WewillworkwithEngland,Wales,andNorthernIrelandto promoteacommonpartnershipbetweenourna�ons. Eventhoughwearenowanindependentcountry,lots moreprogressiss�llyettobemade.Since2007wehave deliveredprogressforScotland,andinthiselec�on,we arenowaskingtheSco�shpeopletoplacetheirtrustin usoncemoresothatwecancon�nuetodeliverstrong andmeaningfulprogressforallofScotland.

Sincetheforma�onoftheSco�shNa�onalParty,nine decadesofpoli�calmovementshaveledtothis. Scotlandnowstandsatacrossroads,withmanychoicesto makeinregardstothekindofcountrythatwenowwant tobe.TheSNPmanifestoforthiselec�onpresentsour policypla�ormforthenextfiveyears.
Thiselec�onisouronlychancetotrulyshapethefuture ofourcountry.
Wehavebeeninpowernowfornearly20years.Wedon’t shyawayfromthefactthatnearlytwodecadesofpower isaverylong�me.LookatScotlandin2007,andcompare ittotheScotlandoftoday.Lowerratesofcrime,more supportforfamiliesandcommuni�es,recordinvestment intoourNa�onalHealthService,andoverahundredand fi�ythousandnewaffordablehomes.Thatistheimpactof SNPgovernance. Wehavealreadystarteddeliveringourprogress.Weare makinghistory,eachandeveryoneofus.Thisisthe biggestopportunityforchangeinScotland’shistory.Solet usgraspthatopportunityandbegintobuildabe�er na�on.Buildingabe�erna�onstartswithallofus,let’s startthatworktoday.
Throughdemocra�crenewalandreform,wewillseekto establishasystemthatholdspoli�ciansandleadersto account,providesmoreopportuni�esforscru�ny,and demandscompletetransparency.
Withrecordinvestmentduringsomeofthetoughest �mesofAusterity,wehaveproventhatwecancarefor Scotland’shealthservices,andnow,wewillseekto employhundredsofnewdoctorsandnursesandbuild dozensofnewhospitalsandmedicalcentres. BuildingahealthierScotlandstartswithallofusplaying ourpart,andwewillcon�nuetoexpandourprogramfor healthierea�nginourschoolswithfurtherinvestment fromLocalAuthori�esandtheSco�shGovernment. TacklingtheDrugscrisishasbecomeanimmediatepriority oftheGovernment,post-independence.Wewillcon�nue onourpolicypla�ormtodecriminaliseandlegalisecertain substancesandcon�nuetoofferhelptothosethatneed it. Wewillraisea�ainmentinourschoolswithareviewof thecurriculumforexcellenceandexpandoureffortsto closethea�ainmentgap. Aswemoveforward,wewillrequireastrongsystemto defendusandprotectusfromen��esandpeople.Wewill beginoureffortstogrowScotland’smilitarywhile remainingstrictlyopposedtoallNuclearweaponsofmass destruc�on. WewillpromoteScotland’sbroadcas�ngandartssector withfurtherinvestmentfromtheGovernmentandmore opportuni�esforar�stsandbroadcasterstoshowcase theirwork. Wewillfocusonfurthereconomicgrowthandstability, and,ifweareacceptedintotheEuropeanUnion,wewill begintheprocessofchangingourcurrencyintotheEuro.
Wehavenowachievedourindependence.
Thenextstepsthatwetakewilldeterminethecoursethat Scotlandwillfollowfordecades.Itisvitalthatwegetall thebigcallsright.
WewillworkinpartnershipwithEuropeanNa�onsto securemembershipintheEuropeanUnion.Wewillseek membershipintheNorthAtlan�cTreatyOrganisa�onand wewillcon�nuetoensurethatScotland’svoiceisheldon theworldstage.SecuringScotland’splaceintheworldis vitalifwewanttoreapallofthebenefitsof independence.
IfweHopeforabe�erScotlandandtrustintheSco�sh Na�onalPartytodeliveronourpromises,thenwecan buildthatfutureforourselvesandourchildren. Don’tjustHopeforabe�erScotland,voteforone.This May,Re-electaSco�shGovernmentworkingforScotland andvotefortheSNP.

Manyofusnowliveinchallenging�mes,withaneverincreasingnumberofpeoplestrugglingtomakeends meet.Thisisduetocompaniesusingtheirgreatdealof influencetoexploitconsumers.TheSNPwillestablisha consumerswatchdogthatwilldealwithcomplaintsabout risingcosts. Addi�onally,wewilltacklerisingcostswithinvestmentand supportfromtheGovernment.Wewillgiveeach householda£250paymenttohelpeasethecostofliving andwewillcapenergypricesatmuchlowerratesthan theyaretoday. Wewillprovidesensibleleadershiponeconomicma�ers andensurethatfamiliesandcommuni�esaregiventhe correctlevelsofsupportthattheyneedanddeserve.
NHSINVESTMENT
ECONOMICSENSIBILITY
Sincefirsttakingofficein2007,theSNPhasincreasedthe budgetforNHSScotland,withrecordNHSspendingand hundredsofnewdoctorsandnursesnowinourhealth service. Wewillinvest£100millionoverthecourseofthenext parliamenttoupgradeambulancesandemployhundreds ofnewparamedics.Wewillintroducenew,reviewed, targetsfortheSco�shAmbulanceservicetoreachtheir pa�entson�me.WewillworkwiththeSco�sh AmbulanceServicetotacklemanyoftheissuesthatthey facetoday,likeageingequipmentandstaffshortages. Addi�onally,wewillinvest£40millioninexpanded pharmacyservicesandemployingmorepharmacists. Wewilluseourinfluenceandpowertousepublicfundsto fundproperini�a�ves.

BETTERMENTALHEALTHSERVICES
WerecognisethatmentalhealthservicesinScotlandare nowindireneedofa�en�onandgreaterfunding.Thatis whyoverthecourseofthenextparliament,wewillinvest upto£70milliontobuildnewmentalhealthfacili�esin everysinglehealthboardofthecountry.
EQUALITYINPOLITICS
Wearealsoensuringthatthevoicesofwomenandgirls areheardatthehighestlevelsofpoli�cs.TheFirstMinister hasestablishedanAdvisoryCouncilonWomenandGirls toinformtheSco�shGovernmentontheinequali�esthey faceandhowbesttotacklethem. We’retakingac�oningovernmenttoo.Anew£500,000 fundhasbeenestablishedtosupportprojectsthat encouragegreaterrepresenta�onofwomeninpoli�csand tomarkthecentenaryofwomen’ssuffrage.
Wewillworkwiththirdpar�esandLocalAuthori�esto ensurethatyoungpeoplehaveproperpastoralsupportin ourschoolsandsothattheycandealwithanyissuesthat theymaybefacing.Noyoungpersoninourcountryshould besufferinginsilence.
WithastrongteamofMSP’sinParliament,youcan besurethatwewilltackletheissuesoftoday seriously.Withastrongteamofseasonedand experiencedleaders,youcanbecertainthatthe SNPwillcon�nuetotakeourroleasleadersofthe Sco�shGovernmentwithfairness,respect,and dignity. Toincreasethenumberofwomeninleadershiproles acrossthewiderpublicsector,wehavepassedtheGender Representa�ononPublicBoards(Scotland)Bill.Thenew law–thefirstofitskindintheUK–willensurethat50 percentofnon-execu�vemembersonpublicboardsin Scotlandarewomen.
