Browsing through Netflix the other night I came across a documentary that my best mate had mentioned in a very long voice message which she sent from the other side of the world. The points that intrigued me most were about the inverse link between the insatiable insidious consumerism that seems to have overtaken modern society and the overall level of happiness, or rather lack thereof that is the unfortunate result. As someone who was raised in a “more was definitely more” household I was surprised by how strongly the message resonated. For me personally, I found the notion that stuff is just a distraction from your life rather shattering when I realised that for me personally it was true.

The park gears up for its spookiest Halloween ever from 16 October - 2 November, with a new ‘Brick or Treat’ experience with HARIBO, the return of Cobweb Castle, and exciting themed activities for the entire family.

Kids are invited to dress up in their most creative Halloween costumes when visiting LEGOLAND Dubai, and be surprised as they see the park transform for the spooky season with a LEGO pumpkin patch, a giant spider and cobwebs covering the park’s iconic castle. The new ‘Brickor-Treat’ experience begins with a dance performance by LEGO® Brick characters on Cobweb stage, after which little ones will be handed Halloween candy bags as they run off to Brick-or-Treat stations around the park to pick up scrumptious HARIBO candy.

Guests can also head to Cobweb Castle to play a variety of Halloween themed games, try out an easy-to-learn dance routine with LEGO Brick characters on the Cobweb stage, or help build a 3-metre x 3-metre LEGO spider from DUPLO® bricks. To finish off their day, little and big monsters can bust some monster moves with LEGO characters at the Fang-tastic Daily Dance Party.

For the perfect picture moment with the family, look out for LEGO Frankenstein (or Frankie, as he’s better known) and other LEGO characters who are set to return to the park for the awesome Halloween celebration. Garden City British School raises awareness for Breast Cancer Garden City British School commemorated Breast Cancer Awareness month by holding an Awareness Day on the 10th October 2019.

concluded with a 20 minute silent walk alongside the wadi outside the school, proudly carrying a banner stating their support for Breast Cancer Awareness. This intrigued motorists passing by so much so that they were waving and chanting words of support from their vehicles as they drove past the teachers doing their walk.

The school’s reception area and hallways were lit up with pink ribbons and balloons, while students, teachers and parents were all proudly dressed in pink.

“Cancer is very close to my heart as my daughter’s mother-in-law has been going through this. Hence, I feel it is very important to create an awareness in the community of the importance of not just being aware but also to take action by ensuring early diagnosis which is the best way to deal with it. At Garden City British School, this is one of the reasons why we promote healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle as this is the starting point to combat cancer.” - Jaana Wilkko, School Principal

The day commenced with its usual assembly which started off with the singing of the National Anthem… what followed this, definitely had a ‘touch of pink’.

Students from various grades performed dances and recited poetry all focused at raising awareness around breast cancer. A parent of one of GCBS’ students, Doctor Liaquat Bibi from NMC Hospital delivered an informative talk which had the little ones captivated from start to finish.

“The presence of cancer was something that I have been in for more than a decade. I have some of my close friends and family who have either succumbed to it or have gloriously survived it. At Garden City British School, we feel that it is important to have children and adults be a part of this so that, in our own little way, we will play our part in being responsible in making the society aware of this intruder. While doing so, we wish to stand is solidarity with those dear ones across the globe who are suffering from cancer and commit to pray for their healing.” - Joseph David, School Vice Principal

After the assembly and before returning to their respective classes, the students, teachers and parents gathered outside the school auditorium where they released pink balloons into the sky. The balloon release was performed in solidarity with those fighting cancer, in memory of those who lost their battle to cancer, and in salutation to those who won the fight against cancer!

Throughout the school day, all classroom activities were centred round breast cancer awareness. During break time, the students had a pink cupcake bake sale, a Pink Carpet selfie booth photo opportunity and also offered manicure services to teachers and parents. Each pupil was also requested to donate 5AED towards the day’s campaign. All funds raised on the day were donated to a local cancer centered charity organization.

The parents and teachers of Garden City British School did a phenomenal job of raising awareness among students, and together they all stand in hope of finding a cure!

Through poetry, music, art, drama and the fun activities of the day, the students of Garden City British School were educated on the topic and gave back in a meaningful way towards the fight for a cure.

Principal Jaana Wilkko said the main aim of getting students involved was to: -Talk to students about cancer in such a way that they would understand some aspect of the fight against cancer.

- Educate the students on the importance of living a healthy and active lifestyle - Show the students, that by giving a little as a community, we can make a big impact on finding/funding a cure for cancer or indeed any worthwhile cause.

Al Ain welcomes the first PET FESTIVAL The Al Ain Amblers Rugby Club played host to the first ever “Al Ain Pet Festival” earlier this month. Organized

by PETME Magazine and Showline FZE the Al Ain Pet Festival was presented by Eurovets, in association with the Al Ain Municipality and Royal Veterinary Centre. The event was a great day out for the whole family to enjoy as well as learn about animal care and welfare. Several dogs were available for adoption for those wanting to take home their best friend.

Event highlights included a wonderful interactive show by the Abu Dhabi police K9 dog unit where children were invited to take part in various exercises with the animals.

Want to change your body but don’t know where to start?

The diet has a good mixture of foods (which you will choose) so this will be easy to adhere to and wont feel to restrictive. You should never eat things you do not like, if you get sick of something it comes out. HOW HAS BODYBUILDING CHANGED YOUR LIFE? I would say the main skill it has given me is organization. To be in competition shape you have to be on the ball 24 hours per day. This regiment has transferred to my work and even family life and his made my quality of life better every year.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START FM PHYSIQUES? Although I studied sports nutrition at University from 1996-2000, I only started applying it to my everyday life around 6-7 years ago. In this time, I have felt better and more productive every year. I have also found out that it doesn’t have to be as restrictive as people may think. It took me a long time but I can confidently say I have found a nice balance. The thought behind the business was to help other people find the same thing. I have worked with around 160 people in the past 12 months and having people reach out and say I have had even the smallest part in an upgrade to their quality of life is awesome. This is something I don’t think anyone would tire of.

Deep Tissue Massage for wellbeing Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that is mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues.

It may also promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

Deep tissue massage offers both physical and psychological benefits.

Unlike other massage techniques that focus on relaxation, deep tissue massage helps to treat muscle pain and improve stiffness. But it can still help to you unwind mentally, too.

A 2014 study involving 59 participants found that deep tissue massage helped to reduce pain in people with chronic low back. The authors likened its effects to those of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen (Advil).

How does it compare to Swedish massage?

Deep tissue massage and Swedish massage are two different types of massage therapy. Both use some of the same strokes, but they have different uses and vary greatly when it comes to the amount of pressure used.

Here are the key differences between deep tissue massage and Swedish massage: Intended use. Deep tissue massage is primarily used to treat chronic pain and muscle and sports-related injuries.

Swedish massage is mainly used to promote relaxation and reduce muscle tension caused by everyday activities, such as sitting at a computer.

Pressure. Swedish massage is a gentler form of massage that uses far less tension than deep tissue massage. Both types involve use of the palms and fingers to knead and manipulate your tissues, but the elbows and forearms may also be used to apply increased pressure during a deep tissue massage.

Area of focus. Deep tissue massage targets the inner layers of your mus-

cles. It’s used to treat muscle and tendon injuries, pain, and stiffness in your major muscle groups and joints. Swedish massage targets the superficial layers of muscle and focuses on the parts of your body that tend to hold the most tension, such as your neck, shoulders, and back.

Minimalism - Just another fad or potentially a sustainable way of life?

So what is this minimalism thing? Minimalism is a tool that can assist you in finding freedom. Freedom from fear.

Freedom from worry. Freedom from overwhelm. Freedom from guilt. Freedom from depression. Freedom from the trappings of the consumer culture we’ve built our lives around.

Real freedom.

raise a family and have a career? If these things are important to you, then that’s wonderful. Minimalism simply allows you to make these decisions more consciously, more deliberately.

There are plenty of successful minimalists who lead appreciably different lives. Our friend Leo Babauta has a wife and six children. Joshua Becker has a career he enjoys, a family he loves, and a house and a car in suburbia. Conversely, Colin Wright owns 51 things and travels all over the world, and Tammy Strobel and her husband live in a “tiny house” and are completely car-free. Even though each of these people are different, they all share two things in common: they are minimalists, and minimalism has allowed them to pursue purpose-driven lives.

That doesn’t mean there’s anything inherently wrong with owning material possessions.

Today’s problem seems to be the meaning we assign to our stuff: we tend to give too much meaning to our things, often forsaking our health, our relationships, our passions, our personal growth, and our desire to contribute beyond ourselves. Want to own a car or a house? Great, have at it! Want to

Minimalists search for happiness not through things, but through life itself; thus, it’s up to you to determine what is necessary and what is superfluous in your life.

Through our essays we intend to present to you ideas of how to achieve a minimalist lifestyle without adhering to a strict code or an arbitrary set of rules. A word of warning, though: it isn’t easy to take the first steps, but your journey towards minimalism gets much easier—and more rewarding—the further you go.

The first steps often take radical changes in your mindset, actions, and habits. Fret not, though—we want to help: we’ve documented our experiences so you can learn from our failures and successes, applying what we’ve learned to your own situation, assisting you in leading a more meaningful life.

About The Minimalists At first glance, people might think the point of minimalism is only to get rid of material possessions: Eliminating. Jettisoning. Extracting. Detaching. De-cluttering. Paring down. Letting go. But that’s a mistake.

And yet with all that stuff, we weren’t satisfied. There was a gaping void, and working 80 hours a week just to buy more stuff didn’t fill the void. It only brought more debt, stress, anxiety, fear, loneliness, guilt, overwhelm, depression.

True, removing the excess is an important part of the recipe—but it’s just one ingredient. If we’re concerned solely with the stuff, though, we’re missing the larger point.

What’s worse, we didn’t have control of our time, and thus we didn’t control our own lives. So, in 2009, we took back control using the principles of minimalism.

Minimalists don’t focus on having less, less, less. We focus on making room for more: more time, more passion, more creativity, more experiences, more contribution, more contentment, more freedom. Clearing the clutter from life’s path helps make that room.

Minimalism is the thing that gets us past the things so we can make room for life’s important things— which aren’t things at all.

For The Minimalists, it all started with a lingering discontent. Nearly a decade ago, while approaching age 30, we had achieved everything that was supposed to make us happy: six-figure careers, luxury cars, oversized houses, and all the stuff to clutter every corner of our consumer-driven lives.

Career frustration is greater than my career fulfillment Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

Frustrated Corporate Executive I normally consider myself relatively educated, fairly switched on and pretty smart, yet I just don’t seem to be able to change and get beyond frustration in my current workplace.

I know that my frustration is easy to blame on others like my boss or my colleagues, the budget or the resources. However, I’ve come to realize that I’m also a player in this ‘story’. But why then is it so difficult for me to get started in being part of a solution. I don’t want to be wasting my time getting nowhere, I don’t want to keep having to do things that aren’t in my areas of interest and I most certainly don’t want to be where I am, completely unfulfilled, bored, simply surviving and existing five years from now, or even 3 years, 2 years or even next year!

Deep Inner Knowing I recognize there are environmental factors that are frustrating which I simply cannot change. I will have to find work arounds for those, yet the first thing I need to work on is myself, given that I have as much impact on the situation as the other factors.

To move towards career fulfillment, the first thing is to become energized by a career ambition that would excite and delight me every single day. If I cannot see that in my mind, then what hope have others got in knowing what I want and helping me with opportunities to achieve it. Is it tangible enough that I can describe it, show examples of it and bring it into my everyday language and interactions.

is that I include people in my circle of associates who know what I am speaking of, who have greater reach than I do, who can introduce me to like-minded professionals. I need to read more about this, ask for opportunities to volunteer my services, find ways of increased networking in the field and even identify opportunities for unpaid opportunity to observe or assist. I need to ensure all elements in my human ‘ecosystem’ allow me to eat and breath this dream, both in and out of my current work.

Thirdly, I need to interact with frustration at work through a lens of ‘what I’m aiming for’. The future career desire will become my filter, helping me to decide if a particular frustration is or is not relevant to my long-term fulfillment. If it can have a negative impact, then I will find a way to positively impact it both for my own growth and to positively impact the environment I am current immersed in.

being a developer at the cutting edge of the IT industry. What Ahmed was frustrated by was the fact that his boss was not demonstrating leadership capability. Each time Ahmed developed a product, he was told it was not suitable and had to start again. The resulting waste of time and energy was so demotivating for him. Ahmed was starting to have thoughts of just ‘attending work’, doing the minimum possible, collecting the salary at the end of the month and leaving on time each day, but he knew deep down that wouldn’t satisfy him, nor would it help with his desired career stepping stone of leading an IT development team in a busy project-based department. It was time to be a part of the solution, yet at the same time, not make his boss look or feel bad.

The department grew in efficiency, the outcomes were increasingly ‘on time and on budget’ and his own credibility was soaring.

Ahmed knew his career passion and goal, recognized the world is never perfect, yet invested effort in ensuring his work today is a subset of his ultimate career fulfillment tomorrow.

What it all means Fulfillment needs to have a template to be measured against, one that is graphical and inspirational for you, creating opportunity for emotional connection to it; this is key. It can then be placed ‘front and centre’ of your work and indeed your life (when we work at our dreams, it is simply an extension of who we are and not a task to be completed); allow it to drive all that you do. Constantly ask yourself: what have I done this week that has taken me one step closer, even in the face of knock-backs, adversity and blockage. How am I equipping myself to cope when blockages are out of my control? How have I set my dream up for success? How will I celebrate any small step forward, and recognize positive progress.

Ahmed created a checklist showing the stages of product development, checkpoints to be introduced, resources to be listed and unique inform at i o n relevant for each stage.

He intentionally kept it simple, so the change wouldn’t be ‘too much too soon’. He presented a business case for its introduction, and felt a sense of accomplishment when the boss approved its implementation.

When steps towards career fulfillment are taken and reap progression, it demonstrates your inner power to create change before unwanted change creates you. What will you choose?

ISSF World Cup Final Shotgun Concludes in Al Ain The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Final 2019 took place in Al Ain - UAE, from 9-14 October, 2019.

This was the inaugural appearance for the Mixed Team events on a World Cup Final stage. Athletes from different countries came together to form mixed teams.

Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, member of the Executive Council, in the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club.

In the Trap Mixed Team Final Catherine Skinner from Australia and Khaled Almudhaf from Kuwait won Gold.

Laetisha Scanlan from Australia teamed up with Lyndon Sosa from Luxembourg to take the second place.

The UAE Shooting & Archery Federation had the honor to organize and host the second World Cup Final Shotgun Championship, under the sponsorship of the General Authority of Sports.

Aeriel Alease Skinner from the USA and Josip Glasnovic from Croatia finished in third place.

This competition is one of the most challenging of the ISSF sports, and included a shotgun or trap-skeet competition for men, women and a mixed team.

In the Skeet Mixed Team Final Luke Peter Argiro from Australia and Caitlin Connor from the USA won Gold.

HE Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum from the United Arab Emirates and Amber Hill from Great Britain took Silver.

Seventy elite shooters from 25 countries, participated and showed-case their world-renowned skills against each other, vying for the championship title.

Francisca Crovetto Chadid from Chile and Christian Elliott from the USA were in third place.

4 gold medals were up for contention in Individual Men›s & Women›s Trap and in Men›s & Women›s Skeet competitions.

The first 4 teams in each of the finals were awarded prize money from the ISSF President.

On the second day of the competition, the 4 individual medal winners were decided in closely fought finals.

Aeriel Alease Skinner from the USA won Gold in the Trap Women›s competition in her first World Cup Final appearance. Laetisha Scanlan from Australia won the Silver medal and Alessia Lezzi from Italy won Bronze.

The Trap Men›s final was very dramatic and emotional.

In a tightly fought battle, Mauro De Filippis from Italy, won the Gold medal. Alexey Alipov from the Russian Federation and Alberto Fernandez from Spain were in second and third places respectively.

Luigi Lodde from Italy and Vincent Hancock from the USA fought for the Gold medal right up to the last shot, with only one target separating both athletes at the end. Lodde won the Final and equaled the World Record. Hancock had to settle for the silver medal. Bronze medal was won by Azmy Mehelba from Egypt.

The President’s Trophy in the Mixed Trap and Skeet Team events brought the ISSF World Cup Shotgun Final in Al Ain (UAE) to conclusion.

World’s oldest known natural pearl discovered on Marawah Island The oldest known natural pearl in the world has been discovered by Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi archaeologists working at a Neolithic site on Marawah Island, just off the coast of Abu Dhabi.

The carbon dating indicates that the Abu Dhabi Pearl is older than both these discoveries.

Dubbed the ‘Abu Dhabi Pearl’, it was found in layers that have been radiocarbon dated to 5,800-5,600 BCE, during the Neolithic period.

The discovery is proof that pearls and oysters were being used in the UAE nearly 8,000 years ago, and represents the earliest known evidence for pearling yet discovered anywhere in the world.

The Neolithic sites on the island of Marawah were first identified in 1992 dur5ing a survey carried out by the Ab uDhabiIslands Archaeological Survey, ADIAS. Subsequent excavations have shown them to include numerous collapsed stone structures, the earliest architecture yet discovered in the UAE. Aside from the priceless Abu Dhabi Pearl, significant finds from the key Marawah site have included an imported ceramic vase from the ‘Ubaid civilisation in Mesopotamia (Iraq), beautifully worked flint arrowheads and shell and stone beads. Numerous painted plaster vessel fragments were also discovered and represent the earliest known decorative art yet discovered in the UAE. At the beginning of 2020, a major new excavation will take place to uncover more of the settlement.

Pearls were precious elements during the Neolithic period, certainly falling into the category of luxury and used for adornment. The priceless and historically significant Abu Dhabi Pearl will feature in the upcoming Louvre Abu Dhabi exhibition ‘10,000 Years of Luxury’, where it will be on display to the public for the very first time since its discovery.

It has been suggested that ancient pearls were possibly traded with Mesopotamia in exchange for highly-decorated ceramics and other goods. The finds at the Jebel Buhais cemetery suggest that pearls were also probably worn as jewellery by the local population.

Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi, said, “The Abu Dhabi Pearl is a stunning find, testimony to the ancient origins of our engagement with the sea. The discovery of the oldest pearl in the world in Abu Dhabi makes it clear that so much of our recent economic and cultural history has deep roots that stretch back to the dawn of prehistory. Marawah Island is one of our most valuable archaeological sites, and excavations continue in the hope of discovering even more evidence of how our ancestors lived, worked and thrived.”

The art of pearling required an in-depth knowledge of pearl beds and their locations and expert seafaring skills. Once these were mastered by the ancient inhabitants of Marawah, pearling was to remain a mainstay of the UAE’s economy for millennia. The late 16th Century Venetian jeweller, Gasparo Balbi, who travelled through the region, mentions the islands off the coast of Abu Dhabi as a source of pearls. The industry flourished until the 1930s.

Applications for the National Pavilion UAE’s 2020 Venice Internship Applications are now open for aspiring cultural professionals to intern at the National Pavilion UAE’s exhibition at the 2020 Venice Biennale.

21 students and young professionals from the UAE will be selected through a competitive application process to participate in the unique Venice Internship program, which includes educational training like workshops, lectures and studio visits, as well as hands-on experience.

Selected interns will each spend one month in Venice between May and November 2020, and will be responsible for managing and overseeing the UAE’s exhibition. The National Pavilion UAE’s interns are ambassadors for the nation, sharing its story with visitors from all around the world. Applications are open to individuals interested in arts, architecture, diplomacy, international relations or representing the UAE on this significant global platform.

The 2020 exhibition, curated by architects Wael Al Awar and Kenichi Teramoto, will address the Biennale’s overall theme ‘How Will We Live Together’ by exploring how salt from the UAE’s Sabkha could be used as an environmentally-sensitive alternative to modern construction materials.

Strawberry Blueberry Lemonade Spritzer INGREDIENTS 1/2 cup Cane Sugar 1/2 cup water 1 lb. strawberries, hulled, sliced 1 pint of blueberries 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves {plus more for garnish} 1/2 cup lemon juice 4 cups of sparkling water

INSTRUCTIONS •

To make the syrup, combine the 1/2 cup pure cane sugar sugar and 1/2 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove and let cool.

Use a muddler to crush the mint leaves and 1/2 of the pint of strawberries to release the mint oils and strawberry juices.

Do not strain the mixture.

Add the muddled strawberry and mint to a large pitcher along with the remaining strawberries and blueberries (save a few strawberries and blueberries for garnish).

Add the lemon juice and the cooled syrup and stir.

Once ready to serve the drinks, add the sparkling water and stir to combine.

‫«أكشن بارك» مساحة ترفيهية مثالية للباحثين عن أجواء الحركة والتشويق‬ ‫تستعد «الست إكزت»‪ ،‬وجهة عربات الطعام في الهواء‬ ‫«مراس»‪ ،‬إلطالق المزيد من فعاليات الحركة‬ ‫الطلق‪ ،‬من ِ‬ ‫والتشويق‪ ،‬مع افتتاح المحطة الجديدة لألنشطة الترفيهية‬ ‫الداخلية والخارجية «أكشن بارك» في « الست إكزت باتجاه‬ ‫ً‬ ‫اعتبارا من نهاية شهر أكتوبر الحالي‪.‬‬ ‫أبوظبي»‪،‬‬ ‫وترحب «أكشن بارك» بالعائالت والمقيمين والسياح من‬ ‫جميع األعمار في موقع واحد حافل بالحركة والتشويق يضم‬ ‫لعبة كرات الطالء «بينت بول بارك»‪ ،‬وأول منزل مقلوب‬ ‫ً‬ ‫رأسا على عقب «أبسايد داون هاوس» في منطقة الشرق‬ ‫األوسط وشمال أفريقيا‪ ،‬وغرفة التحطيم «سماش روم»‪.‬‬ ‫وستكتمل تجارب «أكشن بارك» على مراحل منفصلة‪ ،‬حيث‬ ‫أوال‪ ،‬في حين‬ ‫ستفتح غرفة التحطيم «سماش روم» أبوابها ً‬ ‫تستكمل باقي أجزاء المحطة بحلول نهاية العام الحالي‪.‬‬ ‫وتقوم غرفة التحطيم «سماش روم» على إطالق أول تجربة‬ ‫(التنفيس عن الغضب) في الشرق األوسط‪ .‬ومن المقرر أن‬ ‫تكون الغرفة جاهزة بحلول عيد الهالوين في ‪ 31‬أكتوبر ‪2019‬‬ ‫حيث ستتيح للزوار فرصة التنفيس عن غضبهم أو أي مشاعر‬ ‫سلبية لديهم عبر تكسير بعض أجهزة الكمبيوتر أو اللوحات‬ ‫أو القطع الزجاجية أو األجهزة اإللكترونية وتحويلها إلى قطع‬ ‫متناثرة‪ ،‬حيث يمكن للزوار االختيار من بين خمس فئات‬ ‫للتنفيس عن الغضب‪ .‬ضعوا نظاراتكم والسترات الواقية‪،‬‬ ‫واستعدوا لتجربة رائعة!‬

‫مهرجان الحرف والصناعات التقليدية السادس ينطلق في‬ ‫سوق القطارة في ‪ 30‬أكتوبر‬ ‫تحت شعار حرفة األجداد‪ ،‬فخر األحفاد‬

‫تحت رعاية سمو الشيخ طحنون بن محمد آل نهيان ممثل‬ ‫الحاكم في منطقة العين‪ ،‬تنظم دائرة الثقافة والسياحة –‬ ‫أبوظبي مهرجان الحرف والصناعات التقليدية في نسخته‬ ‫السادسة‪ ،‬وذلك في الفترة من ‪ 30‬أكتوبر ولغاية ‪16‬‬ ‫نوفمبر المقبل في سوق القطارة في العين‪.‬‬

‫يسعى المهرجان إلى زيادة الوعي بأهمية الصناعات‬ ‫التقليدية والدور الذي تمثله‪ ،‬ودعم ومساندة األسر المنتجة‬ ‫المتخصصة في ممارسة الحرف والصناعات التقليدية‪،‬‬ ‫وتطوير منتجات الحرف والصناعات التقليدية بما يتالءم‬ ‫مع األسواق المعاصرة‪ ،‬باإلضافة إلى التعريف بالحرف‬ ‫والصناعات التقليدية المتوارثة بدولة اإلمارات والعناصر‬ ‫التراثية األخرى والترويج لها‪ ،‬مما يسهم في الترويج‬ ‫لمنطقة العين كوجهة سياحية وثقافية‪ ،‬والمساهمة في‬ ‫تسويق منتجات الحرف والصناعات التقليدية‪.‬‬

‫وتحت شعار «حرفة األجداد‪ ،‬فخر األحفاد»‪ ،‬ينظم المهرجان‬ ‫سلسلة متميزة وفريدة من نوعها من الفعاليات وورش‬ ‫العمل التي تستهدف ممارسي الحرف والصناعات‬ ‫التقليدية في الدولة‪ ،‬والجهات المتخصصة في بيع‬ ‫وتسويق المنتجات التقليدية‪ ،‬والهيئات والمؤسسات‬ ‫الحكومية واألهلية المعنية بالمحافظة على الحرف‬ ‫والصناعات التقليدية وإنتاجها وتطويرها‪ ،‬باإلضافة إلى‬ ‫المؤسسات التربوية والتعليمية‪.‬‬

‫كما يهدف المهرجان إلى تحقيق مخرجات عدة مهمة‪ ،‬منها‬ ‫مشاركة ودعم ‪ 120‬أسرة منتجة‪ ،‬وزيادة دخلها من خالل‬ ‫تسويق منتجاتها التراثية‪ ،‬وتحفيزها على اإلبداع واالبتكار‬ ‫في منتجاتها التراثية‪.‬‬

‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫سنويا‬ ‫حدثا‬ ‫يعد مهرجان الحرف والصناعات التقليدية‬ ‫يهدف إلى التعريف بالحرف والصناعات التقليدية التراثية‬ ‫واستقطاب الحرفيين الذين يمارسون فنونها ويعملون‬ ‫على صونها واستدامة ممارستها والترويج لها‪ ،‬إلى جانب‬ ‫توظيفها كمصدر أساسي من مصادر الدخل الوطني‪.‬‬ ‫يتضمن مهرجان الحرف والصناعات التقليدية الذي يقام‬ ‫في سوق القطارة في منطقة العين مجموعة متنوعة‬ ‫من األنشطة التراثية والثقافية الترفيهية‪.‬‬

‫تتضمن الفعاليات واألنشطة التي ستقام في المهرجان‬ ‫الفنون الشعبية مثل‪ :‬الرزفة‪ ،‬والعيالة‪ ،‬والربابة‪ ،‬وفن‬ ‫العازي‪ ،‬والتغرودة‪ ،‬والشلة‪ ،‬واليولة‪ ،‬باإلضافة إلى األلعاب‬ ‫ً‬ ‫عروضا حية‬ ‫الشعبية‪ .‬وسيقدم الحرفيون في المهرجان‬ ‫حول مهاراتهم اليدوية في صناعات عدة من بينها‪ :‬صناعة‬ ‫الخوص‪ ،‬والحبال‪ ،‬والسدو‪ ،‬والتلي‪ ،‬والفخار‪ ،‬والغزل‪،‬‬ ‫والرحى‪ ،‬والخياطة‪ .‬عالوة على ذلك‪ ،‬يقدم المهرجان ورش‬ ‫عمل تستهدف الطالب‪ ،‬منها عروض الصقارة‪ ،‬وعروض‬ ‫الحرف‪ ،‬والرسم والتلوين والتشكيل‪.‬‬

‫وقال سعيد حمد الكعبي‪ ،‬مدير إدارة التراث المعنوي في‬ ‫دائرة الثقافة والسياحة – أبوظبي‪« :‬يعود مهرجان الحرف‬ ‫ً‬ ‫عاما بعد عام‬ ‫القطارة‬ ‫والصناعات التقليدية إلى سوق‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ليجسد حرصنا في دائرة الثقافة والسياحة ‪ -‬أبوظبي على‬ ‫صون إرث األجداد المتمثل في حرفهم وصناعاتهم التي‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ومثلت وسيلة للتكيف مع البيئة ومصدر‬ ‫أنتجوها بأيديهم‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أيضا أهمية الحفاظ‬ ‫رزق للعديد منهم‪ ،‬ويعكس المهرجان‬ ‫على التراث لتعزيز وعي األجيال القادمة بقيمة الموروث‬ ‫ً‬ ‫متكامال‬ ‫برنامجا‬ ‫وتاريخ الدولة الغني‪ .‬ويقدم المهرجان‬ ‫ً‬ ‫من الفعاليات واألنشطة الثقافية والتراثية التي تالئم‬ ‫كافة األعمارليشرك األسرة كاملة في التفاعل مع التراث‬ ‫ومكوناته وفنونه‪».‬‬

‫مجلس السياحة األوغندي يطلق حملة سفر حصرية للشرق األوسط‬

‫أوال» لجذب سكان دول الخليج ليصبح كل فرد أول من يتمتع‬ ‫«ج ِرب أوغندا ً‬ ‫حملة َ‬ ‫بتجارب الحياة الثقافية والطبيعية والحياة البرية الغنية التي توفرها أوغندا‬ ‫األوغندية‪ ،‬حيث يتم إجراء العديد من أنشطة تسويق‬ ‫الوجهة السياحية األوغندية‪ ،‬بما في ذلك إطالق‬ ‫الحملة في المنطقة‪ ،‬لجعل أوغندا في متناول‬ ‫المسافرين ووكالء السفر على حد سواء‪ ،‬لضمان‬ ‫أن تصبح أوغندا وجهة لقضاء العطالت البد من‬ ‫زيارتها وفي قائمة سفر كل من يحب السفر‬ ‫واالستكشاف‪».‬‬

‫«ج ِرب أوغندا‬ ‫أطلق مجلس السياحة األوغندي‬ ‫رسميا حملة َ‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أوال»‪ ،‬في أول مرة تنطلق فيها أوغندا وتروج لحزمة سفر‬ ‫ً‬ ‫خصيصا للسكان المحليين والمقيمين في دول‬ ‫مصممة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫الخليج‪ .‬وتوفر الحملة حزم من العطالت السياحية الفريدة‬ ‫لوكاالت السفر على أساس عدد من الموضوعات الجاذبة‬ ‫للسياح باإلضافة إلى خدمة النقل المجانية من المطار‬ ‫للعمالء‪ ،‬وقد تم إطالقها يوم الخميس الموافق ‪17‬‬ ‫أكتوبر ‪ 2019‬في حفل أقيم في فندق حياة ريجنسي‬ ‫بدبي‪ ،‬حضره سعادة إفراهيم كامونتو‪ ،‬وزير السياحة‬ ‫األوغندي وشئون الحياة البرية واآلثار‪ ،‬كما حضر السفير‬ ‫األوغندي لدى اإلمارات ولدى الوكالة الدولية للطاقة‬ ‫المتجددة‪ ،‬سعادة السفير زكي وانومي كيبيدي مع‬ ‫أعضاء من الحكومة والبرلمان األوغندي‪.‬‬

‫جدير بالذكر أن العديد من عشاق السفر‬ ‫والطبيعة من الشرق األوسط لم‬ ‫يقوموا بتجربة لؤلؤة إفريقيا‪ ،‬ولذلك‬ ‫أوال» تم إنشاءها‬ ‫«ج ِرب أوغندا ً‬ ‫فإن حملة َ‬ ‫لمعالجة هذا العجز في عدد السياح من دول الخليج‪ .‬وقد‬ ‫تم تنظيم عدد من باقات العطالت بشكل خاص لتغطية‬ ‫موضوعات مثل الرحالت لمشاهدة الغوريال الجبلية‪،‬‬ ‫ومغامرة التجديف في المياه البيضاء لنهر النيل‪،‬‬ ‫ورحالت السفاري لتجربة عدد كبير من نواحي الحياة‬ ‫البرية في أوغندا‪ ،‬مع الراحة واألمان في المركبات‬ ‫ذات الدفع الرباعي‪ ،‬وزيارة مواطن قردة الشمبانزي‪،‬‬ ‫وحتى جوالت القهوة وكل ذلك على سبيل المثال ال‬ ‫الحصر‪ .‬كما تتم اإلقامة في فنادق ومنتجعات من فئة‬ ‫الخمس واألربع نجوم‪ ،‬مما يوفر خدمة شخصية وراحة‬ ‫خصيصا لتلبية‬ ‫للمسافرين‪ .‬وقد تم تصميم الحزم‬ ‫ً‬ ‫احتياجات زوار منطقة الخليج‪ ،‬وكذلك ألولئك الذين‬ ‫يسافرون مثل األزواج والعائالت‪ ،‬أو مع األصدقاء‪.‬‬

‫وتروج الحملة إلى الوجهة السياحية األوغندية‪،‬‬ ‫أيضا باسم لؤلؤة إفريقيا‪ ،‬كوجهة رائعة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫والمعروفة‬ ‫للعطالت والمغامرات للعائالت والمجموعات‬ ‫ً‬ ‫بحثا عن تجارب السفر التي‬ ‫واألزواج والشباب‪،‬‬ ‫تخلق ذكريات يستمتع بها الزوار مدى الحياة‪ .‬ومع‬ ‫كونها موطن ألعلى تركيز من القردة والطيور‬ ‫في إفريقيا‪ ،‬تشمل باقات العطالت الترويجية‬ ‫الخاصة رحالت السفاري المصحوبة بمرشدين‪،‬‬ ‫ورحالت القوارب في نهر النيل‪ ،‬ورحالت‬ ‫الغوريال الجبلية الفريدة‪ ،‬وزيارة مواطن‬ ‫الشمبانزي البرية مع الرفاهية في النزل‬ ‫والمنتجعات الفاخرة‪.‬‬

‫إضافة إلى ذلك‪ ،‬وكجزء من األنشطة التسويقية‬ ‫المستمرة في المنطقة‪ ،‬سيقوم مجلس السياحة‬ ‫برنامج تدريبي على‬ ‫بإطالق‬ ‫األوغندي‬ ‫لوكالء السفر في‬ ‫ا إل نتر نت‬ ‫األوسط‪،‬‬ ‫الشرق‬ ‫خبراء‬ ‫ليصبحوا‬ ‫في الترويج ألوغندا‬ ‫وستقام‬ ‫لعمالئهم‪،‬‬ ‫حملة إعالمية على وسائل‬ ‫التواصل االجتماعي في إطار الوسم‬ ‫ب_أوغندا_أوال‪ ،‬حيث يتم تشجيع‬ ‫‪#‬ج ِر‬ ‫ً‬ ‫َ‬ ‫المسافرين على زيارة لؤلؤة إفريقيا قبل أي‬ ‫من معارفهم وأصدقائهم‪.‬‬

‫وقد صرح سعادة الوزير إفراهيم‬ ‫كامونتو‪ ،‬وزير السياحة وشئون الحياة‬ ‫البرية واآلثار في أوغندا‪« :‬نحن‬ ‫متحمسون لعرض أفضل ما تقدمه‬ ‫أوغندا كوجهة للعطالت من أجل‬ ‫السفر الهادف والمستدام‪ .‬ومن‬ ‫المأمول أن يزور أوغندا‪ ،‬من خالل‬ ‫هذه الجهود التسويقية‪ ،‬مواطني‬ ‫وسكان دول الخليج‪ ،‬ليتعرفوا‬ ‫بشكل مباشر على الموارد‬ ‫الطبيعية والبشرية والموهبة‬ ‫االستثنائية التي تجعل أوغندا‬ ‫مميزة للغاية‪ ،‬خاصة كوجهة‬ ‫للعطالت‪».‬‬

‫وقد حضر إطالق الحملة أكثر من ‪ 50‬من‬ ‫وكاالت السفر الرائدة في دولة اإلمارات‬ ‫العربية المتحدة‪ ،‬وحضر مسؤولو مجلس‬ ‫السياحة األوغندي‪ ،‬وعدد من ممثلي منظمي‬ ‫الرحالت السياحية في أوغندا لبدء اإلطالق‪.‬‬ ‫وفي بداية الحفل قامت فرقة نديري بإحياء‬ ‫الحفل عبر رقصة تقليدية أبهرت الجمهور وعرضت‬ ‫قدرات أوغندا الثقافية‪.‬‬ ‫كما أن دولة االمارات تطلق رحالت مباشرة إلى‬ ‫أوغندا من دبي إلى عنتيبي مع طيران االمارات‬ ‫وفالي دبي‪.‬‬

‫الصين الشعبية بالميدالية الذهبية وحطمت الرقم القياسي‬ ‫العالمي‪ .‬وفازت بالميدالية الفضية امبر هيل من بريطانيا‬ ‫العظمى والميدالية البرونزية فازت بها امبر انجلش من‬ ‫الواليات المتحدة األمريكية‪.‬‬ ‫أما المباراة األخيرة من اليوم‪ ،‬في اسكيت الرجال‪ ،‬كانت‬ ‫تفوق الخيال‪ .‬فقد قاتل لويجي لوددي من إيطاليا وفينسنت‬ ‫هانكوك من الواليات المتحدة األمريكية للحصول على‬ ‫الميدالية الذهبية حتى آخر لحظة‪ ،‬مع هدف واحد فقط‬ ‫يفصل كال الرياضيين‪ .‬في النهاية فاز لوددي في النهائي‬ ‫وعادل الرقم القياسي العالمي‪ .‬وكان على هانكوك قبول‬ ‫الميدالية الفضية‪ .‬أما الميدالية البرونزية فقد فاز بها عزمي‬ ‫محيلبة من مصر‪.‬‬ ‫أرقام قياسية ‪ /‬معادلة‬

‫احتدت المنافسة على ‪ 4‬ميداليات ذهبية في كل من مسابقات‬ ‫تراب فردي الرجال والسيدات وفي مسابقات اسكيت الرجال‬ ‫والسيدات كذلك‪.‬‬ ‫وفي اليوم الثاني من المسابقة‪ ،‬تم تحديد أسماء الفائزين‬ ‫األربعة بالميداليات في نهائيات قاسية‪.‬‬ ‫فازت إيريل أليز سكينر من الواليات المتحدة األمريكية بالذهبية‬ ‫في منافسة النساء في أول ظهور لها في نهائيات كأس‬ ‫العالم‪ .‬وفازت سكانالن التيشا من أستراليا بالميدالية الفضية‬ ‫وفازت ايزى اليسيا من إيطاليا بالميدالية البرونزية‪.‬‬

‫واحتلت فرانسيسكا كروفيتو تشادي من تشيلي وكريستيان‬ ‫إليوت من الواليات المتحدة المركز الثالث‪.‬‬

‫مخصصة إلعداد القهوة العربية‬ ‫بطوالت‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫في ديسمبر ‪2019‬‬ ‫تنظم دائرة الثقافة والسياحة – أبوظبي أول بطولة من‬ ‫مخصصة إلعداد القهوة العربية في العاصمة‬ ‫نوعها‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫اإلماراتية في الفترة من ‪ 9‬إلى ‪ 11‬ديسمبر القادم‪.‬‬

‫وممارسات‬

‫وقد أدرجت منظمة اليونسكو القهوة العربية عام‬ ‫‪ 2015‬ضمن القائمة التمثيلية للتراث الثقافي غير‬ ‫المادي للبشرية لتعكس أهميتها في الثقافة العربية‪،‬‬ ‫واستجابة لطلب مشترك قدمته عدد من الدول العربية‬ ‫ً‬ ‫بما فيها اإلمارات العربية المتحدة‪ .‬وفي عام ‪،2018‬‬ ‫أطلقت دائرة الثقافة والسياحة – أبوظبي مبادرة «بيت‬ ‫موس ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫عا في تقاليد تحضير‬ ‫بحثا‬ ‫القهوة» التي تتضمن‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫وتقديم القهوة العربية التقليدية بهدف توثيقها‬ ‫وصونها كعنصر أساسي من عناصر الثقافة اإلماراتية‪.‬‬

‫تأتي هذه البطوالت ضمن جهود الدائرة لالحتفاء‬ ‫بتراث القهوة في منطقة الخليج العربي وتقام‬ ‫بالتزامن مع معرض سيال الشرق األوسط ‪،2019‬‬ ‫الحدث السنوي الرائد في المنطقة لقطاع األغذية‬ ‫والمشروبات والضيافة‪ .‬تشمل البطوالت فئات‬ ‫عدة الختبار معارف وممارسات صناع القهوة على‬ ‫جميع المستويات بما فيها تاريخ القهوة‪ ،‬واختيار‬ ‫حبوب البن‪ ،‬وأساليب تحضيرها وطرق تقديمها‪.‬‬

‫نظمت دائرة الثقافة والسياحة – أبوظبي بالتعاون مع‬ ‫مؤسسة زايد العليا ألصحاب الهمم فعالية «مبصرون‬ ‫باإلرادة» للتوعية بقضايا المكفوفين بمناسبة اليوم‬ ‫العالمي للعصا البيضاء‪ ،‬وذلك يوم ‪ 15‬أكتوبر في منارة‬ ‫السعديات بأبوظبي‪.‬‬ ‫تضمنت الفعالية سلسلة من األنشطة التثقيفية والتوعوية‬ ‫من بينها جولة ألصحاب الهمم في حديقة األولمبياد‬ ‫الخاصة في منارة السعديات‪ ،‬ومسيرة خاصة تحاكي ما‬ ‫يعانيه أصحاب الهمم من المكفوفين‪ ،‬وجلسات للعالج‬ ‫بالصوت‪ ،‬باإلضافة إلى ورشة عمل في ستوديو الفنون‬ ‫بمنارة السعديات‪.‬‬

‫بحسب نتائج استطالع أجرته وكالة بوخش براذرز للتسويق الرقمي‬ ‫انعدام الشفافية يش ّكل توجه المؤثرين على وسائل التواصل االجتماعي في ‪2019‬‬

‫‪ ٪ 84‬من المؤثرين عبر وسائل التواصل االجتماعي في دولة اإلمارات العربية المتحدة ال يفصحون عن المحتوى‬ ‫الخاص بالعالمة التجارية أو عن شراكات مع العالمة التجارية‪ ،‬في حين يكشف ‪ ٪ 44‬منهم فقط عن «الشراكات‬ ‫المدفوعة»‬ ‫مع ازدياد أهمية التسويق عبر وسائل التواصل االجتماعي واتساع مدى تقبله‪ ،‬أصدرت شركة «بوخش براذرز»‬ ‫(‪ )Bukhash Brothers‬الرائدة في مجال االستشارات والتسويق الرقمي وتسويق أعمال المشاهير نتائج‬ ‫استطالعها األول تحت عنوان «تسويق الشخصيات المؤثرة» ‪ 2019 - 2018‬حيث أجرت مقابالت مع ‪ 100‬شخصية‬ ‫من أهم المؤثرين في دولة اإلمارات العربية المتحدة بهدف الحصول على رؤية واضحة وتحليل للتوجهات السائدة‬ ‫وفهم السلوكيات التي تتبعها الشخصيات المؤثرة عبر وسائل التواصل االجتماعي‪.‬‬ ‫وقد أظهرت نتائج البحث بأن ‪ ٪ 84‬من الشخصيات المؤثرة ال «تكشف بطريقة واضحة عن أي عمليات اندماج أو‬ ‫شراكات مع العالمة التجارية أو عن المحتوى الخاص بالعالمة التجارية» الذي يتم نشره‪ ،‬في حين يستخدم ‪٪ 44‬‬ ‫منها فقط وسم «الشراكة المدفوعة» على إنستغرام عندما تمولها إحدى العالمات التجارية‪ .‬وبالتالي فإن انعدام‬ ‫الشفافية في الكشف عن المحتوى الخاص بالعالمات التجارية أو الشراكات المدفوعة أمر يستحق االهتمام‪ ،‬حيث‬ ‫عقودا حصرية مع عالمة تجارية واحدة على األقل‪،‬‬ ‫أشار ‪ ٪ 61‬من المشاركين في االستطالع إلى أنهم يوقعون‬ ‫ً‬ ‫في حين ذكر أكثر من ‪ ٪ 80‬من المشاركين في االستطالع بأنهم يقومون بذلك مقابل الحصول على منتجات أو‬ ‫بأن ذلك يشكل مصدر دخل رئيسي لهم‪ ،‬حيث يتقاضى‬ ‫أن ‪ ٪ 24‬من المؤثرين قالوا ّ‬ ‫خدمات أو خبرات مجانية‪ ،‬إال ّ‬ ‫ً‬ ‫مبلغا يتراوح بين ‪ 1000‬إلى ‪2500‬‬ ‫غالبية المؤثرين الذين لديهم عدد أقل من المتابعين (‪،)micro-influencers‬‬ ‫دوالر أمريكي على كل منشور يقدمونه‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أمرا‬ ‫قائال‪« :‬تعتبر الشفافية‬ ‫وفي هذا السياق ذكر أنس بوخش‪ ،‬المؤسس والمدير العام لشركة بوخش براذرز‪،‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫بالغ األهمية‪ ،‬فهي تتعلق بمدى احترام جمهورك وعدم محاولة خداع المستهلك‪ ».‬وأضاف في تعليقه على‬ ‫ألن متابعي وسائل التواصل‬ ‫نتائج االستطالع‪« :‬لقد كانت النتائج مفاجئة‪ ،‬لكننا نتوقع بأن يرتفع معدل الشفافية ّ‬ ‫االجتماعي أصبحوا أكثر حنكة وذكاء‪ ،‬وكذلك الشخصيات المؤثرة أصبحت أكثر جدية في إنشاء عالقات موثوقة‬ ‫وطويلة األمد‪ .‬أضف إلى ذلك أن لوائح المجلس الوطني لإلعالم‪ ،‬ونظام منح التراخيص للشخصيات المؤثرة‬ ‫فعال على تنظيم هذا المجال لجعله يتماشى مع‬ ‫على وسائل التواصل االجتماعي في دولة اإلمارات قد أثرا‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أفضل الممارسات والبروتوكوالت الدولية»‪.‬‬ ‫أوال في فئة التخصص حيث يقوم ‪ ٪ 68‬من المشاركين بنشر‬ ‫بأن «نمط الحياة» جاء‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وكشفت النتائج اإلضافية ّ‬ ‫بأن اإلنستغرام‬ ‫محتوى يركّز على نمط الحياة‪ ،‬ويليه المحتوى الخاص بالسفر (‪ )٪ 58‬واألزياء (‪ .)٪ 50‬كما ظهر ّ‬ ‫هو المنصة المفضلة بال منازع‪ ،‬بينما أكد ‪ ٪ 52‬من المشاركين بأنهم مرخصين بشكل رسمي في دولة اإلمارات‬ ‫العربية المتحدة‪.‬‬

‫ً‬ ‫رفقا بالمراهقين النائمين‬ ‫نتحدث في هذا المقال عن اضطراب نوم األطفال‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ً‬ ‫علما أن الحالة قد‬ ‫والمراهقين‪ ،‬ال سيما في أيام الدراسة‪،‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أيضا بسبب إدمانهم هواتفهم أو األلعاب‬ ‫تصيب الكبار‬ ‫اإللكترونية‪.‬‬

‫العام‪ ،‬بشكل متوافق‬ ‫ومتزامن مع التغيرات‬ ‫اليومية‪ ،‬مثل مستوى‬ ‫اإلضاءة‪ ،‬ودرجة الحرارة‪،‬‬ ‫وأوقات النوم والراحة‪،‬‬ ‫خالل ساعات اليوم‪ ،‬وعبر‬ ‫فصول السنة المختلفة‪،‬‬ ‫أي إن العمليات الكيماوية‬ ‫الحيوية داخل أجسامنا‪ ،‬ال‬ ‫تسير بوتيرة واحدة خالل‬ ‫اليوم‪ ،‬بل تختلف طبيعتها‬ ‫ومساراتها‬ ‫وقوتها‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ونتائجها باختالف الليل‬ ‫والنهار‪ ،‬وساعات اليوم‪،‬‬ ‫وتغير الفصول‪.‬‬

‫وقد لفت نظري بهذا الشأن مقال للدكتور أكمل عبد الحكيم‬ ‫ً‬ ‫باكرا‪،‬‬ ‫(االتحاد ‪ 14‬أيلول ‪ ،)2015‬يتحدث فيه عن رحلة تبدأ‬ ‫لماليين األطفال والمراهقين والشباب‪ ،‬في رحلة يومية‬ ‫إلى مدارسهم وجامعاتهم‪ ،‬مع بداية شهر سبتمبر كل عام‪،‬‬ ‫يتعرض للتشكيك واالنتقاد من قبل العلماء‬ ‫األمر الذي بدأ‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫المتخصصين في مجال طب النوم‪.‬‬ ‫ومما جاء في المقال‪« :‬في كلمة ألقاها خبير طب النوم‬ ‫الدكتور بول كيلي‪ ،‬خالل فعاليات مهرجان العلوم البريطاني‬ ‫الذي عقد في مدينة برادفورد‪ ،‬أكد أن المجتمع البشري‬ ‫الحديث ال يعير الكثير من االهتمام للساعة البيولوجية لجسم‬ ‫ً‬ ‫خصوصا المراهقين‪ ،‬وهذا يجعلهم في حالة‬ ‫اإلنسان‪،‬‬ ‫مزمنة من فقر النوم أو َع َوزه‪ .‬والساعة البيولوجية هي نسق‬ ‫زمني بيولوجي متكرر في دورات متطابقة‪ ،‬يتيح لإلنسان‬ ‫‪ -‬والكائنات الحية ‪ -‬تنسيق العمليات الحيوية‪ ،‬والسلوك‬

‫إن هذا النسق يختلف عند المراهقين‪ ،‬إذ تتأخر الساعة‬ ‫البيولوجية نحو ساعتين مقارنة بالبالغين‪ ،‬بسبب تأخر مرحلة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تنبها‬ ‫النوم (‪ ،)Sleep Phase Delay‬وهو ما يجعلهم أكثر‬ ‫صعب عليهم‬ ‫وي ّ‬ ‫ويقظة في الساعات المتأخرة من الليل‪ُ ،‬‬ ‫النوم قبل منتصف الليل‪ .‬وبما أن الغالبية‬ ‫العظمى من المراهقين‪ ،‬يضطرون لالستيقاظ‬ ‫في ساعات الصباح الباكر لبدء يومهم الدراسي‪،‬‬ ‫ُيصبح من الصعب عليهم الحصول على عدد‬ ‫ً‬ ‫يوميا)‪،‬‬ ‫ساعات النوم الضرورية (‪ 9-8‬ساعات‬ ‫وهو ما يجعلهم في حالة شبه دائمة من فقر‬ ‫النوم أو َع َوزه‪ ،‬ويؤثر في قدرتهم على التعلم‬ ‫واالستيعاب‪ ،‬وفي حالتهم الصحية بوجه عام‪.‬‬ ‫ولهذا يدعم كثير من علماء طب النوم‪ ،‬فكرة تغيير‬ ‫موعد بداية اليوم الدراسي‪ ،‬ليبدأ في العاشرة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫توافقا مع الساعة البيولوجية‬ ‫صباحا‪ ،‬فهو أكثر‬ ‫للصغار والمراهقين‪ ،‬على أن يترافق مع نشر‬ ‫ثقافة النوم السليم (االمتناع عن استخدام‬ ‫األجهزة اإللكترونية مساء‪ ،‬تخفيض شدة اإلضاءة‬ ‫كاف)‪ ،‬حتى‬ ‫ٍ‬ ‫في المنزل قبل ميعاد النوم بوقت‬ ‫ال يتأثر معدل إفراز الهرمونات المرتبطة بالنوم‪،‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وقتا‬ ‫باإلضافة إلى ضرورة منح العقل والجسم‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تدريجيا في‬ ‫كافيا لالسترخاء‪ ،‬والتباطؤ‪ ،‬والدخول‬ ‫مرحلة النوم العميق»‪.‬‬ ‫قليال عند‬ ‫ترى هل يمكن تأخير موعد الدراسة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫الصغار والمراهقين‪ ،‬السيما في الشتاء‪ ،‬حيث‬ ‫تكون الدنيا معتمة عند استيقاظ التالميذ؟ ال‬ ‫أعتقد بإمكانية ذلك في بالدنا‪ ،‬لكن يمكن على‬ ‫المربون في المدارس حالة‬ ‫يتفهم‬ ‫األقل أن‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫التالميذ النيام أو شبه النيام في ساعات الصباح‬ ‫أبوية‪ ،‬ال بالعقوبات‬ ‫الباكر‪ ،‬ليعالجوا األمر بطريقة‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫الصارمة‪ ،‬شريطة أن يلتزم (كل) األهل بالحظر‬ ‫اإللكتروني وتخفيض اإلضاءة في البيت ليال‪ ،‬مما‬ ‫ً‬ ‫محققين‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫مريحا عند كل أفراد العائلة‪،‬‬ ‫يجعل النوم‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تكسب‬ ‫‪،‬‬ ‫باكرا‬ ‫واستيقظ‬ ‫ْ‬ ‫‪،‬‬ ‫باكرا‬ ‫(نم‬ ‫المثل‪:‬‬ ‫معنى‬ ‫ِ‬ ‫ْ‬ ‫ولعل وعسى‪.‬‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫الصح َة والغنى والحكمة)‪ .‬أال ليت‬ ‫ّ‬

‫بالتعاون مع المراكز المجتمعية في مدينة ريجيو أميليا بإيطاليا‬ ‫دائرة الثقافة والسياحة – أبوظبي تفتتح معرض‬ ‫«فسيفساء الرسم والكلمات والماديات»‬ ‫افتتحت دائرة الثقافة والسياحة – أبوظبي معرض‬ ‫«فسيفساء الرسم والكلمات والماديات» الذي‬ ‫تنظمه بالتعاون مع المراكز المجتمعية في مدينة‬ ‫ريجيو أميليا بإيطاليا‪ ،‬والذي انطلق األسبوع الجاري‬ ‫ويستمر لغاية ‪ 14‬نوفمبر المقبل‪ ،‬في مكتبة زايد‬ ‫المركزية في منطقة العين‪.‬‬

‫واستكشاف المساحات واألشكال واأللوان‪ .‬كما‬ ‫يسعى المعرض إلى التعبير عن الثراء المعرفي‪،‬‬ ‫وثراء التعبير‪ ،‬اللذين تولدهما رسومات األطفال‬ ‫والمواد والكلمات»‪.‬‬ ‫وحسب رؤية المنهج التربوي في مدينة ريجيو أميليا‪،‬‬ ‫فإن الطفل يملك مئة لغة ومئة طريقة للتفكير‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫عم في داخله وإلدراك األشياء‪ ،‬في تعبير‬ ‫وللتعبير ّ‬ ‫مجازي عن اإلمكانات الهائلة لدى األطفال‪ ،‬وعن‬ ‫العمليات المعرفية واإلبداعية لديهم‪ ،‬وعن األشكال‬ ‫المختلفة التي تتمثل فيها الحياة والتي من خاللها‬ ‫تتأسس المعرفة‪ .‬وقد هيأت التجربة التربوية في‬ ‫ريجيو أميليا لفتح باب الحوار والتبادل معرفي مع أكثر‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫واقليميا‪ ،‬ويعود الفضل في ذلك إلى‬ ‫بلدا‬ ‫من ‪140‬‬ ‫منظمة ريجيو للطفولة‪.‬‬ ‫وتمتاز الروضات ومدارس األطفال في مدينة ريجيو‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫مخصصا‬ ‫تربويا‬ ‫مشروعا‬ ‫أميليا اإليطالية بأنها تنتهج‬ ‫لألطفال حتى سن ‪ 6‬سنوات‪ ،‬اتصف بأساليبه‬ ‫التفكرية الحديثة‪ ،‬والتزامه العميق في البحث‬ ‫والتجريب‪ .‬ويتمحور هذا المشروع حول فكرة ترى‬ ‫وشخص ذي حقوق‪ ،‬ميال‬ ‫ٍ‬ ‫في الطفل إمكانات كبيرة‬ ‫التعليمية‪ ،‬وإلى‬ ‫للعمليات‬ ‫إلى المالحظة والتوثيق‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫النقاش وتبادل اآلراء‪.‬‬

‫ويقدم المعرض فن الرسم على أنّ ه اللغة المستقلة‬ ‫التي يعبر بها األطفال عن أنفسهم‪ ،‬ويروون من‬ ‫خاللها قصصهم الصامتة أو المرئية‪ .‬ويبرز المعرض‬ ‫بشكل أساسي فن الفسيفساء الذكي‪ ،‬حيث‬ ‫يتضمن مجموعة من األعمال الفنية التي تروي‬ ‫قصص متميزة وتتيح الفرصة للتعرف على أبعاد‬ ‫هذا الفن االستثنائي‪.‬‬ ‫وقال عبدالله ماجد آل علي المدير التنفيذي لقطاع‬ ‫دار الكتب باإلنابة في دائرة الثقافة والسياحة –‬ ‫أبوظبي‪« :‬أتت فكرة معرض «فسيفساء الرسم‬ ‫والكلمات والماديات» لنستكشف مهارات تلك‬ ‫الحرفة اليدوية التي تحول قطع األحجار الصغيرة‬ ‫الملونة إلى أشكال ورسومات ونماذج فنية رائعة‬ ‫تحاكي مواضيع مختلفة مستلهمة من التراث‬ ‫والتاريخ والطبيعة وكل ما يحيط بنا‪ ،‬فال يوجد حدود‬ ‫لها‪ .‬والفسيفساء لوحات إبداعية تاريخية نابضة‬ ‫بالفن واألناقة حتى يومنا هذا‪ ،‬لم تفقد بريقها أمام‬ ‫عجلة التقدم والتقنيات الحديثة‪ ،‬فهي تعرف «بفن‬ ‫الخلود»»‪ .‬وتابع آل علي‪« :‬تتماشى فعاليات هذا‬ ‫المعرض مع رؤيتنا في دائرة الثقافة والسياحة –‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أساسيا‬ ‫مكونا‬ ‫أبوظبي في تكريس الفنون وجعلها‬ ‫في حياة أفراد المجتمع المحلي في اإلمارة‪ .‬لذا‬ ‫نأمل االستفادة من هذه الخبرات عبر ورشات العمل‬ ‫التي ستقام على هامش المعرض»‪.‬‬

‫وقد تفانى لوريس ماالكوتسي‪ ،‬مؤسس فلسفة‬ ‫منهج ريجيو أميليا التعليمي‪ ،‬في ترويج فلسفة‬ ‫تربوية جديدة تعتمد على نظرية (مئة لغة) والتي‬ ‫تمنح إمكانات األطفال وطاقاتهم وذكائهم‪ ،‬قيمة‬ ‫عالية‪.‬‬

‫لؤلؤة أبوظبي‪ :‬اكتشاف أقدم لؤلؤة طبيعية في العالم‬ ‫مروح‬ ‫في جزيرة‬ ‫ّ‬

‫تعود إلى ما يقارب ‪ 8‬آالف عام ومن أثمن مقتنيات متحف زايد الوطني‪ ،‬سيتم عرضها ألول مرة في اللوفر أبوظبي‬ ‫عثــر علمــاء اآلثــار فــي دائــرة الثقافــة‬ ‫والســياحة – أبوظبــي علــى أقــدم لؤلــؤة‬ ‫فــي العالــم فــي الموقــع األثــري فــي‬ ‫مــروح قبالــة ســواحل أبوظبــي‪،‬‬ ‫جزيــرة‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫وأطلــق عليهــا اســم «لؤلــؤة أبوظبــي»‬ ‫حيــث تُ ظهــر الطبقــات التــي تغطــي‬ ‫اللؤلــؤة بأنهــا تعــود إلــى العصــر الحجــري‬ ‫الحديــث فــي الفترة ما بيــن ‪5600-5800‬‬ ‫قبــل الميــاد‪ ،‬ويعــد هــذا االكتشــاف‬ ‫دليــا علــى وجــود مهنــة صيــد اللؤلــؤ‬ ‫ً‬ ‫والمحــار فــي دولــة اإلمــارات منــذ مــا‬ ‫يقــارب ‪ 8‬آالف عــام‪ ،‬وهــو أقــدم دليــل‬ ‫مكتشــف علــى صيــد اللؤلــؤ‬ ‫فــي العالــم‪.‬‬

‫اإلمــارات فــي موقــع يعــود للعصــر‬ ‫الحجــري الحديــث فــي أم القيويــن‪،‬‬ ‫كمــا تــم العثــور علــى العديــد مــن‬ ‫الآللــئ القديمــة فــي مقبــرة تعــود‬ ‫إلــى نفــس العصــر بالقــرب مــن‬ ‫جبــل البحيــص فــي إمــارة الشــارقة‪،‬‬ ‫إال أن التأريــخ الكربونــي ُيظهــر بــأن‬ ‫«لؤلــؤة أبوظبــي» أقــدم مــن هذيــن‬ ‫االكتشــافين‪.‬‬ ‫وكشــفت أحــدث عمليــات التنقيــب‬

‫وكان اللؤلــؤ مــن العناصــر‬ ‫الثمينــة فــي العصــر الحجــري‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وحاليــا يعــد مــن‬ ‫الحديــث‪،‬‬ ‫المظاهــر التــي تــدل علــى‬ ‫لــي‬ ‫ويســتخدم‬ ‫الرفاهيــة‬ ‫كح ّ‬ ‫ُ‬ ‫ُ‬ ‫للزينــة‪ .‬وســتعرض «لؤلــؤة‬ ‫أبوظبــي» التاريخيــة والتــي ال‬ ‫تقــدر بثمــن‪ ،‬ألول مــرة أمــام‬ ‫الجمهــور فــي المعــرض القــادم‬ ‫الــذي ينظمــه اللوفــر أبوظبــي‬ ‫تحــت عنــوان «‪ 10‬آالف عــام مــن‬ ‫الرفاهيــة »‪.‬‬ ‫وبهــذه المناســبة‪ ،‬قــال معالــي‬ ‫محمــد خليفــة المبــارك‪ ،‬رئيــس‬ ‫دائــرة الثقافــة والســياحة –‬ ‫أبوظبــي‪« :‬تعــد لؤلــؤة أبوظبــي‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ودليــا علــى عراقــة‬ ‫مذهــا‪،‬‬ ‫اكتشــافا‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وقــدم أنشــطتنا البحريــة‪ .‬كمــا أن‬ ‫ِ‬ ‫اكتشــاف أقــدم لؤلــؤة فــي العالــم‬ ‫فــي أبوظبــي يكشــف أن الكثيــر مــن‬ ‫تاريخنــا االقتصــادي والثقافــي الحديــث‬ ‫لــه جــذور عميقــة تمتــد إلــى فجــر مــا‬ ‫ـروح واحــدة‬ ‫قبــل التاريــخ‪ .‬وتعـ ّـد جزيــرة مـ ّ‬ ‫مــن أهــم المواقــع األثريــة لدينــا‪ ،‬التــي‬ ‫نواصــل جهودنــا فــي التنقيــب فيهــا‬ ‫وحمايتهــا للكشــف عــن معلومــات أثريــة‬ ‫مذهلــة تخبرنــا الكثيــر عــن تاريــخ أبوظبــي‬ ‫والمنطقــة وأســلوب حيــاة أجدادنــا‬ ‫األوائــل»‪.‬‬ ‫قبــل اكتشــاف «لؤلــؤة أبوظبــي»‪ ،‬كان‬ ‫قــد تــم اكتشــاف أقــدم لؤلــؤة فــي دولــة‬

‫هيــاكل صخريــة عديــدة لمنــازل مــن‬ ‫العصــر الحجــري الحديــث‪ .‬وإلــى جانــب‬ ‫اكتشــاف «لؤلــؤة أبوظبــي»‪ ،‬شــملت‬ ‫جــرة خزفيــة‬ ‫االكتشــافات األخــرى‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫مســتوردة‪ ،‬وخــرز مصنــوع مــن الحجــر‬ ‫والمحــار‪ ،‬واألصــداف البحريــة‪ ،‬ونصــال‬ ‫أســهم مــن الصــوان‪ ،‬وعــدد كبيــر مــن‬ ‫شــظايا أوانــي فخاريــة مزخرفــة بطــاء‬ ‫كثيــف جميــل‪ ،‬والتــي تعتبــر مــن أقــدم‬ ‫القطــع الفنيــة الزخرفيــة المعروفــة‬ ‫فــي الدولــة ‪ .‬وســتنطلق عمليــات‬ ‫تنقيبيــة رئيســية جديــدة فــي الموقــع‬ ‫نفســه للعثــور علــى المزيــد‬ ‫مــن االكتشــافات مــع بدايــة عــام‬ ‫‪.2020‬‬ ‫وأشــار الخبــراء إلــى احتمــال أن‬ ‫يكــون قــد تــم اســتخدام اللؤلــؤ‬ ‫فــي عمليــات التبــادل التجــاري‬ ‫مــع بــاد الرافديــن (العــراق‬ ‫القديــم) مقابــل المنتجــات‬ ‫الخزفيــة وغيرهــا من الســلع‪ .‬كما‬ ‫تُ ظهــر اآلثــار التــي تــم اكتشــافها‬ ‫فــي جبــل البحيــص بالشــارقة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أيضــا‬ ‫أن اللؤلــؤ كان ُيســتخدم‬ ‫ـي للزينــة مــن قبــل الســكان‬ ‫كحلـ ّ‬ ‫ُ‬ ‫المحلييــن‪.‬‬

‫ـروح‪ ،‬التــي نفذهــا خبــراء‬ ‫فــي جزيــرة مـ ّ‬ ‫اآلثــار فــي الدائــرة عــن المزيــد مــن‬ ‫المعلومــات عــن أقــدم قريــة معروفــة‬ ‫اســتوطنها اإلنســان فــي إمــارة‬ ‫أبوظبــي قبــل حوالــي ‪ 8‬آالف عــام‪،‬‬ ‫والتــي أظهــرت أدلــة جديــدة تلقــي‬ ‫الضــوء علــى الممارســات المعماريــة‬ ‫والفنيــة والتقنيــة المتقدمــة التــي‬ ‫اســتخدمها ســكان أبوظبــي األوائــل‬ ‫فــي فتــرات تاريخيــة مبكــرة جـ ً‬ ‫ـدا ترجــع‬ ‫إلــى العصــر الحجــري الحديــث‪.‬‬ ‫تــم اكتشــاف موقــع مــروح للمــرة‬ ‫األولــى عــام ‪ 1992‬أثنــاء مســح أثــري‬ ‫والمكــون مــن بقايــا انهيــار‬ ‫للجزيــرة‪،‬‬ ‫ّ‬

‫مرحبا الساع ‪...‬‬ ‫أعلنت الجهة المنظمة لمعرض التخرج العالمي‪ ،‬وهو أضخم الملتقيات الجامعية‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تنوعا في العالم‪ ،‬عن تنظيم نسخة جديدة من الفعالية بالشراكة مع‬ ‫وأكثرها‬ ‫مؤسسة دبي لالستثمارات الحكومية‪ ،‬وذلك خالل الفترة من ‪ 12‬ولغاية ‪16‬‬ ‫ويعتبر معرض التخرج العالمي‪ ،‬الذي ينعقد خالل «أسبوع دبي‬ ‫نوفمبر المقبل‪ُ .‬‬ ‫للتصميم»‪ ،‬فعالية مجانية ومفتوحة للعموم‪ ،‬وهو المعرض األول من نوعه‬ ‫الذي يسلط الضوء على مشاريع التخرج من أكثر من ‪ 100‬جامعة من ‪ 43‬دولة في‬ ‫مجاالت التصميم والعلوم والتكنولوجيا والهندسة‪.‬‬

‫وفي أعقاب التوسعة التي طالت أرض المعرض‪ ،‬تستضيف نسخة هذا العام‬ ‫سيما بعد استقبال القائمين عليه‬ ‫منه أكبر ملتقى للجامعات على اإلطالق‪ ،‬ال ّ‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫جديدا من طلبات المشاركة‪ .‬وسيضم معرض الخريجين العالمي ‪150‬‬ ‫قياسيا‬ ‫رقما‬ ‫ً‬ ‫مشروعا من مختلف التخصصات‪ ،‬بحيث تستعرض أبرز االبتكارات من الجامعات‬ ‫في األسواق الناشئة‪ ،‬بما فيها تشيلي وأوغندا ومصر وباكستان وتايالند‪ ،‬إلى‬ ‫جانب أعمال الطالب من نخبة الجامعات العالمية مثل ’جامعة هارفرد‘ و’جامعة‬ ‫أما من دولة اإلمارات العربية المتحدة‪،‬‬ ‫ستانفورد‘ و كلية لندن االمبراطورية‪ّ .‬‬ ‫تأتي المشاريع المشاركة في المعرض من جامعات محلية رائدة مثل جامعة زايد‬ ‫وجامعة ’نيويورك أبوظبي‘‪.‬‬

‫ويعد برنامج ريادة األعمال مبادرة جديدة تُ طرح في عام ‪ 2019‬لدعم مشاريع‬ ‫ُ‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وصوال إلى مرحلة إطالقها في السوق‪.‬‬ ‫بدءا من أولى خطواتها‬ ‫الخريجين‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وتتمثل المرحلة األولى من البرنامج في إتمام تدريب إلكتروني ُيغطي أساسيات‬ ‫التفكير التجاري وطرق إنشاء شركة اجتماعية ناشئة‪ .‬ومن ثم سيتم اختيار ما يصل‬ ‫ً‬ ‫مخيم تدريبي في دبي بغية بلورة المفاهيم الناشئة‬ ‫مشروعا لحضور‬ ‫إلى ‪20‬‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫والمهارات الترويجية الخاصة بها‪.‬‬
