Bill Nighy shines in this life affirming story of an elderly man determined to make the most of his remaining days. Transporting Akira Kurosawa’s classic Ikiru to 1950’s England, widower civil servant Williams is living a lonely life working a monotonous bureaucratic job in London. A terminal diagnosis forces him to take stock, setting him on a voyage of self-discovery, where new friends and reflections on his past inspire him to leave his mark on the world.
