Employment Classifications
Classifications are defined at the beginning of this Handbook because they will be used throughout for purposes of salary administration, eligibility for overtime payments, benefits, and many other policies. Dawson colleagues are classified as follows:
Full-time Colleagues: Colleagues hired to work as Dawson staff member. This classification of employeewill work the normal full-time, 32 to 40 hour workweek on a regular basis.
Part-time Colleagues: Colleagueshired to work as a Dawson staff member. This classification of employeewill work fewer than 32 hours per week on a regular basis.
Non-exempt Colleagues: This classification refers to colleagues who are paid an hourly rate and are not exempt from being paidovertimein accordance with applicable federal wage and hour laws. Such colleagues are paid overtime at a rate one and one-half times their regular rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a workweek.
Exempt Colleagues: Colleagueswho are not required to be paid overtime, in accordance with applicable federal wage and hour laws, for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a workweek.
Temporary Associates: Individuals engaged to work full-time or part-time performing an assignment for a specified duration or with the expectation of ending employment in a certain period of time. Generally, Temporary Associates will be assigned to work for Dawson clients, however at times Temporary Associates may work on-site at a Dawson office.
