SincetheSNPtookcontrolofthe ScottishExecutivein2007,wehave consistentlydeliveredforScotland.I amnowaskingyoutoputyourtrust inusagain,andtore-electaScottish Governmentthatisworkingfor Scotland.
Wehaveintroducedreformsto Scottishdemocracythathavenot beenseensincedevolution.Wehave agender-balancedcabinet,pavingthe wayforequalityinournation,andwe aimtogofurther.Thismanifestoisour programmeforgovernmentforthe nextfiveyears.
Wehavedeliveredtransparentand opengovernance,neverseenbefore. Wehaveacabinetthatreflectsthe viewsofourpartyandofourcountry.
Itisthedefiningmissionofmy leadershiptouniteourpartyand returnhomeruleforScotland.Thatis amissionthatIamdeterminedto fulfil.
TheScottishNationalPartyis Scotland’sparty,andweare-and alwayswillbe-StrongerforScotland.
Wehavenowachievedindependence forourgreatnation,andaswejoin thenationsoftheworldwemustlook tothefuturewithanopenmindon thetypeofcountrythatwewantto build.
Today,Scotlandstandsasaselfgoverning,independentnation,free fromtheoversightbycorrupt politiciansinWestminster.
TheScotlandthatIseektobuildisa Scotlandthatisbuiltondiversityand hope.AcaringandnurturingScotland thatputspeoplebeforeprofit.
IwanttobuildahealthierScotland, withfreeprescriptionsandbetterdrug addictionservices.
Iwanttoseemorefundingawarded towardsbuildingnewhospitalsand GPpractises.
Iwanttoseemoredoctorsandnurses inourNationalHealthService,and mostimportantly,Iwanttotackleour nationshealthcarechallengeswith thefairness,dignityandrespectthat isrequired.
Iwanttobringfreepersonalcarefor everybodyinourcountry,withthe introductionofaNationalCareService overthecourseofthenext parliament.
Ourjourneystartsnow.Thisisour opportunitytotrulyshapethefuture ofourcountry.
AsPrimeMinister,Iwillmakeitmy missiontoleadScotlandforwardand towardsgreaterprogress.Progress thatisgoodandbeneficialto everybodythatlivesandworkshere inScotland.
IwanttoseeaScotlandthatisakey playerintheinternationalcommunity. Aself-governing,freeandprosperous EuropeannationisallthatIhaveever wanted-andwecanachieveit.
Iwillbeginpreparationstosubmit applicationtojointheEuropeanUnion andNATO.
