She relies on her mother, who is also struggling to adjust to life outside the big city, and her adoring grandmother, who isn't happy they moved away and likes to remind them every chance she gets.

After a spending several idyllic summers together, they grow apart, but as an adult, the now well-travelled Pietro finds the magnetic pull of the mountain hard to resist, and returns to rebuild a dilapidated cottage – and his friendship - with Bruno.

A unique look at the life of celebrated American author Patricia Highsmith based on her diaries, notebooks and the intimate reflections of her lovers, friends and family. Most of Highsmith's novels were adapted for the big screen, including the two films you see below. Excerpts from these are interwoven with fascinating archive material and revealing notes from her private writings to create a vivid, touching portrait of one of the most fascinating female writers.

Scarlet Johansson and Colin Firth star in this adaptation of Tracy Chevalier’s novel about the events surrounding the creation of Vermeer’s Girl With a Pearl Earring. Little is known about the girl in the painting; it is speculated that she was a maid who lived in the house of the painter. Completing the painting requires her to secretly pose without the knowledge of Vermeer's wife and protect herself from the cruel gossip of the world of a 17th century servant.

In a sun dappled Tunisian orchard, a group of young women gather to harvest the fig crop. Under the shade of trees, they flirt and gossip, hopes and dreams are shared, advice is given and personal dramas unfold. The trees bear witness to it all, and so do we, as a patiently observant camera and wonderfully naturalistic performances create the feeling of eavesdropping on their most intimate secrets.
