May 11, KI High School Gym, 11am-2pm • Rain or Shine Join The Shore Update on Saturday, May 11 for our 8th Annual Shore Kids Connection, a free family event. Bring the entire family for a day of fun with lots of giveaways and over 75 vendors and youth groups with something for everyone to enjoy. Here are a few of the free offerings and exhibits: •Free water, hot dogs and ice cream for the Àrst 200 kids 12 & under •Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center’s Birds of Prey Exhibit •First 200 kids 12 and under make and take a special Mother’s Day treat •Free bike helmets courtesy of United Communities Volunteer Fire Department •Free book for kids and other giveaways •Hands-on reptile exhibit by Bayside Summer Adventure Camp •KIVFD “Smoke House” •QAC Sheriff’s OfÀce Display & K-9 Unit •Interactive Healthy Kids Booth and Kid’s Play Area •Centreville Masonic’s Lodge CHIP Id Program, Free Child ID program •Goody Bag Scavenger Hunt •Balloon artist We will also be fundraising for the Sipes family of Queenstown, whose son Nicholas is battling cancer. •RafÁes •All money collected from our GIVING PASS And don’t forget that Sunday, May 12 is Mother’s Day. Kids will Ànd fun items to surprise mom with on her special day including everything from candles, jewelry and sweet treats for sale to free crafts to make and take. We hope to see you and your family on Saturday, May 11 at Kent Island High School from 11am-2pm. We will be there rain or shine as most of the activities will be in the gym and cafeteria. Now in its 11th Year, Capt. Chris Dollar’s Kayak Fishing Camp teaches lifelong outdoor skills to Middle School girls & boys in a fun, safe setting.
