Picture of Success John was born December 5, 1944 in San Francisco, CA. He was raised in Seattle until 1961. That is when his father, a career Navy Officer for 26 years, was transferred from Seattle to Williston, to be a Navy Recruiter. John was 16 years old at that time, and said moving to Williston was a "cultural shock". John graduated from Williston High School in 1963 and from there enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He said that after three years, 10 months and nineteen day he left the Navy. He returned to Williston, and works as a Policeman for a year. John moved to Bismarck. He worked on the Police Force in Bismarck and retired as a police captain after twenty-one years. He then went to Nevada, where he worked in the Nevada Correctional System until retiring in 2004 and returned to Williston. John has one brother and two sisters. In 1968, he married Lois Arlene Stewart. John said that the happiest day of his life was his wedding day. Lois was born and raised in Williston, and she graduated from Williston High School. Her parents were Bill and Mabel Stewart. Lois was the only girl in her family and she has four brothers. She said they teased her often, and continue to do so, but she loves them dearly. John and Lois have three children, one son and two daughters. They also have five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. John's favorite memory was catching the greased pig at the Williston Band Day Parade Celebration and Lois' favorite memory is spending time her aunt, uncle, and cousin's in Ray, North Dakota every summer. The Pearcy's attend Corcordia Lutheran Church and are involved with making braille bibles, which are sent to nineteen different countries. John also served as a member on various church boards and projects at the Concordia Church. John and Lois were advisors for an explorer troop for 21 years in Bismarck. One of John's hobbies is working on electric trains. He also enjoys being a grandpa, being with family, hunting, fishing and especially enjoys his retirement years with Lois. Lois likes baseball and fishing, but the best of times for her is being with John. Lois enjoys collecting tea pots (she has 282) and baseball cards. We love having the Pearcy's help with the recycled card program. They are such sincere and encouraging people. Since they started, two more ladies have joined the original group; giving the senior center five volunteers for this crucial volunteer program. The Senior Center and the First National Bank and Trust are proud to acknowledge John and Lois Pearcy as our volunteers of the month for June 2010.

Saturday, 26th • 7:00pm Williston High School Auditorium Much of David’s musical success can be credited to his widespread appeal. His fans still range from pre-teens to retirees, with musical tastes that vary from classical to pop. David distinguished himself as a child prodigy and began touring as a concert pianist at the age of ten. By fourteen, he performed the Mozart Piano Concerto in F Major with the Houston Chamber Orchestra. He won a nationwide talent show at the age of fifteen and toured England, Germany, France, Switzerland and Holland. When he was sixteen, he was the featured soloist with the Houston Symphony, performing the difficult Khachaturian Piano Concerto, 45 minutes in length under the direction of renowned conductor, Andre Previn. Over 30 of his compositions have reached the top of the charts, some titles sharing the #1 place simultaneously in more than one genre. Favorites such as his signature song, “We Are the Reason” have been recorded by well over 200 other artists and sung in several languages. His songs caught on internationally and so did his travels as he became a favorite in Australia, Canada, throughout Asia, Europe and South Africa. Life has not always been easy for the gifted artist. David grew up in a house dominated by an abusive, alcoholic father, crippling his self worth and confidence. Because of David’s courage to transparently share his powerful testimony of forgiveness, countless individuals have been brought to a place of healing in their own lives! David was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and received the 2009 Visionary Award for the Inspirational Male Soloist division. His life continues to impact millions worldwide. On May 31, 2010, Berlynn Passler, daughter of Sean and Jodi Passler, was injured in an accident at her rural Zahl home. Berlynn is six years old, and sustained injuries to her growth plate in her lower abdomen area. She was later air lifted to Rochester, MN, where she had surgery. Due to the nature of her injuries, she is in a cast that starts at her chest and continues down to her ankles. She will be in this cast for approximately four to six weeks. Berlynn has a long road to recovery and will require several trips to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN in addition to extensive therapy and care. There have been, and will continue to be costs incurred that are above and beyond insurance coverage of the family. A benefit account has been set up on her behalf at Western Cooperative Credit Union.
