2020 Sales Report


I

n 2020, Santa Lucia Preserve was quickly defined as a sanctuary in the midst of a global pandemic. At one point nearly 90% of homes built were occupied, representing a record level of owners in residence at any one time. Preserve owners and members flocked to the community to enjoy the benefits of open space and outdoor activities, convenient services, and a “work from home” refuge. The concept of “sanctuary” also resonated in the real estate market as the pace of sales experienced a major uptick.

he Preserve also experienced record membership sales with 47 new Ranch Club Members and 73 new Preserve Golf Club Members out of 120 total new members who joined the clubs in 2020.

• Total Sales = $94,727,300 • 2020’s total is more than the previous four years combined • Total number of custom homes sold = 16 • Average number of homes sold for the past four years is 3.5 • This year’s sales represent a 357% increase above average • Total number of lots sold = 32 • Average number of lots sold for the past four years is 6.5 • This year’s sales represent a 392% increase above average • Realtor activity increased four fold in 2020 • In 2019, 6 different Realtors transacted on The Preserve compared to 24 Realtors in 2020

Membership at The Ranch Club includes access to lodging, dining, hiking trails, Sports Center, fitness and wellness programming, swimming pools, Moore’s Lake and glamping, Equestrian Center, social events, kids camps and concierge services. One may be invited to apply for membership at The Ranch Club by purchasing Real Estate and/or in conjunction with an application for equity golf membership.

Membership at The Preserve Golf Club includes access to a 365-acre, Top 100 Tom Fazio designed golf course, practice facilities, unlimited rounds of golf, tournaments, social events, dining, one-on-one golf instruction and group clinics, junior golf camps for kids, and a wellappointed clubhouse and locker rooms with spa-like amenities and massage services.


The Preserve Life Although events at The Preserve looked a bit different in 2020 we found new ways to offer experiences for our record number of owners and members on property this year. Here are some examples of the fun events and activities our members enjoyed throughout the year.

Despite a brief closure in the spring, Preserve Golf Club Members have played 14,400 rounds of golf - our highest year on record! Event highlights included our Annual Trick-or-Treat Tournament, nighttime Glo Golf and our Father’s Day FatherChild Tournament.

Our Ranch Club Members took full advantage of our equestrian programs including day camps, riding lessons, a record number of trail rides, and closing out the Summer with our annual Fall Fandango.

From spring hiking challenges and photo scavenger hunts to summer customizable Mini Day Camps with hiking, soccer, tennis, pickleball, basketball and softball our residents were drawn to The Preserve for outdoor activities and open space this year.

Conservancy

In the spring we offered residents new options for grocery service and to-go meals followed by a farm stand and garden cooking lessons in the fall. Families also enjoyed new holiday offerings including to-go feasts, outdoor pumpkin-carving and crafts, and visits from the socially-distanced Easter bunny.

The Santa Lucia Conservancy’s school program for environmental education shifted to virtually serving over 2,500 school kids, and outreach to the rest of the community has surpassed previous records.

We kicked off Summer with our Inaugural Memorial Day Weekend Fishing Derby on Moore’s Lake and residents continued to enjoy lake life with paddle boarding, canoeing and family fishing excursions.
