynamics in space), and DNAm-Age. The scientific mission includes experiments involving schools in the UAE as part of MBRSC’s Science in Space initiative. The first phase of the initiative witnessed the participation of nearly 16 schools from the UAE, in the presence of AlMansoori.

Opening the hatch of the spacecraft at the ISS will be two hours after the spacecraft is docked to ensure adequate safety procedures”.

An Emirati doctor receives AlMansoori upon return MBRSC has partnered with the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences and appointed Dr. Hanan AlSuwaidi as flight surgeon for the mission.

Her role will be involved in making sure the astronauts are medically ready for the mission during the quarantine time; she will be following up with Hazzaa during his stay aboard ISS and upon his landing back to Earth she will be part of international medical team who will examine the astronauts in a medical camp at the landing site. She will continue to follow up with AlMansoori for a little while after his return to Earth.

“Dr. Hanan AlSuwaidi, Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Science, graduated from the UAE University in 2005, received the Fellowship of the Arab Council for Medical Specialties and the Royal College of General Practitioners in Family Medicine in 2011, and also obtained a Master Degree in Public Health, and a Diploma in Diabetes Management from UAE and Dubai Diabetes Center, in addition to a degree in Safety, Quality, Informatics, and Leadership from Harvard University in 2016. She also has various research interests and publications in clinical health,” said AlMarri.

‫وأوضــح مركــز محمــد بــن راشــد للفضــاء‪ ،‬أن رائــد الفضــاء‪،‬‬

‫شــركاء عالمييــن منهــم وكالــة الفضــاء األوروبيــة (إيســا)‪،‬‬

‫هــزاع المنصــوري‪ ،‬ســيهدي هــذه الشــجرة لصاحــب‬

‫ووكالــة استكشــاف الفضــاء اليابانيــة (جاكســا) ووكالــة‬

‫الســمو الشــيخ محمــد بــن راشــد آل مكتــوم‪ ،‬نائــب‬

‫الفضــاء الروســية (روسكوســموس)؛ ويشــمل المحــور‬

‫رئيــس الدولــة‪ ،‬رئيــس مجلــس الــوزراء‪ ،‬حاكــم دبــي‪،‬‬

‫الثانــي تجــارب مبــادرة «العلــوم فــي الفضــاء»‪ ،‬وهــي‬

‫رعــاه اللــه‪ ،‬وكل الشــعب اإلماراتــي والوطــن العربــي‪.‬‬

‫تجــارب علميــة بســيطة تــم اختيارهــا بنــاء علــى منهــج‬

‫المــدراس فــي الدولــة‪ ،‬فيمــا يشــمل المحــور الثالــث‪،‬‬

‫اإلقالع والهبوط‬

‫المبــادرات التعليميــة‪ ،‬بالتنســيق مــع وكالــة الفضــاء‬

‫األوروبيــة وووكالــة استكشــاف الفضــاء اليابانيــة (جاكســا)‪.‬‬

‫وتتــم عمليــة إطــاق مركبــة «ســويوز إم ‪ ،»15‬باســتخدام‬ ‫صــاروخ ســويوز‪ ،‬والــذي يحتــوي فــي الجــزء العلــوي‬

‫علــى مركبــة الفضــاء ســويوز‪ .‬وتتكــون المركبــة مــن‬ ‫ثالثــة أجــزاء‪ ،‬تشــمل الوحــدة المداريــة التــي تحتــوي‬

‫علــى مرافــق مختلفــة للــرواد تمكنهــم مــن النــوم واألكل‬ ‫واســتخدام دورة الميــاه فيهــا‪ ،‬كمــا تحتــوي علــى مخــزن‬

‫بضائــع‪ ،‬وفــي المقدمــة وحــدة االلتحــام‪ ،‬والجــزء األوســط‪،‬‬

‫ويشــمل وحــدة الهبــوط؛ حيــث يجلــس رواد الفضــاء أثنــاء‬ ‫عمليــات اإلقــاع والهبــوط‪ ،‬ومــن خاللــه تتــم عمليــات‬

‫التحكــم بالمركبــة‪ ،‬والجــزء األخيــر ويشــمل وحــدة الدفــع‬ ‫التــي تحتــوي علــى وقــود ومحــركات مركبــة ســويوز‪.‬‬ ‫وأوضــح ســعود كرمســتجي‪ ،‬مديــر إدارة االتصــال‬

‫االســتراتيجي بمركــز محمــد بــن راشــد للفضــاء‪ ،‬خــال‬

‫«قصتــي» للشــيخ محمــد بــن راشــد تعانــق الفضــاء‬ ‫وســيقوم مركــز محمــد بــن راشــد للفضــاء‪ ،‬بإرســال‬ ‫حوالــي ‪ 10‬كيلــو جرامــات‪ ،‬مــن األغــراض الرمزيــة‬

‫التــي لهــا عالقــة بتــراث وثقافــة وتاريــخ دولــة‬ ‫واألدوات التــي سيســتخدمها هــزاع‬

‫اإلمــارات‪،‬‬

‫والروســي أوليــغ سكريبوتشــكا واألمريكيــة جيســيكا‬ ‫ميــر‪ ،‬فيمــا يتضمــن الطاقــم البديــل للمهمــة‪ ،‬ســلطان‬

‫النيــادي‪ ،‬وســيرغي ريزيكــوف‪ ،‬وتومــاس مارشــبيرن‪.‬‬

‫ومرحلــة العــزل الصحــي‪ ،‬التــي تســبق نقطــة الصفــر‬

‫وهــي موعــد االنطــاق إلــى محطــة الفضــاء الدوليــة‪.‬‬

‫وتنضــوي المهمــة تحت برنامج «اإلمــارات لرواد الفضاء»‪،‬‬

‫الــذي يشــرف عليــه مركــز محمــد بــن راشــد للفضــاء‪ ،‬والذي‬ ‫وأوضــح‪ ،‬أن التحضيــرات لهــذه المهمــة بــدأت فــي‬

‫الثالــث مــن ســبتمبر عــام ‪ ،2018‬مــن خــال عــدة تدريبــات‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تحضيــرا‬ ‫لــكل مــن هــزاع المنصــوري‪ ،‬وســلطان النيــادي‬ ‫للمهمــة التــي أصبحــت علــى قــاب قوســين أو أدنــى‪.‬‬

‫وأعلــن ســعادة يوســف حمــد الشــيباني‪ ،‬مديــر عــام‬ ‫مركــز محمــد بــن راشــد للفضــاء‪ ،‬عــن ابــرام شــراكات‬

‫واتفاقــات تعــاون مــع جهــات ومؤسســات محليــة‬ ‫واتحاديــة‪ ،‬مــن مختلــف المجــاالت‪ ،‬لتكــون جــزء مــن هــذا‬ ‫الحــدث التاريخــي؛ ومنهــا شــراكة مــع جامعــة محمــد بــن‬

‫راشــد للطــب والعلــوم الصحيــة وقــام المركــز مــن خاللهــا‬ ‫باختيــار الطبيبــة اإلماراتيــة حنــان الســويدي‪« ،‬كطبيــب رواد‬

‫الفضــاء» فــي مهمــة انطــاق أول رائــد فضــاء إماراتــي‪.‬‬

‫يعــد أول برنامــج متكامــل فــي المنطقــة العربيــة يعمــل‬ ‫علــى اعــداد كــوادر وطنيــة تُ شــارك فــي رحــات الفضــاء‬

‫ـزءا مــن‬ ‫المأهولــة للقيــام بمهــام علميــة مختلفــة‪ ،‬تصبــح جـ ً‬ ‫األبحــاث التــي يقــوم بهــا المجتمــع العلمــي الدولــي مــن‬ ‫أجــل ابتــكار حلــول للعديــد مــن التحديــات التــي بدورهــا‬

‫تســاعد فــي تحســين حيــاة البشــر علــى ســطح األرض‪.‬‬

‫وســينفذ رائــد الفضــاء‪ ،‬هــزاع المنصــوري‪ 16 ،‬تجربــة‬

‫علميــة بالتعــاون مــع وكاالت فضــاء عالمية منها الروســية‬ ‫روسكوســموس‪ ،‬ووكالــة الفضــاء األوروبيــة «إيســا»‪،‬‬

‫بينهــا ‪ 6‬تجــارب علــى متــن محطــة الفضــاء الدوليــة‬ ‫لدراســة تفاعــل المؤشــرات الحيويــة لجســم اإلنســان‬

‫فــي الفضــاء مقارنــة بالتجــارب التــي أجريــت علــى ســطح‬

‫األرض‪ ،‬ودراســة مؤشــرات حالــة العظــام‪ ،‬واالضطرابــات‬ ‫فــي النشــاط الحركــي‪ ،‬والتصــور وإدارك الوقــت عنــد‬

‫عام من التحديات‬

‫رائــد الفضــاء‪ ،‬إضافــة إلــى ديناميــات الســوائل فــي‬

‫بــدأ الرائــدان تدريباتهمــا فــي مركــز يــوري غاغاريــن لتدريــب‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫بتعلــم‬ ‫رواد الفضــاء فــي مدينــة النجــوم فــي موســكو‪،‬‬

‫اللغــة الروســية؛ وذلــك كمطلــب رئيســي لضمــان نجــاح‬

‫التدريبات الالحقة على مركبة سويوز واإلقالع والهبوط‪.‬‬

‫الفضــاء‪ ،‬وأثــر العيــش فــي الفضــاء علــى البشــر‪.‬‬

‫وتتضمــن المهمــة العلميــة تجــارب تخــص المــدارس فــي‬ ‫دولــة اإلمــارات ضمــن مبــادرة العلــوم فــي الفضــاء‬

‫ما هو التصاق اللسان أو عقدة اللسان؟‬ ‫التصاق اللسان (‪ )ankyloglossia‬هي حالة موجودة عند الوالدة تقيد‬ ‫نطاق حركة اللسان‪.‬‬ ‫حيث تقوم مجموعة من األنسجة القصيرة أو السميكة أو الضيقة (اللجام‬ ‫الساني) بربط مقدمة طرف اللسان بأرضية الفم‪.‬‬ ‫ويعاني الطفل المصاب بالتصاق اللسان من صعوبة في إخراج‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أيضا على طريقة تناوله للطعام وابتالعه‬ ‫لسانه‪ ،‬كما يمكن أن يؤثر‬ ‫والتحدث‪ ،‬وكذلك مواجه صعوبة في الرضاعة الطبيعية والتغذية‪.‬‬ ‫ما هي االعراض؟‬ ‫تشمل عالمات وأعراض التصاق اللسان ما يلي‪:‬‬ ‫• صعوبة في رفع اللسان إلى األسنان العلوية أو تحريك اللسان من‬ ‫جانب إلى آخر‪.‬‬ ‫• مشكلة في إخراج اللسان من أمام األسنان السفلية األمامية‬ ‫• قد يظهر اللسان على هيئة حفرة أو على شكل قلب عند إخراجه‪.‬‬ ‫متى تزور الطبيب؟‬ ‫يمكنك استشارة الطبيب في الحاالت التالية‪:‬‬ ‫•إذا كان لدى طفلك عالمات التصاق اللسان‪ ،‬والتي تسبب مشاكل‪،‬‬ ‫مثل وجود مشكلة في الرضاعة الطبيعية‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫متأثرا بوجود عقدة‬ ‫•إذ أعتقد أخصائي النطق والكالم أن كالم الطفل‬ ‫اللسان‪.‬‬ ‫•إذا كان الطفل األكبر يشتكي من مشاكل في اللسان‪ ،‬تتداخل مع‬ ‫الطعام‪ ،‬التحدث أو الوصول إلى األسنان الخلفية‪.‬‬ ‫•إذا كنت تشعر بالقلق من األعراض الخاصة بحالة التصاق اللسان‪.‬‬ ‫ما أسباب التصاق اللسان؟‬ ‫من الطبيعي أن ينفصل اللسان عن اللثة قبل الوالدة‪ ،‬للسماح للسان‬ ‫بحرية الحركة‪ .‬ولكن مع التصاق اللسان‪ ،‬تبقى اللثة ملتصقة بالجزء‬ ‫السفلي من اللسان‪ .‬ولكن السبب الحقيقي لهذا غير معروف بشكل‬ ‫كامل‪ ،‬على الرغم من أن بعض حاالت التصاق اللسان‪ ،‬قد تكون مرتبطة‬ ‫ببعض العوامل الوراثية‪.‬‬ ‫كيفية تشخيص الحالة؟‬ ‫عادة ما يتم تشخيص التصاق اللسان أثناء الفحص البدني‪.‬‬ ‫على سبيل المثال‪ ،‬قد يؤدي التصاق اللسان إلى‪:‬‬ ‫• مشاكل الرضاعة الطبيعية‪ .‬تتطلب الرضاعة الطبيعية أن يكون اللسان‬ ‫أعلى من اللثة السفلية‪ ،‬وذلك للحفاظ على استمرار عملية جذب الطفل‬ ‫للحلمة‪ .‬وإذا لم يتمكن الطفل من تحريك اللسان أو إبقائه في الموضع‬ ‫بدال من امتصاصها‪ .‬وهذا يمكن أن يسبب‬ ‫الصحيح‪ ،‬فإنه قد يمضغ الحلمة ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫كبيرا للحلمة‪ ،‬كما ُيسبب صعوبة في قدرة الطفل في الحصول على‬ ‫ألما‬ ‫حليب الثدي وضعف الرضاعة الطبيعية‪ ،‬ومع مرور الوقت يمكن أن يؤدي‬ ‫ذلك إلى نقص التغذية لدى الطفل وبطء عملية النمو‪.‬‬ ‫أيضا على الرضاعة الطبيعية ‪،‬‬ ‫• يمكن أن يؤثر التصاق الشفة العلوية ً‬ ‫أيضا تشخيص‬ ‫نادرا ما يكون تأثيرها أكبر من التصاق اللسان‪ .‬يمكن ً‬ ‫ولكن ً‬ ‫ذلك وعالجه بنفس طريقة التصاق اللسان‪.‬‬ ‫• صعوبات النطق‪ .‬يمكن أن يتداخل التصاق اللسان مع القدرة على‬ ‫النطق والتلعثم في بعض مخارج الحروف‪ ،‬مثل “ت “د” “ض””ق”‬ ‫و”ث” “ل”‪ .‬وقد تكون الصعوبة في النطق لحرف “ر” بشكل أكبر‪ .‬حيث‬ ‫يمكن مالحظة هذه المشاكل من قبل أحد الوالدين وتشخيصها من قبل‬ ‫متخصص في النطق‪.‬‬ ‫كيف يمكننا عالج هذه المشكلة؟‬ ‫• إجراء العالج المسمى استئصال عقدة اللسان أو تحرير ربطة اللسان‪.‬‬ ‫• عن طريق قطع هذا الشريط الضيق من األنسجة (اللجام اللساني) الذي‬ ‫يشد الجزء السفلي من طرف اللسان إلى أرضية الفم لتحرير اللسان‪.‬‬ ‫• نحن في ميديكلينيك المدار ‪ ،‬نقدم طريقة عالجية حديثة ‪ -‬التي تحرر‬

‫بمدينة سانت لويس في الواليات المتحدة‪:‬‬ ‫تكيف وثيقة بين درجة‬ ‫«توصلنا إلى وجود عالقة ّ‬ ‫حرارة البيئة والطبيعة الفيزيولوجية لدى هذا النوع‬ ‫ً‬ ‫جدا تجاه ظاهرة‬ ‫من السحالي‪ ،‬ما يجعلها حساسة‬ ‫االحتباس الحراري»‪.‬‬ ‫وتضمنت الدراسة االستعانة بتقنية تسلسل‬ ‫الحمض النووي فائقة التطور‪ ،‬وتحليل المستحاثات‬ ‫ً‬ ‫نوعا من السحالي‪.‬‬ ‫لبناء تصور حول كيفية تطور ‪262‬‬ ‫وبالنظر إلى مسيرة تطور هذا النوع من السحالي‬ ‫عبر التاريخ نكتشف بأن الكثير منها قد نشأت في‬ ‫مناخات دافئة‪ ،‬ولكنها تكيفت مع انخفاض درجة حرارة‬ ‫كوكب األرض‪ ،‬وتمكنت من االنتشار في المناطق‬ ‫شديدة البرودة مع مرور الوقت‪.‬‬

‫أعلى‪ ،‬وتمتاز بانخفاض معدالت فقدان الماء‪ ،‬مثل‬ ‫السحالي التي تعيش في دولة اإلمارات‪ ،‬والتي‬ ‫تتأثر بوتيرة أقل حتى اآلن‪.‬‬ ‫وفي هذا السياق‪ ،‬قال ميجيل فنسيس‪ ،‬المؤلف‬ ‫المشارك وأستاذ علم تطور األحياء في جامعة‬ ‫براونشفايغ التقنية‪« :‬لقد كان من المذهل اكتشاف‬ ‫مدى تكيف هذه األنواع مع بيئاتها الطبيعية؛‬ ‫إذ ترتبط طبيعتها الفيزيولوجية‪ ،‬ونطاق توزعها‬ ‫الجغرافي‪ ،‬وتنوعها الكبير‪ ،‬وحتى معدالت حدوث‬ ‫الطفرات لديها بشكل وثيق مع درجات الحرارة التي‬ ‫تتعرض لها في بيئاتها الطبيعية»‪.‬‬

‫دراسة جديدة تكشف‪ :‬أحد فصائل السحالي المتكيفة مع البرد‬ ‫أكثر عرضة لتأثيرات التغيرات المناخية‬ ‫تتناول هذه الدراسة أحد أنواع السحالي المسماة ليسرتيدس‬ ‫حقائق سريعة‪:‬‬ ‫•يحتاج هذا النوع من السحالي للدفء وآشعة‬ ‫الشمس لزيادة درجة حرارة الجسم الداخلية‬ ‫وتعزيز عملية األيض‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أيضا باسم‬ ‫•تضم هذه الزواحف والتي تُ عرف‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫مختلفا‪،‬‬ ‫نوعا‬ ‫السحالي الحقيقية حوالي ‪340‬‬ ‫وتنتشر في أوروبا وأفريقيا وآسيا‪ ،‬حيث نشأت‬ ‫وتكيفت منذ ماليين السنين‬ ‫•يعيش هذا النوع من السحالي في المناطق‬ ‫ذات درجات الحرارة العالية مثل الصحراء العربية‪،‬‬ ‫إلى جانب موائل طبيعية باردة في جبال أوروبا‬ ‫التي يزيد ارتفاعها عن ألفي متر؛ حتى أن‬ ‫سحلية فيفيباروس تعيش في الدائرة القطبية‬ ‫الشمالية‪ ،‬أبعد من أي نوع آخر من السحالي‬

‫ترتبط بشكل وثيق بالظروف البيئية في البيئة التي‬ ‫تعيش فيها‪.‬‬ ‫وأجريت الدراسة‪ ،‬التي أصدرتها مجلة ’نيتشر‬ ‫ً‬ ‫باحثا من ‪ 17‬دولة‪ ،‬بما‬ ‫كوميونيكيشنز‘ بمشاركة ‪45‬‬ ‫في ذلك سيباستيان كريتشوف‪ ،‬زميل أبحاث ما بعد‬ ‫وتوصلت‬ ‫الدكتوراه في جامعة نيويورك أبوظبي‪.‬‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫الدراسة إلى النتائج التالية‪:‬‬ ‫يؤثر التغير المناخي على السحالي الصحراوية‬ ‫المسماة ليسرتيدس التي تعيش في البيئات‬ ‫الجبلية والباردة والرطبة‪.‬‬ ‫يعيش هذا النوع من سحالي الغابات االستوائية‬ ‫في بيئات ذات درجات حرارة تقارب من درجات حرارة‬ ‫أجسامها‪ .‬ولكن في حال ازدياد درجات الحرارة أكثر‬ ‫من ذلك‪ ،‬فلن تكون هذه السحالي قادرة على‬ ‫تحملها‪.‬‬ ‫ُيستثنى من ذلك السحالي الصحراوية‬ ‫التي تفضل الحياة في درجات حرارة‬

‫التغير المناخي والبيئة تطلق السياحة الزراعية ضمن مشروعها الوطني‬

‫« كنوز الطبيعة في اإلمارات»‬

‫بما يسهل مهمة حمايتها والحفاظ عليها عبر منظومة‬ ‫تشريعية وقانونية متكاملة ومبادرات وبرامج‬ ‫تعمل على دعمها وتطويرها وضمان استدامتها‪.‬‬

‫يستهدف تعزيز سياحة التسوق « الزراعي‬ ‫والحيواني» والتعليم واألنشطة الترفيهية‬ ‫ضمن جهودها في إبراز المواقع السياحية‬ ‫والترويج للسياحة ضمن القطاعات البيئية في‬ ‫اإلمارات‪ ،‬أطلقت وزارة التغير المناخي والبيئة‬ ‫محور السياحة الزراعية ضمن المشروع الوطني‬ ‫للسياحة البيئية الذي أطلقته الوزارة العام الماضي‬ ‫تحت شعار « كنوز الطبيعة في اإلمارات»‪.‬‬

‫كما يهدف ربط الجمهور مع الطبيعة‪ ،‬ورفع الوعي‬ ‫بالممارسات الزراعية في الدولة وجودة الغذاء‪،‬‬ ‫وتشجيع المزارعين على تطوير وتوسعة نشاطهم‬ ‫عبر خلق دخل مالي إضافي‪ ،‬باإلضافة إلى تحفيز‬ ‫الجمهور على تبني سلوكيات الزراعة المجتمعية‪.‬‬ ‫كما تسعى الوزارة من خالل هذا المشروع إلى إعادة‬ ‫زراعة بعض النباتات وإحياء الممارسات المستدامة‬ ‫التي كانت تستخدم‬ ‫الماضي‪،‬‬ ‫في‬ ‫تعزيز‬ ‫وتستهدف‬ ‫أنواع هذا المفهوم‬ ‫البيئي‬ ‫السياحي‬ ‫ومنها السياحة الزراعية‬ ‫للتسوق‪،‬‬ ‫المباشرة‬ ‫الزراعية‬ ‫والسياحة‬ ‫والتعليم‪،‬‬ ‫للخبرة‬ ‫الزراعية‬ ‫والسياحة‬ ‫والترفيه‪.‬‬ ‫لألنشطة‬

‫يعتمد المحور الجديد على ما تتمتع به دولة اإلمارات‬ ‫من مساحة زراعية‬ ‫ومتطورة‪،‬‬ ‫مزدهرة‬ ‫ومزارع خاصة تضم‬ ‫مختلفة‬ ‫اشكاال‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ومتنوعة من النباتات‬ ‫الحيوانية‪.‬‬ ‫واالنواع‬ ‫مفهوم‬ ‫ويمثل‬ ‫السياحة الزراعية‪ ،‬نمط‬ ‫جديد من السياحة‪،‬‬ ‫يتيح لهواة الطبيعة‬ ‫الفرصة‬ ‫ومحبيها‬ ‫لالطالع على األنماط‬ ‫والممارسات الزراعية التقليدية والحديثة والتعرف‬ ‫على التقنيات المستخدمة فيها‪ ،‬باإلضافة‬ ‫إلى االستمتاع باألنشطة الترفيهية المتوفرة‬ ‫في العديد من المزارع النباتية والحيوانية في‬ ‫الدولة‪ ،‬كما يوفر للزوار فرصة لشراء احتياجاتهم‬ ‫من المنتجات الزراعية والحيوانية المحلية من‬ ‫المصدر مباشرة بكلفة معقولة وجودة عالية‪.‬‬

‫وضمن المرحلة األولى من محور السياحة الزراعية‬ ‫تم اختيار عدد من المزارع التي توفر تجربة سياحية‬ ‫فريدة من نوعها في الدولة ويصل عددها إلى ‪23‬‬ ‫مزرعة من أجل تثقيف الزوار وللمساهمة في زيادة‬ ‫محليا‪.‬‬ ‫الطلب على المنتجات والمحاصيل المزروعة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وشملت معلومات المرحلة األولى إضافة كافة البيانات‬ ‫والصور والمواد الفيلمية الالزمة حول هذه المزارع من‬ ‫المساحة‪ ،‬واألنشطة المقدمة‪ ،‬والوسائل المتوفرة‪،‬‬ ‫وأنواع المنتجات المباعة‪ ،‬والشروط واألحكام للزائر‪،‬‬ ‫وساعات العمل وخريطة الموقع‪ ،‬وبيانات التواصل‪،‬‬ ‫والرسوم‪ ،‬لتعريف الجمهور بها‪ ،‬إلى موقع الوزارة‬ ‫اإللكتروني‪ ،‬وضمن تطبيق السياحة البيئية الذكي‪.‬‬

‫وتهدف إضافة محور السياحة الزراعية إلى‬ ‫رفد المشروع الوطني للسياحة البيئية بعناصر‬ ‫ومقومات جديدة من دورها تعزيز مكانة الدولة‬ ‫على خارطة السياحة البيئية العالمية‪ ،‬ورسم خارطة‬ ‫واضحة ألهم المعالم البيئية والزراعية في الدولة‬

‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ميمونا إلى المدارس‬ ‫عودا‬ ‫ها قد انتهت العطلة الصيفية‪ ،‬وانتهى عهد الراحة‪ ،‬وعاد‬ ‫التالميذ إلى مدارسهم‪ .‬هناك بالطبع تالميذ جدد ال يعرفون‬ ‫المدرسة‪ ،‬وهم آتون إلى عالم غريب وتجارب جديدة‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وتحضيرا وشراء للمالبس واألحذية‬ ‫إعدادا‬ ‫األهل مستنفرون‬ ‫والحقائب واألقالم والمساطر والدفاتر‪ ،‬وبعضهم يشد‬ ‫الحزام كي يدفع األقساط المدرسية المستحقة عليه إذا كان‬ ‫ممن يفضلون التعليم الخاص‪ .‬وكل البالد في حركة دائبة‬ ‫الحل والترحال‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫بعد سبات الصيف أو بعد حركته النشطة في‬ ‫ودور التربية عملت على قدم وساق‬ ‫والسفر وغير ذلك‪ُ ...‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تحضيرا للعام الجديد‪.‬‬ ‫يشعر كثير من األهل باالرتياح لعودة األطفال إلى مدراسهم‪،‬‬ ‫«تضب»‬ ‫فال هرج وال مرج وال صياح بعد اآلن‪ ،‬فالمدرسة‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫األوالد‪ ،‬لكن الحقيقة أن عهد المدرسة يحتاج إلى كثير من‬ ‫من العناية والمتابعة والصبر‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وخالفا ألولئك الناس‪ ،‬يستنفر األطباء ويقلقون‪ ،‬وكذا‬ ‫السلطات الصحية‪ ،‬إذ تكثر األمراض نتيجة االزدحام‪ ،‬وتنتشر‬ ‫بين التالميذ الحمات الراشحة (الفيروسات) وغيرها من‬ ‫العوامل الممرضة التي أتوا بها من أماكن كثيرة‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ومرورا بعدم تحمل‬ ‫بدءا من الخوف‬ ‫وتبرز مشاكل المدرسة‬ ‫الغذاء‪ ،‬وانتهاء بالحوادث والرضوض الناجمة عن ركض‬ ‫التالميذ ولعبهم‪ ،‬وربما سيرهم بشكل خاطئ في الطريق‬ ‫أو ركضهم األهوج‪ ،‬أو نزولهم غير الحذر من الحافالت‪.‬‬ ‫أم من أن ابنتها ذات سبعة األعوام غير قادرة على‬ ‫تشكو ّ‬ ‫نفسية كثيرة تنجم عن‬ ‫مشاكل‬ ‫بالكتب‪.‬‬ ‫مألى‬ ‫حقيبة‬ ‫حمل‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫عدم الكفاية وعدم تساوي األطفال في اللباس والمصروف‬ ‫ً‬ ‫والسكري‬ ‫أمراضا مزمنة (كالربو‬ ‫وغير ذلك‪ .‬أطفال مرضى‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫خاصة بالتعاون مع األهل‬ ‫والص َرع‪ )..‬يحتاجون إلى عناية‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫َّ‬ ‫واألطباء‪.‬‬ ‫أطفال ناقصو الذكاء وآخرون متوسطو الذكاء‪ ،‬وعليهم اللحاق‬

‫بالركب‪ .‬أطفال لديهم‬ ‫إعاقات ومشاكل تعليمية‪،‬‬ ‫وال يستطيعون االندماج‬ ‫بسهوله مع اآلخرين‪.‬‬ ‫كل هذا قد يحدث في‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫الوقت الذي يستمر فيه‬ ‫النمو الجسدي في مرحلة‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫مهمة من مراحل العمر‪،‬‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫وفي مرحلة أخطر تأتي‬ ‫مشاكل المراهقة التي قد‬ ‫د‪.‬غالب خاليلي‬ ‫تبكّر عند بعض األطفال‪،‬‬ ‫اختصاصي في طب‬ ‫لترى بين السنة التاسعة‬ ‫األطفال‬ ‫والثالثة عشرة‪ .‬وفي مرحلة‬ ‫كهذه ترى بعض األطفال‬ ‫يدخن ويهرب من المدرسة ويتمارض‪ ،‬وتفقد متابعة األهل‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫لهم‪.‬‬ ‫الحرارية في فصل الصيف تواجه األطفال‪،‬‬ ‫المشكالت‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫جيد‪ ،‬ومن عناية فائقة بالسوائل المتناولة‬ ‫وال بد من تبريد ّ‬ ‫وأهمها الماء والعصير والطازج‪.‬‬ ‫واإلدمان اإللكتروني (على الحاسوب والتلفاز وجهاز الهاتف‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أمرا مؤرقا للمربين واألهل‪،‬‬ ‫النقال وألعاب الفيديو) صار‬ ‫إذ سحبت تلك األجهزة اإللكترونية األطفال من طفولتهم‪،‬‬ ‫وسرقت أوقاتهم الثمينة‪ ،‬التي يجب أن تستغل في التربية‬ ‫والتعليم‪.‬‬ ‫هناك في الواقع مشاكل ال تنتهي‪ّ ،‬‬ ‫وكلها تحتاج إلى عناية‬ ‫وتعاون وثيق بين األهل والمدرسة وجهات‬ ‫ودراية وإدراك‬ ‫ٍ‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أخرى مسؤولة‪ ،‬حفاظا على فلذات أكبادنا األطفال‪ .‬وكيف ال؟‬ ‫وهم ذخيرة المجتمع ومستقبله؟‬ ‫عودة سعيدة إلى العمل والدراسة بإذن الله‪ ،‬وعسى أن‬ ‫هم ًا‪.‬‬ ‫تكون الدراسة متعة أكثر من كونها ّ‬

‫باستثمارات تصل إلى أكثر من ‪ 4.4‬مليون درهم‬

‫عشرة مشاريع فائزة في الدورة األولى من حاضنة معاً االجتماعية‬ ‫في أبوظبي لدعم أصحاب الهمم‬ ‫أعلنت هيئة المساهمات المجتمعية ‪ً -‬‬ ‫معا عن الفائزين‬ ‫ً‬ ‫معا‬ ‫العشرة في الدورة األولى من برنامج حاضنة‬ ‫االجتماعية‪ ،‬والتي تندرج ضمن محور تنمية المجتمع‬ ‫ً‬ ‫«غدا ‪ »21‬الهادف إلى تحفيز األجندة‬ ‫في برنامج‬ ‫االقتصادية ألبوظبي‪.‬‬

‫ً‬ ‫فريقا‬ ‫وفي أغسطس من العام الحالي‪ ،‬تم تأهيل ‪25‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫مرشحا لعرض مشاريعهم على لجنة متخصصة بعد‬ ‫اجتيازهم لعملية اختيار دقيقة تم ضمن التصفيات‬ ‫النهائية‪ ،‬قامت اللجنة باختيار ‪ 10‬منهم ليشكّلوا الدورة‬ ‫األولى من البرنامج‪.‬‬

‫حضر حدث إعالن المشاريع العشرة الفائزة كل من‬ ‫معالي الشيخ عبد الله بن محمد آل حامد‪ ،‬رئيس‬ ‫دائرة الصحة بأبوظبي‪ ،‬معالي الدكتور مغير خميس‬ ‫الخييلي رئيس دائرة تنمية المجتمع‪ ،‬سعادة عبد الله‬ ‫عبد العالي الحميدان األمين العام لمؤسسة زايد‬ ‫العليا ألصحاب الهمم‪ ،‬سعادة المهندس حمد علي‬ ‫الظاهري‪ ،‬مدير عام هيئة أبوظبي للدعم االجتماعي‪،‬‬ ‫وسعادة سالمة عجالن العميمي‪ ،‬مدير عام هيئة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫معا‪.‬‬ ‫المساهمات المجتمعية –‬

‫ستتاح للفائزين الفرصة الختبار أفكارهم ومشاريعهم‬ ‫الناشئة‪ ،‬وفهم السوق‪ ،‬باإلضافة الى فرص‬ ‫المشاركة في ورش عمل والحصول على المشورة‬ ‫التي تساعدهم على تطوير أفكارهم وتحويلها الى‬ ‫منتجات وخدمات‪ ،‬ابتداء من شهر سبتمبر الجاري‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أسبوعا‪.‬‬ ‫وعلى مدى ‪16‬‬ ‫وتسعى ً‬ ‫معا إلى تعزيز ثقافة العطاء في إمارة أبوظبي‬ ‫وتحديد احتياجات المجتمع من العمل التطوعي‪،‬‬ ‫وتهدف إلى االستفادة من فرص ومبادرات التطوع‬ ‫االجتماعية القائمة والمساهمة في توفير الفرص‬ ‫الجديدة‪.‬‬

‫ً‬ ‫تطبيقا لتحويل الرسائل‬ ‫وتشمل المشاريع الفائزة‬ ‫الجوال إلى لغة اإلشارة‪ ،‬وآخر يساعد من‬ ‫النصية في‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫يعانون من إعاقات بصرية على التنقل في محيطهم‬ ‫من خالل أجهزة االستشعار وتقنيات اإلدراك البصري‪.‬‬ ‫فرصا متساوية ألصحاب‬ ‫باإلضافة إلى مشاريع تقدم‬ ‫ً‬ ‫الهمم في العمل والفعاليات الرياضية واألنشطة‬ ‫الترفيهية‪.‬‬

‫وبهذه المناسبة صرحت سعادة سالمة العميمي‪،‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫معا قائلة‪:‬‬ ‫مدير عام هيئة المساهمات المجتمعية ‪-‬‬ ‫«نحن سعداء للغاية بالفرق العشرة الفائزة في برنامج‬ ‫ً‬ ‫معا االجتماعية‪ ،‬وتركيزنا الحالي على مساعدة‬ ‫حاضنة‬ ‫رواد األعمال وأصحاب األفكار االجتماعية المبتكرة‬ ‫لتحقيق أحالمهم وتحويلها إلى واقع ملموس»‪.‬‬

‫ويهدف البرنامج الذي يعد األول من نوعه في‬ ‫المنطقة‪ ،‬إلى دعم وتنمية األفكار المبتكرة والمشاريع‬ ‫االجتماعية الناشئة‪ ،‬وتطويرها لتصبح مؤسسات‬ ‫اجتماعية أو منشآت أهلية يكون لها دور فاعل في‬ ‫مساعدة أصحاب الهمم على مواجهة التحديات التي‬ ‫حلوال مبتكرة‬ ‫تواجههم في المجتمع‪ ،‬وتوفر لهم‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تسهم في تحسين نمط حياتهم وتحقيق تطلعاتهم‪.‬‬

‫وأضافت‪« :‬سوف تسهم هذه المشاريع في وضع‬ ‫حلول اجتماعية مستدامة تسهم في تحسين نمط‬ ‫حياة أصحاب الهمم واالرتقاء بها في العاصمة‬ ‫أبوظبي‪ ،‬ودولة اإلمارات بشكل عام‪ ،‬ونطمح أن‬ ‫يصل تأثيرها في المستقبل إلى خارج الدولة‪ .‬نحن‬ ‫اآلن في مرحلة مهمة من الدورة األولى لبرنامج‬ ‫ً‬ ‫معا االجتماعية ونتطلع الى العمل مع أصحاب‬ ‫حاضنة‬ ‫هذه األفكار والمشاريع لتنفيذها على أرض الواقع‪».‬‬

‫كما سيقدم برنامج حاضنة ً‬ ‫معا االجتماعية الدعم الالزم‬ ‫والمتخصص لمساعدة هذه األفكار لتصبح مشاريع‬ ‫مستدامة‪ ،‬حيث يوفر اإلرشادات واألدوات الالزمة‬ ‫لتحقيق النمو مثل الدعم المادي والمعنوي‪ ،‬وتأمين‬ ‫مساحات للمكاتب ودعم الخبراء المختصين لإلرشاد‬ ‫والتوجيه‪ ،‬وإتاحة فرص الوصول إلى المستثمرين‪.‬‬ ‫وقد فاز ضمن الفرق العشرة النهائية ستة فرق‬ ‫محلية‪ ،‬وأربعة فرق من أنحاء العالم‪.‬‬

‫وستحصل كل فكرة فائزة على تمويل يصل إلى ‪200‬‬ ‫ألف درهم‪ ،‬وسيتم تقديم الدعم المالي المرحلي‬ ‫على كل إنجاز يصل إليه المشارك باإلضافة إلى‬ ‫نفقات المعيشة وتكاليف السكن للمشاركين غير‬ ‫المقيمين في أبوظبي‪.‬‬ ‫كما يوفر البرنامج فرص فريدة وقيمة للتواصل‬ ‫وبناء العالقات مع األفراد من خارج إطار البرنامج‪،‬‬ ‫كالمستثمرين وقادة القطاع الثالث وكبار الشخصيات‬ ‫وصناع القرار في مجاالت متخصصة على الصعيدين‬ ‫ً‬ ‫معا بتخصيص يوم‬ ‫اإلقليمي والعالمي‪ .‬وستقوم‬ ‫لطرح األفكار التي ابتكرتها الفرق العشرة الفائزة‬ ‫لدراسة وتقييم فرصة تمويلها من المستثمرين‬ ‫المشاركين‪.‬‬

‫ومنذ إطالق البرنامج في مايو من هذا العام تم‬ ‫ً‬ ‫معا االجتماعية أكثر من ‪130‬‬ ‫تقديم لمشروع حاضنة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫طلبا من بلدان عربية وعالمية مختلفة مثل اإلمارات‪،‬‬ ‫ومصر‪ ،‬واألردن‪ ،‬والبرازيل‪ ،‬والدنمارك‪ ،‬وفرنسا‪،‬‬ ‫ونيجيريا‪ ،‬والهند‪.‬‬

‫عمــل «الخزفيــات» التــي تســعى إلــى اســتخراج الطاقــة الســلبية‪ ،‬حيــث ســيتمكن المشــاركون مــن صنــع قطــع فنيــة‬ ‫باســتخدام طــرق مختلفــة‪ ،‬وورشــة عمــل «التصويــر الفوتوغرافــي» التــي تســتهدف الطــاب فــوق ‪ 14‬ســنة‪ ،‬وورشــة‬ ‫عمــل «الرســم باألضــواء» المصممــة لتطويــر المهــارات الفنيــة والتشــجيع علــى اإلبــداع‪ ،‬حيــث يســتخدم المشــاركون‬ ‫أمــا ورشــة «اليوغــا» للطــاب مــن ســن ‪ 10‬إلــى ‪ 16‬ســنة فهــي تشــجع علــى‬ ‫مصابيــح اصطناعيــة أثنــاء التصويــر‪ّ .‬‬ ‫ممارســة رياضــة هدفهــا دمــج العقــل والجســد ضمــن وحــدة واحــدة ُمتجانســة‪.‬‬ ‫أن برنامــج العــودة للمــدارس ‪ 2019‬يســعى إلــى تشــجيع الطــاب علــى القــراءة وزيــادة نســبة المشــاركة‬ ‫تجــدر اإلشــارة ّ‬ ‫الطالبيــة لهــذا العــام ومشــاركة المــدارس المجتمعيــة فــي بعــض الــورش‪ ،‬باإلضافــة إلــى خلــق جــو مــن المــرح والمتعــة‬ ‫المفيــدة فــي جميــع أفــرع مكتبــة‪.‬‬

‫أطلقــت دائــرة الثقافــة والســياحة –‬ ‫أبوظبــي برنامــج «العــودة للمــدارس‬ ‫‪ ،»2019‬والــذي يتضمــن مجموعــة‬ ‫متنوعــة مــن األنشــطة والفعاليــات‬ ‫ضمــن مبــادرات «مكتبــة» بهــدف‬ ‫تشــجيع األطفــال علــى القــراءة‬ ‫وتحفيزهــم علــى زيــارة المكتبــات‬ ‫بشــكل دوري‪.‬‬ ‫تقــام هــذه األنشــطة الشــيقة خــال‬ ‫الفتــرة الممتــدة مــن ‪ 15‬ولغايــة ‪26‬‬ ‫ســبتمبر الجــاري فــي كل مــن مكتبــة‬ ‫منتــزه خليفــة‪ ،‬والباهيــة‪ ،‬والوثبــة‪،‬‬ ‫ومكتبــة زايــد المركزيــة فــي العيــن‪،‬‬ ‫ومكتبــة المرفــأ‪.‬‬ ‫«العــودة‬ ‫برنامــج‬ ‫يســتهدف‬ ‫للمــدارس‪ »2019‬الطــاب مــن‬ ‫بــدء‬ ‫مختلــف المراحــل الدراســية‪،‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫مــن ريــاض األطفــال‪ ،‬وجميــع فئــات‬ ‫وحلقــات المــدارس الحكوميــة‬ ‫والخاصــة‪ ،‬والطــاب مــن الســكان‬ ‫المحيطيــن بالمناطــق القريبــة مــن‬ ‫أفــرع «مكتبــة»‪ ،‬والمؤسســات‬ ‫والمراكــز التعليميــة ألصحــاب الهمــم‬ ‫والمراكــز الخيريــة‪.‬‬ ‫يشــتمل البرنامــج علــى سلســلة‬ ‫متنوعــة مــن األنشــطة الثقافيــة‬ ‫والترفيهيــة‪ ،‬باإلضافــة إلــى عــدد‬ ‫مــن ورش العمــل التــي يكتســب مــن‬ ‫خاللهــا المشــاركون مهــارات التفكيــر‬ ‫واإلبــداع‪ ،‬ومنهــا ورشــة «مهــارات‬ ‫البرمجــة» للطــاب الذيــن تتــراوح‬ ‫أعمارهم من ســن ‪ 6‬إلى ‪ 9‬ســنوات‪،‬‬ ‫والتــي تتيــح لهــم فرصــة االطــاع‬ ‫علــى مبــادئ برمجــة الحواســيب مــن‬ ‫خــال التجربــة والتطبيــق‪ ،‬وورشــة‬ ‫«مســرح الظــل» التــي تحــث األطفال‬ ‫الذيــن تتــراوح أعمارهــم بيــن ســن ‪4‬‬ ‫إلــى ‪ 10‬ســنوات علــى تعلــم مهارات‬ ‫الخيــال والتأليــف وقــراءة القصــة‪.‬‬ ‫وقــال عبداللــه ماجــد آل علــي‪ ،‬المدير‬ ‫التنفيــذي لقطــاع دار الكتــب باإلنابــة‬ ‫‪The Source‬‬

‫فــي دائــرة الثقافــة والســياحة‬ ‫أبوظبــي‪« :‬نحــرص علــى تنظيــم‬‫فعاليــات برنامــج العــودة إلــى‬ ‫المــدارس للعــام الثانــي علــى‬ ‫التوالــي لمــا يوفــره هــذا البرنامــج‬ ‫للمشــاركين مــن فرصــة فريــدة‬ ‫ليعيشــوا تجربــة تعليميــة تفاعليــة‬ ‫فــي بيئــة إبداعيــة ومبتكــرة‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أيضــا باإلقبــال الكبيــر‬ ‫ونســعد‬ ‫الــذي شــهدته األنشــطة المتنوعــة‬ ‫مــن قبــل األطفــال واألمهــات‪،‬‬ ‫فــي كل أفــرع مكتباتنــا»‪.‬‬ ‫وتابــع‪« :‬لقــد القــى برنامــج العــودة‬ ‫إلــى المــدارس العــام الماضــي‬ ‫تفاعــا مــع األنشــطة والعــروض‬ ‫ً‬ ‫التــي تماشــت مــع مواهــب‬ ‫الحضــور وتطلعاتهــم‪ ،‬وســاعدتهم‬ ‫فــي التغلــب علــى صعوبــات‬ ‫العــودة إلــى المدرســة‪ ،‬بعــد انتهــاء‬ ‫اإلجــازة الصيفيــة‪ ،‬كمــا ســاعدت‬ ‫األطفــال الذيــن يدخلــون المدرســة‬ ‫للمــرة األولــى للتعــرف علــى‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ســنا‪،‬‬ ‫غيرهــم مــن األطفــال األكبــر‬ ‫لتحبيبهــم أكثــر بالمدرســة»‪.‬‬ ‫كمــا يتضمــن برنامــج العــودة‬ ‫للمــدارس ورشــة عمــل «فــن‬ ‫ومهــارات الموزاييــك» للطــاب‬ ‫مــن ‪ 9‬إلــى ‪ 12‬ســنة‪ ،‬والتــي‬ ‫كيفيــة‬ ‫مناقشــة‬ ‫تســتهدف‬ ‫دمــج قصــة مــع الموزاييــك‬ ‫(الفسيفســاء) وتوظيفهــا فــي‬ ‫لوحــة أو جداريــة‪ .‬ومــن جهــة أخــرى‬ ‫تمثــل ورشــة «تصميم الفســاتين»‬ ‫إحــدى ســبل ّ‬ ‫تعلــم الفنــون البصرية‬ ‫التــي تعتمــد علــى قــص ولصــق‬ ‫العديــد مــن المــواد ليتكــون شــكل‬ ‫جديــد للوحــة فنيــة مصنعــة مــن‬ ‫مــواد مختلفــة‪ ،‬مثــل القمــاش‬ ‫واألســاك والبالونــات واألصــداف‬ ‫والصــوف‪ ،‬وتأتــي ورشــة عمــل‬ ‫«تزييــن المالبــس» لتتيــح للطــاب‬ ‫فرصــة زخرفــة وتزييــن المالبــس‬ ‫بطريقــة شــيقة وممتعــة‪.‬‬

‫وتقــدم ورشــة عمــل «األســاك‬ ‫الكهربائيــة» للطــاب مــن ســن‬ ‫‪ 10‬إلــى ‪ 14‬ســنة معلومــات عــن‬ ‫أساســيات اإللكترونيــات والدوائــر‬ ‫اإللكترونيــة‪ ،‬حيــث يتعلمــون مــن‬ ‫خاللهــا مكونــات الدائــرة اإللكترونيــة‬ ‫والفــرق بيــن الدوائــر المفتوحــة‬ ‫والدوائــرة المغلقــة‪ ،‬والفــرق‬ ‫بيــن المــواد الموصلــة والعازلــة‬ ‫أمــا عــن ورشــتي عمــل‬ ‫للكهربــاء‪ّ .‬‬ ‫«رحلــة إلــى الفضــاء» و»البيانــات‬ ‫الضخمــة»‪ ،‬فتســتهدفان طــاب‬ ‫المســار المتقــدم‪ ،‬حيــث يناقشــون‬ ‫فــي الورشــة األولــى تجاربهــم فــي‬ ‫بنــاء كيــوب ســات‪ ،‬وســيتعرفون‬ ‫خــال الورشــة الثانيــة علــى أهميــة‬ ‫البيانــات الضخمــة وكيفيــة تحليلهــا‬ ‫فــي مجــال الفضــاء واألقمــار‬ ‫الصناعيــة‪.‬‬ ‫وتعــد ورشــة عمــل «الخصوصيــة‬ ‫علــى اإلنترنــت» التــي تســتهدف‬ ‫الطــاب فــوق ‪ 15‬ســنة ورشــة‬ ‫توعويــة تســهم فــي المحافظــة‬ ‫علــى خصوصيــة مســتخدمي‬ ‫وســائل التواصــل االجتماعــي‪،‬‬ ‫وتنبــه المشــاركين إلــى أهميــة‬ ‫إتخــاذ اإلجــراءات األمنيــة الالزمــة‬ ‫حتــى يتمكنــون مــن إســتخدام تلــك‬ ‫الوســائل دون تعريــض أنفســهم‬ ‫أو غيرهــم للمخاطــر‪ ،‬بينمــا يتعلــم‬ ‫المشــاركون فــي ورشــة عمــل‬ ‫مبــادئ‬ ‫الرقمــي»‬ ‫«المبرمــج‬ ‫البرمجــة باســتخدام لغــة بايثــون‪،‬‬ ‫كمــا يتعرفــون علــى بعــض األجــزاء‬ ‫المســتخدمة فــي الدائــرة الكهربائيــة‬ ‫مثــل األســاك والمقاومــات‬ ‫واألضــواء‪.‬‬ ‫يتضمــن البرنامــج أيضـ ًـا ورشــة عمل‬ ‫بعنــوان «كوكــب الشــوكوالتة»‪،‬‬ ‫والتــي تبدأ بعــرض تقديمي يتناول‬ ‫كيفيــة اختيــار النــوع الجيــد والصحــي‬ ‫مــن الشــوكوالتة‪ ،‬باإلضافــة إلــى‬ ‫إختبــار تــذوق وعــرض حــي لصناعــة‬ ‫قوالــب الشــكوالتة والرســم عليهــا‬ ‫وتغليفهــا‪ ،‬باإلضافــة إلــى ورشــة‬
