As the abundance of a new Spring starts to reveal itself, it’s already like summer here.
2022 culminated in our best-ever selling panto and raising over £10,000 for our Christmas fundraising campaign, Buck Up Backstage. The Roses is THRIVING! And it just keeps getting better. We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new website, rosestheatre.org. Alongside our brochure, it’s part of a brand-new look that shows off our wonderful venue and events and celebrates our mission: to fill your life with joy and connection. Please do take the time to explore.
This season features some of Britain’s biggest comedians, international dance troupes and a huge programme of events and activities you can get involved with, from singing to sword-making and Baby Ballet to bingo.

Our new RYC is now in full swing, and we’d love you to join in!
Our young performers work on character development, performance for stage and screen, choreography, singing and much more! The next term will feature sessions from industry experts to help them develop their confidence and discover new skills whilst preparing for our summer production of (drum roll please…) Matilda!

All sessions take place at The Roses and are payable half-termly; please note no sessions will run during May half-term.

The Roses’ Choir
Enjoy the uplifting experience of singing together. You don’t need to be an expert — this is all about having fun. Our choir get regular opportunities to perform throughout the year, both at The Roses and at external events to which they have been invited.

Join us for a friendly, fun and inclusive group singing session that helps to support lung health. This will be a supportive and nonjudgemental session where the singing serves as a way to help manage lung health using warm ups, breathing exercises, relaxation exercises and songs. You don’t need to have sung before and you can participate at your own pace. We’ll breathe together, sing together and laugh together too!

Tibetan Buddhist Monks from Tashi Lhunpo Monastery open a magical window on to a world of reincarnation and Buddhist mysticism which has inspired audiences throughout the world. From the contemplative, mesmerising chant of Buddhist texts to swirling costumed masked dances, the Monks evoke the atmosphere of sacred Tibet: an experience of an ancient culture accessible to all, with introductory explanations offering additional insight into this endangered world.

Midsummer Night’s Dream

Professor Nick Bottom, the world-famous Shakespeare scholar, is about to present his talk on A Midsummer Night’s Dream – but there is a technical problem. Professor Bottom’s laptop cannot contain the magical forces at play and the sprites in the software want to tell the story in their own words.
Nick makes an ass of himself, and we are taken on a dreamy adventure full of love, fairies, and ridiculousness in Norwich Puppet Theatre’s sideways take on Shakespeare’s classic play with beautiful puppets, original music, and lots of shadows.

Outfit Groove is a leading jazz quartet based in Gloucestershire who perform a range of Jazz, Blues, Swing, Bebop, Hard-Bop, Latin, Bossa-Nova, Funk, groove-based music and have recently included more original repertoire too. The band also takes a lot of pride in choosing a diverse range of music from reputed composers from Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Gershwin, Dizzy Gillespie, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Thelonius Monk, Woody Shaw, Horace Silver and many more of the Great American Songbook composers.

Fees & Charges
A postage charge of £2.00 per booking applies if you wish to have your tickets posted to you. You can avoid this charge by collecting your tickets from the Box Office or requesting e-tickets. A voluntary contribution will be requested with each transaction to help secure the future of The Roses.
Reservations & Refunds
Reservations: Payment is required for reserved tickets within 3 days of the reservation, or 3 days prior to the date of the event, whichever is the soonest. Any reserved tickets not paid for by this time will be released.
Exchanges: At our discretion, tickets can be exchanged for a different performance of the same event. An administration fee of £2 per ticket applies. We do not offer exchanges on tickets for different events.
Refunds: We do not offer refunds on any tickets unless the event is cancelled or postponed. If you are unable to attend a performance, and the performance is sold out, we may offer to resell your tickets. Members may be credited on performances that they are unable to attend provided we are notified prior to the event. Refund protection (ticket insurance) is available at point of purchase.
Terms & Conditions
Only food and drinks purchased on the premises can be consumed whilst at The Roses. We reserve the right to refuse admission to intoxicated or disorderly people. Age guidance stated for live shows (where applicable) is provided by the visiting companies. The Roses is unable to accept responsibility for accuracy.
