You can book an appointment with one of our wonderful Weight Loss Doctors.

These are conducted via Zoom and are a great opportunity to not only get a weight loss programme uniquely built for you, you will also get all the tips and advice that you

Or if time is tight, our Online Prescription Service is ideal for you. You request your medication, add supporting elements and build your own bespoke programme. You then supply your medical history via our secure forms for our Doctors to review. This Online Service is available anytime, 24/7.

And of course you can switch between the two services to suit your needs.

Your Video Appointment

Our Initial Video Appointments are the most convenient and comprehensive way to start an online weight loss programme you can find. We know that getting to a location to start your weight loss can be timeconsuming and inconvenient and we wanted to make it as easy as possible for you to lose weight.

During your initial appointment with the doctor, they will talk to you about your goals for weight loss, what you would like to achieve, and how we can help you achieve them! Whilst on the call, the doctor will assess your suitability for our weight loss programmes and ensure that joining with The Slimming Clinic is the appropriate weight loss route for you and your lifestyle requirements.

Please remember that for your Initial Appointment you will need to be:

• Be under 60 years of age.

• Be stationary for the duration of the video appointment (approximately 50 minutes)

• Have access to your email – as this will have all the details of your Initial Video Appointment, app download instructions and pre-appointment questionnaire.

• Have your blood pressure machine and a set of weighing scales available as the doctor will need to see your weight and blood pressure reading.

• Have access to a computer/tablet/ smart phone with a camera and video capabilities.

• Download our Slimming Clinic app to enable you to have your video appointment

• Fill in your pre-appointment questionnaire at least 48-hours before your appointment

Dietitian Appointments

Our dietitian appointments come in blocks of 3.

The first appoint will be 45 minutes. This gives the dietician time to get to know the you, understand yourlifestyle and requirements and to give good quality advice.

You will then get 2 twenty minute follow up appointments, booked at the your convenience but typically these will be 2 weeks and 6 weeks after your initial appointment. In total the you will be receiving 1 ½ hours with our dietitian.

If after this you would like more help, then you can book single sessions for £35 for 30 minutes. These single appointment can only be booked after the initial block of three.

The Slimming Clinic Express is perfect if you are in a hurry!

How Our Online Prescription Service Works

How long does the service take?

Patient safety is at the heart of everything we do here at The Slimming Clinic. To allow us to safely dispense your first order, we advise patients to allow 3 to 5 days. If you are returning to us to renew a previous prescription, this could well be quicker. You can help us by providing us with everything that our Doctors need to authorise your prescription. If information is missing we will be in touch to help you provide everything we need. This will however delay your order.

How do I know when my prescription has been dispensed?

When your prescription is dispensed, you will receive an email from us which will contain all the details you need to safely take your medication. In addition, you will receive an SMS from us with your Royal Tracking reference. This will be sent before 9am the day after we send your package.

What if I am not suitable for the medication that I have requested?

We will be in touch to talk about other options. Be assured we will do our best to assist you to hit your weight loss and health goals.

Would you like a discount off your next order?

The first part of your weight loss programme to decide on will be your prescription weight loss medications, where necessary.

We offer a range of prescription appetite medications and will spend time with you to find the best medication for your needs.

During your Initial Video Appointment, your doctor will talk to you through all the weight loss medication options and together, you can decide on the best treatment for your needs.

Prescription Weight Loss Medication

We offer two types of tablet appetite suppressant medication at The Slimming Clinic: Phentermine and Diethylpropion.

Weight Loss Tablets

We offer two types of tablet appetite suppressant medication at The Slimming Clinic: Phentermine and Diethylpropion.

These are tablet medications that alter the release of chemical messengers within the hypothalamus, which is the appetite control centre of the brain. This causes appetite suppression and reduced hunger perception, giving you more control over your hunger and cravings

Weight Loss Injections

We also offer the weight loss injections, Saxenda, Ozempic, Wegovy & Mounjaro.

Saxenda

Saxenda® contains the active drug Liraglutide, which is similar to a naturally occurring hormone (GLP-1) that is released by the digestive system after consuming food.

This weight loss medication works in a very similar way to our tablets. It safely controls your hunger through acting on receptors in the appetite control centre of the brain. As well as this, Saxenda® also postpones the emptying of your stomach, causing you to feel fuller quicker and for a longer period of time.

Our appetite suppressant medications are not prescribed to completely take away your appetite.

Instead, they suppress/reduce your appetite, so you have more control of your hunger and begin to adjust to new, healthier eating habits.

Mounjaro

Mounjaro, is a weekly weight loss injection with the active ingredient tirzepatide. Tirzepatide works on two different hormonal receptors: glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). You may have heard of GLP-1 from other weight loss injections. GLP-1 helps to regulate blood sugar levels, which in turn talks to the brain to make you feel less hungry and prevent cravings. It also slows down the emptying of the stomach to keep you feeling fuller for longer.

GIP regulates energy balance in brain and fat cells, enhancing the GLP-1 effect of suppressing your appetite and improving sugar control.

By mimicking the effects of both these naturally occurring hormones, Mounjaro has been shown to have greater weight loss potential than medicines that work on GLP-1 alone.

Within one year of starting treatment, 42.3% of those taking tirzepatide had lost at least 15% of their weight.

Wegovy

Wegovy (Semaglutide), is a once-a-week injectable weight loss medication that works on the appetite receptors in the brain to reduce feelings of hunger and cravings.

The injection imitates GLP1 – a naturally occurring hormone in your body – which is released after you eat and indicates to your brain that you are full. These medications also work to slow the emptying of your stomach, which leads to feelings of fullness for longer after you have eaten.

Chromium

Chromium is a mineral that is considered essential, meaning we cannot make it in our bodies so it must be obtained from our diet.

Several studies have indicated that taking chromium supplements can help:

• Obesity by reducing food intake, hunger and cravings and reduce the frequency of binge-eating episodes.

• Glucose intolerance by improving blood glucose control in those with type 2 diabetes or help control the glucose and insulin responses in those a risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

It’s used to make new cells and DNA (the genetic material in all your cells), and to keep your nerves and red blood cells healthy.

It is an important vitamin to have within your diet as it is not something that our bodies naturally produce. It is a watersoluble vitamin, meaning we need to replenish it every single day, since it is not stored in our bodies like fat-soluble vitamins.

Vitamin D3

Vitamin D is a vital vitamin mostly produced in the skin by exposure to sunlight. It controls how the body absorbs calcium and phosphate which is important for strong bones, a healthy immune system and regulating mood.

Despite its name, vitamin D is not a vitamin, but a multifunctional hormone, contributing to lots of functions within the body and having the right amount of vitamin D can make us healthier, not just today, but in the future too.
