Spielberg’s electrifying update on Leonard Bernstein’s 1957 musical is a dazzling all-singing, all-dancing big screen spectacular to get the new year off to a rousing start. Seemingly more fresh and socially relevant than ever, the story explores forbidden love and the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks; two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds.

C'mon C'mon (15)

Joaquin Phoenix follows his Oscar win for Joker with a far more understated role as a radio journalist who unexpectedly becomes an impromptu parent when he is charged with looking after his smart but unpredictable nephew.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (12A)

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero's identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life. When he enlists Doctor Strange's help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who've ever fought a Spider-Man.

The Tragedy of Macbeth (Cert TBC)

The Electrical Life of Louis Wain (12A)

The extraordinary true story of eccentric British artist Louis Wain, whose playful, psychedelic pictures helped to transform the public's perception of cats forever.

Spanning the late 1800s through to the 1930s, we follow the adventures of this inspiring hero as he seeks to unlock the "electrical" mysteries of the world and, in so doing, to better understand his own life.

Titane (18)

This year’s Cannes Palme d’Or winner is a shocking and highly original story of an erotic dancer who grew up with a titanium plate in her skull as the result of a childhood car crash. Her job writhing on vehicles at motor shows allows her to explore a bizarre metal fetish, leading to an unexpected pregnancy, a series of brutal murders and a change of gender.

This daring and giddily entertaining joy ride of a film has to be seen to be believed.

The Matrix Resurrections (Cert TBC)

Twenty years after the events of The Matrix Revolutions, Neo is living a seemingly ordinary life under his original identity, with a therapist who prescribes him blue pills to counteract the strange and unnatural things he occasionally glimpses. However, when a new version of Morpheus offers him a red pill, he finds himself back inside the Matrix, with a new enemy to contend with.

Petite Maman (U)

A small and perfectly formed exploration of childhood, grief and friendship. Following the death of her grandmother, eight-yearold Nelly accompanies her parents to help them clear out her house. While exploring the nearby woods, she encounters a girl of her own age, with whom she finds she has a remarkable amount in common. Filmed during lockdown, this captivating film has the feel of a fairy tale with the profound resonance of a great work of literature.

Boiling Point (15)

Stephen Graham stars in this exhilarating real time thriller, shot in one masterfully orchestrated take. On the busiest night of the year at one of the hottest restaurants in London, charismatic head chef Andy Jones balances along a knife's edge as a surprise visit from a health and safety inspector, tensions between management and crew and the ridiculous demands of customers threaten to destroy everything he's worked for.

The Humans (Cert TBC) Set entirely within the confines of a Manhatten duplex, this piercingly funny drama observes a dysfunctional family at Thanksgiving. As darkness falls outside and eerie things start to go bump in the night, the group's deepest fears are laid bare. Adapted from his Tony Award-winning play, the debut film from writer-director Stephen Karam explores the hidden dread of a family and the love that binds them together.

The King's Man (Cert TBC)

The third in Matthew Vaughn’s series of films about a group of gentleman spies is a prequel, exploring the establishment of the Kingsman Agency. In the early years of the 20th century, one man must race against time to stop history's worst tyrants and criminal masterminds from starting a war and wiping out millions of people.
