The Resurrection

"I am the resurrection and the life," Jesus said. "The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die" (John 11:25).

God has defeated Satan through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Through this overwhelming victory, God has also empowered you to overcome any temptation to sin and has provided sufficient resources for you to respond biblically to any problem of life. By relying on God's power and being obedient to His Word, you can be an overcomer in any situation. —

Last year, the camp board, chaired by Anne Hill and primarily made up of volunteers from the Swift Current and Maple Creek area, accomplished a number of renovation projects, with the assistance of a grant from the Anglican Foundation of Canada.

Board members and volunteers worked hard to install new windows, complete upgrades to the kitchen, and install new camp bunk beds, just to name a few important projects.

We are so thankful for all the hard work and countless hours put in by our faithful volunteers. Despite all of this activity, the board still offered a summer kids’ camp as well as three adult retreats in the fall.

The diocese has appointed Kate Berringer as executive director to work with an advisory board to finalize a new camp manual, set the annual budget and fundraising goals, finalize staff position descriptions and policies, prepare a maintenance plan and schedule, and develop 2023 program dates and details.

The advisory board will be made up of interested clergy and lay people from around the diocese.

Exciting things are around the corner. The board asks for your support by way of prayer for this ministry, for God’s will to influence its decision making and by sharing information about job positions and camp details when they become available.

From July 31 to August 4, Bishop Helen Kennedy will lead a justice camp with guest, Su McLeod, Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund youth engagement coordinator.

Stay tuned for more details and for more 2023 camp and retreat dates
