Picture of Success Annette Rose and her twin were born one cold March day in Grenora, North Dakota. They grew up on a farm south of Grenora, them being the youngest of seven children. At age three their mother passed away. The children attended the country school for two years, later the father moved the family to Williston, however summers were spent on the farm. Annette's pride comes from her three children; Joan in California, Loren in Indiana, and Karen (calls "my baby") living in Williston. Her children are the reasons why I, the mother, live here. Every year or two in June the daughters and mother meet at some wonderful spot--with or without the family for sight-seeing and fun. It's always with pleasure one can look forward to these special days. Annette Rose graduated from the University of North Dakota at age 52 with honors, finishing in three years! She has a love for learning and for the many young bright students who also attended. She has developed the Recycling Program that has started here at the Heritage Center. She has spent many hours working in the library to "shape it up." Throughout her life she has contributed volunteer work, from designing and writing newsletters to fixing hair of elderly ladies in nursing homes. Because Annette has been so dedicated to organizing our Center's library and starting the paper-recycling program here, we honor her as our Volunteer of the Month for July 2008.
