Summer 2017
The Roses Review Welcome As I write this, the sun is shining and birds are tweeting and the knitters are nattering. We have recently been exploring ideas and ways of engaging with our local community more. You may be aware that we are very lucky to have Jane Griffiths in our team. Jane is a community builder with Barnwood Trust and is based at The Roses. Jane is an asset to both The Roses and the community and is always on the look out for opportunities to help the community access fun, engaging and meaningful activities. I am sure that she would welcome the chance to say hello if you have any groups that need support or ideas for activities. Jane helped our knitters (K2Togs group) to facilitate their weekly meetings. This provides an opportunity to stay active, enjoy creativity, eliminate social isolation and provides many with a much-needed source of peer support. We all hope you enjoy this issue of our newsletter and look forward to seeing you all at The Roses soon.

Why Do You Support Us?
Summer Events And BBQ
We want to learn how The Roses fundraising can position itself in a crowded market dominated by cause–led charities. Therefore, we would like to understand what your reasons are for supporting The Roses and what is important to you.
Exciting outdoor theatre returns to Victoria Gardens this summer with 2 fantastic plays. As You Like It, by MadCap Theatre, comes to Victoria Gardens on Saturday 15 August at 7pm. Romeo & Juliet, by Oddsocks Theatre Company, takes place on Tuesday 29 August at 7pm. Beforehand, from 5.30pm, you can enjoy a barbecue which is kindly sponsored by Warners Budgens.
• Is it because you get early/priority booking? • That you are passionate about the arts? • Do you want to protect the future of your local theatre/arts venue? • Do you value the outreach and community work we do? • Because we are your local charity? • Any other reasons? Because your feedback is so valuable to us, I would really appreciate your time to contact us to let us know your thoughts. Contact Cat on 01684 853070 or email catherine.reese@rosestheatre.org
