Experiencedhandatthewheel

ThepeopleofScotlandmusthavereliable healthservicesthattheycanturntoointheir hourofneed,andtheSNParefocusedon investingmoreintotheNHS,aswehaveseen inthepastfewyearsofSNPleadership.

Investmentthatdelivers

WearedeliveringrecordhighNHSinvestment, andwearecuttingthewasteofexpenditure fromwithintheservice.Wewilluseextra fundsto deliver1000moredoctorsand100 morenurses -buildingabetterNHSforall.

TheRighttoHealthcare

TheSNPwillenshrineourbelief thateveryoneshouldbeentitled tofree,fairandaccessible healthcareservicesintoScottish Law. Foragovernmentnottodeliver ontheseprinciples,itwouldbe consideredagainstthelaw,anda motionofnoconfidenceinthe HealthSecretarywouldtake place,shouldtheParliament decidetodoso.

RepresentationofNHSStaff

TheSNPGovernmentwill establishanewministerfor NursingandParamedics,a ministerforUnionsandanew bodythatisresponsibleforthe representationofNHSstaffata governmentlevel. Itremainsaparamount importancetotheSNPthatNHS Staffarewellcaredforandthat theirviewsareheard.

NationalCareService

Inordertobringthebest possiblequalityofcaretothe peopleofScotland,are-elected government,leadbytheSNP, wouldestablishacentralisedand publiclyownedservicethatis focusedondeliveringcaretothe peopleofScotland.

SuicidePrevention

Sadly,suicidesremainintoday’s Scotland.TheSNPseekto preventsuicideswithmore fundingtomentalhealthservices andtheintroductionofa nationalsuicidepreventionplansettingatargetofa20% decreaseby2021.

DrugsCrisis

TheDrugsCrisisremainsof seriousconcerntotheSNP,and wewilltacklethecrisiswiththe compassionandfundingthatis required.

Inourfirstyear,wewillinvestan addition£10milliontoNHS Servicestotacklethedrugcrisis.

ImprovingCancerServices

WewillimplementourCancer RecoveryPlan,includingthe£18 millionpartnershipwith Macmillantoensureeveryone withcancerinScotlandgets personalisedcare.

Wewillinvestafurther£20 milliontoexpandourDetect CancerEarlyprogrammeand establishstateoftheartcancer treatmentanddetectionfacilities ineverysingleScottishhealth board.

RefugeeCrisis

Currently,theUKGovernment’s HomeOfficeholdsresponsibility forrefugeesarrivinginScotland.

Scotlandstandsreadytoaccept refugeesandtheSNP Governmentwillseektoprovide themwithfinicalsupportand reliableservicesthattheycan trust.

ScottishIndependence

In2014,thepeopleofScotland spokeonourpositioninthe UnitedKingdomandtheSNP respectthatresult.

Sincethen,thepeopleof Scotlandhavebeendraggedout theEuropeanUnion,againstour expressedwill.Assuch,wewill seektointroducean independencereferendum beforetheendofthe parliamentaryterm.

NuclearWeapons

TheSNPhasneverandwillnever supporttheretentionorrenewal ofTrident.Webelievethat nuclearweaponsareimmoral, ineffectiveandexpensive.

Webelievethatthebillionsof poundsthatarespentonTrident NuclearWeaponswillbebetter spentonEducationand Healthcare,becausethatiswhat mattersmost.

WealsobelievethattheUK’s nuclearweaponsprogramme mustnotbekeptinFaslane withoutthepermissionofthe peoplethatliveinthatarea.

CelticAlliance

TheSNPGovernmentwillseek tobegintalksforaCelticAlliance betweentheWelshGovernment, theNorthernIrelandExecutive, theIrishGovernmentandother regionswithintheUKwithCeltic heritage.

War&Peace

ItisafirmbeliefoftheSNPthat theworldweliveinmustbea peacefulone,andwewillstand indirectoppositiontoanywar acrosstheworld.Wewillalso advocatefortheUKGovernment tostopallformsofintervention inthewaronterrorintheMiddle East.
