Since my arrival as Executive Director at the close of 2022, I have witnessed firsthand the remarkable growth and transformation of our Chamber. With the enthusiastic support of over 150 new Partners, we have cultivated an environment where businesses thrive, collaborate, and innovate.

Forney, a city with a rich history, has its roots deeply intertwined with the development of Texas itself. The area was first settled in the mid1800s and was originally known as Brooklyn. It was not until 1873 that the name was officially changed to Forney, in honor of the influential railroad official, John W. Forney. The advent of the Texas and Pacific Railway marked a turning point in Forney's growth, as it brought connectivity and opportunities for trade and commerce.

Throughout the years, Forney has weathered its fair share of challenges, but its resilience has always shone through. The city's

agricultural heritage, centered around cotton and other crops, played a crucial role in its early development. As time progressed, Forney evolved into a bustling community with diverse industries, from manufacturing to retail, adding to its economic strength. Today, Forney stands as a harmonious blend of the past and the present. The city proudly preserves its historic charm through carefully preserved landmarks and buildings while embracing modernity with cutting-edge businesses and innovative initiatives.

The Forney Chamber Ambassador Program is a group designed to enhance the Forney Chamber of Commerce's outreach, engagement, and support for its members and the local business community. Our group of dedicated volunteers known as Ambassadors serve as the Chamber's goodwill representatives and the face of the chamber. These ambassadors play a crucial role in fostering stronger relationships between the chamber, its partners, and the broader business community.

What does an Ambassador do? Some rolls include but are not limited to: Welcoming businesses to the community; seeking new members for the chamber or explaining what a Chamber is/does; attend ribbon-cutting ceremonies for new businesses/new business locations; contact existing members to ensure they’re satisfied with membership; inform the Chamber office of member needs and concerns; attend monthly Business After Hours events; represent the Chamber within the community perform social media

responsibilities and share Chamber event information as needed

Infinity Texas Air “Where Comfort Never Ends”

Leaving corporate America behind 7 years ago, Tiffany Barnes found her calling within the walls of Infinity Texas Air, a company known for its commitment to excellence and community engagement. Her decision to transition was fueled by a deep-seated belief in the power of collective action and the importance of giving back. Each day, she channels her dedication into tangible actions, whether it’s helping homeowners with their HVAC systems or extending a helping hand to those in need. At Infinity Texas Air, Tiffany’s passion for community service found a home.

Five years ago, Tiffany, along with her husband, Trapper Barnes, cocreated “A Cause for Paws” program, where Infinity Texas Air sponsors one dog every month from the local animal shelter. When the dog is matched with their perfect family, Infinity Texas Air takes care of all adoption fees and gives the family a Welcome Home Kit, complete with a leash, collar, bed, bowls, and food. Later that year, Tiffany and Trapper also created Infinity Texas Air’s annual BBQ & Backpacks event. Every July, Infinity teams up with a local BBQ master, serving plates of BBQ to local residents, to raise money for Forney ISD students in need of school supplies.

Tiffany has lived in Forney for almost 25 years. Watching her children grow up in the community has given her the opportunity to be involved in many youth activities, multiple school functions, leadership roles in school PTO programs and advising on local committees, all of which helped lead her to Infinity Texas Air and its dedication to serving Forney and the surrounding areas. In her free time, Tiffany enjoys spending time with her husband and their children, whether it’s a day by the pool, watching sports on the back porch, or a trip to the beach when time allows. Most recently, you can find her on a golf course, but don’t get too close just yet, she still has a lot to learn!

Brandon joined New York Life in 2022 as an agent with a focus on Business Solutions. He has had a 14-year career in many aspects of manufacturing most recently being Operations Manager for a world-renowned manufacturing company. Brandon also spent 5 years as a Fire Fighter/EMT in Washington state prior to moving to Texas.

Brandon focuses on building relationships within his community and surrounding areas. He provides education and support for business owners as well as their employees to secure their financial future and goals. His experiences have afforded him the knowledge to know the need for protecting one’s financial future as well as planning for unforeseen, life altering circumstances. Whether you are seeking private financial planning or wholistic business solutions for group benefits and beyond, Brandon and his team are the superior choice.

He has lived in Heartland for the last 4 years and was born and raised in Central Washington until he moved to Arizona for Tech School. Brandon is a servant-leader in the Forney business community as a Chamber Ambassador for Forney Chamber of Commerce, serving on the Board of Directors for Forney Chamber of Commerce, and as an Ambassador for Forney Economic Development Corporation. Brandon has a deep understanding of the needs in the Forney Business community as well as the connections to help meet those needs over and above what he offers as an agent. Being active in the Forney community in these capacities has been both personally rewarding and beneficial to the business community at large. Brandon enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 sons. He loves the Lord, traveling, golfing, hunting, fishing, and teaching his sons to find fulfillment in all that they do.

Beth joined HomeBank Texas in 2021 as a Vice President. She has a 25-year career in many different facets of banking. Her experience includes retail banking, operational excellence, and success in commercial lending.

Beth invests time with her clients to understand their needs and deliver superior service. Her experience with complex transactions gives her the ability to be a knowledgeable lender in closing loans efficiently. From Homestead loans to investor Commercial Real Estate, Beth is the lender of choice in the greater Forney and Rockwall markets.

She has lived in Rockwall or the surrounding communities for majority of her life. Beth currently resides in Forney, Texas. Growing up in Rockwall has given her experience throughout the DFW Metroplex. Her involvement in the United States Christian Chamber of Commerce, the Forney Chamber of Commerce and Rockwall Chamber of Commerce have been rewarding for her personally and beneficial to the business community. VICTORY SHOPS IS A WIN FOR FORNEY

Victory Shops has exponentially grown since its introduction into Forney just a few short years ago.

The outlet is now blossoming with new businesses seemingly every month. The Joint Chiropractic, Dillas Quesadillas, CareNow, Aspen Dental and T-Mobile are just some of the businesses that are part of the Forney Chamber of Commerce that have opened in the last few months.

Other businesses within the Victory Shops include Pizza Patrón, NobiliTea, Mix It Up, Mo’Bettahs and Cava.

The Joint Chiropractic is offering ways to help customers that are seeking relief from everyday aches and pains or looking to maintain a healthy, active life through their adjustments.

Dillas Quesadillas, one of the newer eateries at the Victory Shops, offers mouth-watering options for the quesadilla lover. Their motto is, “Good food, good people, good times.” And that is exactly what they bring to the table, literally.

OPPORTUNITY CENTRAL IS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION

The new Keith Bell Opportunity Central in Forney is just that: opportunity central.

Whatever you can think of in Forney, The OC offers just that. Want to visit the first floor for shopping, dining, and entertainment? Do you want to book a new class, try out a new skill, check out a theater performance, concert or sporting event? You can even come in to get your hair done, get your car fixed or record a podcast.

The idea began nearly a decade ago in the mind of Forney ISD Superintendent Dr. Justin Terry. The firstof-its-kind education and opportunity space opened in August 2023 and has been a hit with the community right off the bat.

“Dr. Terry had the vision that he wanted a facility that not only offers career and technical programming to students, but that could involve the community as well,”

Morris said The OC’s goal is for students to learn what it takes in all facets to be successful and how businesses function.

“We want them to learn everything from the back of house to front of house operations,” Morris said. “Whether that’s inventory management, customer service, bookkeeping, or any aspect it takes to run a business.”

Director of Business Partnerships Talana Morris said. “The idea is that we are integrating students with businesses and community.” Texas State Representative Keith Bell attended the ribbon cutting of The OC on February 2, 2024. The building was named after Bell, former president of the Forney ISD Board of Trustees

“I think everyone is still learning what it is,” Morris said. “The idea has evolved a lot over the years, but there’s nothing like this in the U.S. There’s nowhere that integrates the CTE school with the community aspect and a mall-like setting on the first floor and the special event space. It’s very innovative and unique. He (Superintendent Dr. Terry) worked with a futurist that said this is the future of education.”

and who has always been a longtime supporter of public education.

The students that attend classes at The OC, located at 680 Innovation Boulevard, are students from Forney and North Forney High School. Students take CTE classes at The OC but take core classes on campus at the high schools as well. Virtual students and dual credit students may also have classes at The OC.

The OC accommodates over 2,000 students from both campuses daily and currently offers up to 17 CTE programs with more being added in the 24-25 school year. “The reaction to the opening

of the campus has been nothing short of exciting,” Morris said.

“It’s been great,” Morris stated. “The business owners here are receptive or else they wouldn’t be here. I think they’ve been very surprised at the quality of some of the things the students are doing for their businesses. They’re really enjoying the opportunity to teach them and learn from them as well.”

Current OC hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. In the future, The OC expects to be open on Sundays as well.

The building is 350,000 square feet that spans three stories including spaces for student-led initiatives. It’s also designed to maximize space and flexibility. The CTE programs offered at The OC vary based on the path of the individual student and the career they want to pursue. Programs include entrepreneurship, marketing and sales, healthcare diagnostics, healthcare therapeutic, exercise science and wellness, construction management, automotive technology, cosmetology, education and training, emergency services, law enforcement, design and multimedia arts,

digital communications, horticulture and floral design, fashion design, cybersecurity and engineering.

Event venues, including the 600seat Black Box Theater and a 6,500-seat arena, have rental spaces available to the entire community. Classrooms are available for day, evening and weekend college and community classes. The OC has also partnered with Dallas College, Trinity Valley Community College and Texas Tech University for dual-credit classes, programs, certifications and degrees.

The Black Box Theater will serve as the tornado shelter and has a center-stage design with seating on all four sides. It also has flexible space for lectures, performances and events. The arena has 6,500 cushioned stadium seats and floor space for up to 1,200 seats. It will also have a regulation basketball court, or space for three basketball courts or eight volleyball courts. It has a 24’x42’ digital screen and two additional digital screens with a digital display ribbon that runs above the top seats.

Architects of The OC are Huckabee Architects and Gallagher Construction Services.

The first floor of The OC offers a separate, secure Early Childhood Center with over 400 three and four-year old students and OC Junior, which has a play village with mini OC shops, a two-story play structure and is available for week-

end and evening rentals. Students in the teaching and learning pathway also get hands-on experiences working with the pre-K students at The OC.

There is even a cosmetology school and student-operated salon partnered with TVCC that is offered on the first floor across from the OC Junior. Next to that is the Engage Program, which offers student and community enrichment classes on evenings and weekends. There is also an art gallery with student artwork on full display.

Coming later in 2024 is the Novus Escape Room, delving into character-based escape room games, and Code Ninjas, a coding enterprise that teaches kids vital skills through an engaging game-based curriculum. Both of these initiatives will be student operated.

The west side entrance also introduces visitors to eateries like Mary Sue’s by Eddie Deen and Southern Social Eatery, offering the best in meats, sides and southern classics. The east side features Taqueria Forney, offering authentic Mexican fare and house made tortillas, and Latham Bakery will also be debuting soon with its sweet pastries, cookies and cake confections, including personalized cakes.

The OC also offers retail options to visitors with Pine & Ivy, Royal T Designs, The Rancher’s Wife Boutique, Stay Golden Gifts & Artisan Market, Blooms Floral, Printer TX and so much more.

Around the front of the building is The Mix, powered by Huckabee, a collaborative space with comfortable furniture and open guest Wifi for students and visitors to find a nice, quiet, relaxing place to kick back and study or take some time to themselves. Right up front as well is a boost of caffeine to start your day with White Rhino Coffee offering all sorts of delicious hot and cold brews as well as tasty pastries and treats.

Just to the right of The Mix is the Welcome Center where visitors can get more information about The OC, like

event rentals and A/V support.

The Green Room around the corner on the east side offers a photography space that is rentable for sessions or small receptions.

Staying in the multimedia area, the east side also has a full recording studio for artists and podcasting entrepreneurs.

As you walk down the corridor, you’ll see Martin’s Automotive as well as the automotive program. It has a four-bay automotive center with student automotive classes in partnership with Dallas College that operates two bays. The other two bays are operated by Martin’s for public diagnostic, maintenance and repair services.

Around to the backside is the construction lab powered by Gallagher Construction. It has a large area with tools and equipment for construction technology students’ projects or for tech theatre students to build sets.

The east side also includes eateries like Latham Bakery and Taqueria Forney and common dining areas for people to enjoy their meals.

Future activities at The OC includes a makerspace – Assembly Required, an E-sports lab, theater performances, pickleball courts, fitness classes, “edu-tainment”, sports leagues, community classes and so much more.

Students earn high school credit for their work in the businesses but if the owners decide to hire students outside of their class period, students can also gain paid experience.

According to Morris, there are many business owners that want space in the building, but the space is limited with how many vendors are already operating out of The OC.

FORNEY NON-PROFITS HAVE PASSION TO GIVE BACK

When people think of Forney, they think of a city that is blossoming at a rapid pace. New business springing up each day with more new residents and business owners with each passing year. The “City Without Limits” isn’t just the motto of the city, it also extends to the efforts that many non-profits in Forney have when it comes to their giving nature.

There are 16 501(c)(3)s throughout the City of Forney and the number continues to expand. These nonprofit organizations lend a helping hand and serve many different communities with their generous hearts.

The Forney Arts Council was created in 2010 based on the inspiration of a few passionate people in Forney. It has grown and is strengthened through the efforts of its citizens and volunteers. With the support of those who give back, their endeavors include singer/songwriter house concerts, art gallery shows, art and music classes for children and adults as well as festivals.

Their primary goal is to promote local artists by giving them a venue to connect with the public through excellence in both education and performance.

The Forney Historic Preservation League operates the Spellman Museum of Forney History in downtown Forney. The museum’s mission is to collect, preserve, document and present the story of Forney and the surrounding area with the goal of educating the widest possible audience.

The Children’s Advocacy Center for Kaufman County has a big responsibility as it helps with coordinating the investigation, prosecution and treatment of child abuse cases across Kaufman County. The Advocacy Center is modeled on the simple but powerful concept of coordination between professionals involved in the system. The CAC preserves the dignity of child victims, maintains their trust and ensures their best interests remain the heart of every criminal investigation. All of their services are provided in a nurturing,

friendly and safe environment at no cost to a child’s family.

Lone Star CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) has worked for the last 30 years in both Kaufman and Rockwall counties to provide assistance and elevate the voices of children who have experienced abuse and neglect by providing trained volunteer advocates to work alongside children and families so they can achieve safety and stability to fulfill their potential. They support volunteers who gather important information about abused and neglected children and offer recommendations to judges that help them decide what is in the best interests of each child.

REACH Child Placing Agency was founded by Terrell resident Tammy L. Pargoud in 2018. She partnered with local churches in multiple counties, including Kaufman County, to care for children who have been abused and neglected and families in crisis. Pargoud began recruiting and facilitating PRIDE training classes for foster and

adoptive families. She serves as the bridge and liaison between each county’s local Department of Family and Protective Servies and the Christian families she serves.

The Door Life and Pregnancy Resource Center is a faith-based nonprofit organization. Their vision is for Forney to be a community where life is celebrated, and families thrive. The Door provides supportive services to pregnant women and those directly impacted by their pregnancies. They offer many free services on-site, including pregnancy testing, options counseling, assistance with Medicaid applications, pre-natal and childcare

education, Learn and Earn (nursery equipment/baby supplies), life skills training, fatherhood program and lay counseling for life’s challenges. They also provide referrals for community resources, medical services (prenatal and well woman care), ultrasound, STD/STI testing, maternity/provisional housing, adoption programs and professional counseling.

The Forney Education Foundation provides opportunities for excellence in education, promoting innovation in teaching and partnering with the community to enhance the quality of education for all students. Their vision is lighting the way for teaching and

learning at Forney ISD. It was created in 2003 and formalized in 2004, awarding over $2 million in scholarships from 2004-2017 to all qualifying Forney ISD high school seniors who met the criteria. Beginning in the fall of 2008, the Foundation launched the Innovative Grant Program for Forney ISD teachers, administrators and staff to recognize and support innovative instructional programs and initiatives which will positively impact the students of Forney ISD, to date the foundation has given over $1,050,000 to classroom teachers.

In 2017, the Foundation partnered with Forney ISD and created the Dual Credit Advantage Plus+ Program. Since

inception, the Forney Education Foundation has awarded over $100,000 to dual-credit, CTE and AP students.

In 2022, the foundation began supporting new initiatives including the first annual Forney ISD Film Festival and summer STEAM Camps. In 2023, the foundation began supporting Project Backpack providing backpacks and school supplies for over 1,500 students at Forney ISD.

The Forney Red Raiders program provides the opportunity for children to participate in a sport that requires skill, strength and strategic thinking and the desire to play as part of a team. The program believes that football can enhance your life, improving fitness, strength and coordination. Whether your child is looking to play flag football or tackle football, the Red Raider organization is a great place to learn new skills and meet new friends.

The Forney Legacy Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the community and its schools. Each year, the organization hosts the Holly

Jolly Market in the month of December to encourage citizens to shop locally and help mom and pop businesses in Forney.

Sharing Life Community Outreach’s mission is to end hunger and poverty by demonstrating compassion to those in need through food, clothing, financial

resources and educational programs. In 2016, they became a HUB for the North Texas Food Bank which allows them to offer food quicker and at a more affordable cost to smaller pantries. They also provide emergency financial assistance including utilities, rent and mortgage payments, as well as non-food essentials like clothing, toiletries, cleaning supplies, diapers, formula, medical equipment, linens and kitchenware. They also have a financial empowerment center, their W.A.R.M. Program as well as their seasonal programs.

Forney Memorial VFW Post 9180 is a gathering place and an organization for Veterans of Foreign Wars to come together and share memories. Annually, the VFW and its auxiliaries, like Post 9180, contribute more than 8.6 million hours of volunteerism in the community. VFWs, as a whole, also provide over $3 million in college scholarships and savings bonds to students every year.

Forney Lions Club got its start in 1978, best known for fighting blindness. Along with their continued work in that area, the club also volunteers for many kinds of community projects, including scholarships for Forney students, food assistance and helping seniors and the disabled. They help contribute eye exams at area schools, distribute eyeglasses to those less fortunate and help raise awareness of eye disease. They work to empower volunteers to serve their community, encourage youth and promote health.

The Young Marines program offers its participants a variety of experiences,

from encountering the outdoors in a variety of challenging ways, to meeting notable veterans and political figures, to participating in solemn ceremonies on days of remembrance, such as Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and in recent years, commemoration ceremonies honoring veterans of Pearl Harbor. Along the way, Young Marines learn the values of discipline and teamwork, the fundamentals of land navigation, rank structure, and much more, such as self-respect and respect for others.

Sharing the Love Foundation was founded in 2012 on the idea of encouraging youth to make an impact in the lives of others. Their team is led by youth volunteers that are dedicated to the success of the ministry. They provide many outreach events, such as Legacy Children’s Garden, Youth Summer Camp, Sharing the Blessing, Senior Angel Tree, Easter in the Garden, Terrell Jubilee Love of Cars and the Love of Veterans Auto Show.

FP Assistance or Food Program Assistance was founded in 1995. They are a sponsor of the USDA National food program, and they assist low income and nonprofit childcare centers relying on government assistance to feed children meals that are healthy. They also provide training as well as financial and administrative assistance to childcare centers in low-income areas across Texas.

Bee Happy began in 2019 behind the dream of Shelley Brookins. Brookins met an intellectually disabled married couple who were homebound who wanted to take part in social activities and be involved in their community but were unable to afford to attend a

state-supported day habilitation program and they began to struggle with anxiety and depression. Her mission with Bee Happy is to assist families who have amazing people with developmental disabilities with support at all stages of life. They want to provide hope and be the arms of Jesus and assist them all to reach their personal potential through many different avenues.

As you can see, the numerous numbers of thankless nonprofit organizations throughout the City of Forney contribute in every avenue possible when it comes to helping those in their community that are less fortunate, in great need, and the great number of volunteers that step up to lend a hand in Forney are one of the many reasons so many are attracted to the “City Without Limits.”

STACKING CHIPS, SINKING PUTTS HELPS KEEP CHAMBER ABOVE PAR

The Forney Chamber of Commerce hosts two big events each year that help raise money for the chamber: The Annual Civic Auction and Casino Night as well as the Chamber Golf Tournament.

The Civic Auction and Casino Night took place at Rusted Rail Country Club in Crandall with the golf tournament teeing off from Buffalo Creek Golf Club in Rockwall.

Casino night provides Chamber members and guests with a fun night of cards, community and a great atmosphere. Guests can rake in the chips, roll the dice, and enjoy cocktails as well as good conversation as they raise money for the Chamber to put on future events as it remains their biggest fundraiser.

The golf tournament saw the perfect fall weather last year as golfers

enjoyed a cool, crisp Autumn day of great drives, putts and friendly competition. Those wishing to donate can sponsor a hole in one, a cart, towels, photo booths and so much more.

Both events provide a full day and night experience and are the biggest events of the year that you definitely don’t want to miss out on.
