The Skyline College Journalism Department offers you the opportunity to not only train in a career in the media, but also to become well-informed and media literate.

You’ll gain writing and communication skills, along with practical experience in creating both a print and online newspaper, experience which is invaluable in securing internships and employment.

Train on industry-standard software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, and more. Learn digital storytelling, social media skills, blogging, and data journalism. You’ll have access to top-notch digital recorders, cameras, podcasting equipment, and more.

Attend journalism conferences, including a one-day Northern California conference in the fall and a three-day state-wide conference held each spring with opportunities to attend workshops, participate in contests, and network with professionals in the field.

Leave with advantage when you transfersince you’ll already have been published and have had experience on a newspaper staff.
