Snow White, the palace orphan, is horrified that her evil queen Malvinha is stripping Tewkesbury’s natural resources to fund her desperate bid to be the fairest in the land. Back for another bite of the apple this Christmas are the creators of King Arthur: The Panto!; the BAFTAwinning writer Maurice Gran (Birds of a Feather) and local playwright Nick Wilkes (the Almost series).

Our 2022 pantomime is another classic tale brought bang up to date with a sharp, witty script that the whole family will love.

Roses Young Creatives

We are very excited to be launching Roses Young Creatives (RYC)!!

Theatre sessions for 5 – 25 year olds featuring games, improvisation and devising. As well as key skill development around theatre and film, plus special one-off workshops from visiting industry professionals. Our RYC’s will develop their confidence and explore issues relevant to them in a safe space with their peers whilst forming great friendships!

There will be four groups: 5-8 year olds, 9-12 year olds, 13-15 year olds, 16-25 year olds.

Infinite Creativity Club!

Creative Workshops for those aged 10 - 14 with autism

We are delighted to announce we have successfully secured funding from Gloucestershire County Council, to run creative workshops for young people aged 10 to 14 with Autism. The sessions will run once a month, during term time and places are limited to 10 participants. Led by qualified and supportive staff and assistants, as well as team members from The Roses, these sessions offer a great opportunity for young people with autism to experience the expressive and creative arts!

Calling all misfits and weirdos (you know who you are!). The 'Future Film Programmers' have cooked up an intoxicating potion of subversive witchery, supernatural spine tinglers and creepy creature classics. First up, put on your Demonias and let’s kick off with a cult classic – The Craft – a coming of age film steeped in ritual, witchcraft, and feminist spells. Special tarot readings, spooky cocktails, goth-tinged 90s playlist and much more from 5pm. Grab your rosary beads and get involved! Along the way a sprinkle of freaky family fun, scary monster-shockers and a few spooky surprises! Ending the Season on an immersive ‘The Cabin in the Woods’ Event!

Sing for Breath

Join us for a friendly, fun and inclusive group singing session that helps to support lung health. This will be a supportive and nonjudgemental session where the singing serves as a way to help manage lung health using warm ups, breathing exercises, relaxation exercises and songs. You don’t have to have sung before and you can participate at your own pace. We’ll breathe together, sing together and laugh together too!

When: Second Tuesday of every month, Tuesday 13th September, Tuesday 11th October , Tuesday 8th November Tuesday 13th December 2pm - 3.15pm for singing 3.15pm – 4pm for coffee & chat Where: The Roses Cost: Free

Sing 2 Remember

In collaboration with Mindsong

The Roses Theatre and Mindsong are working in partnershop to offer 'Sing 2 Remember', a supported, thoroughly enjoyable, dementiafriendly singing session that's all about singing together, sharing memories, making friendships, and accessing support if needed.

The session is for: • People with dementia still living at home (and those that care for them) • People experiencing loneliness or isolation • People who love to sing, but no longer feel comfortable singing in a choir

Starting fornightly in January 2023, book now for our taster session:

The Roses' Choir

Enjoy the uplifting experience of singing together. You don’t need to be an expert – this is all about having fun. Our choir get regular opportunities to perform throughout the year, both at The Roses and at external events to which they have been invited.

Singing for Wellbeing

with Lindsay Martin

A friendly group singing session using music for relaxation and enjoyment. No experience necessary and you don’t need to be able to read music. We will learn energising and meaningful songs together alongside relaxation.

When: First Wednesday of every month, 2pm-3.15pm Where: Tewkesbury Library Cost: Free
