Katya Gorrie Trio

TUES 7 FEB 8PM

Producer of the Bristol Jazz & Blues Festival and Front woman for the ever popular band Moscow Drug Club, North American singer & performer Katya Gorrie returns to her musical roots of Jazz & Blues, celebrating the sultry music of Julie London, the blues of the great Peggy Lee and the wit of Blossom Dearie. The Trio is complete with beautifully arranged Guitar by the accomplished Andy Bowen, and the fantastically talented Will Harris on Double Bass.

Claude Bourbon

TUES 7 MAR 8PM

Claude Bourbon is known throughout Europe and America for amazing guitar performances that take blues, Spanish, and Middle Eastern stylings into uncharted territories.

Claude’s inimitable style incorporates all five digits on each hand dancing independently but in unison, plucking, picking and strumming at such speed and precision that his fingers often seem to melt into a blur.

Banter

TUES 4 APR 8PM

Banter are Nina Zella, Simon Care, Tim Walker and Mark Jolley; four fine musicians whose roots are firmly in the traditional English genre, but who enjoy stretching the limits – in what a lot of people refer to as ‘the quirky Banter twist”. Formed in 2015, they immediately realised their common love for traditional English song and dance and began to mess around with it. Described as “the world’s smallest big band”, Banter go from strength to strength.

Outfit Groove

Outfit Groove is a professional Gloucestershire based jazz quartet comprised of members Chris O’Riordan (Trumpet & Flugel Horn), Tommy Charles (Piano / Keyboards), Peter Martin (Double & Electric Bass) and Andy Youell (Drums). They primarily play Jazz, Blues, Swing, Bebop, HardBop, Latin, Bossa-Nova, Funk, groove-based music and have recently included more original repertoire too.

Wildwood Jack

Wildwood Jack are a totally unique acoustic guitar and ukulele duo from Kent who bring a heartwarming and adventurous spirit to their music and to audiences wherever they play. The quality of their musicianship together with songs that sparkle with the journeys of a life on the road will be sure to uplift you. They play contemporary folk music with a twist of bluegrass and world music played with outstanding fingerstyle guitar and ukulele.

Liz Simmons

TUES 1 AUG 8PM

Inspired by a childhood spent travelling with her musician parents, Liz found her own way into folk and roots music, founding the bands Annalivia and Low Lily with husband Flynn Cohen, as well as performing in a duo with Hannah Sanders. As she tours her 2021 album, Poets, Liz will be joined by Ohio native Flynn Cohen, a virtuosic guitarist and mandolinist who spent three years at the Dartington College of Arts in Devon.

Lindsay Martin & The Nouvelle House Band

TUES 5 SEP 8PM

Lindsay Martin and the Nouvelle House Band band perform songs from The Great American Songbook, alongside fresh takes on Cool Jazz, Latin and mid-century repertoire. Their set will include songs inspired by Chet Baker, Joao Gilberto, Burt Bacharach, Sarah Vaughan and Blossom Dearie.

Simon Kempston

TUES 3 OCT 8PM

Scottish singer-songwriter and leading acoustic fingerstyle guitarist Simon Kempston has toured the world performing his highly original, contemporary acoustic folk/blues songs and music, and is a unique talent. Simon’s live performances are intense and impassioned, the subject matter chiefly Scottish, yet with universal appeal. In this special concert he returns to Tewkesbury in support of his brand new, critically acclaimed album ‘You Can’t Win Every Time’.

Swing From Paris

TUES 7 NOV 8PM

Often described as ‘the finest gypsy jazz in the Cotswolds’, Swing from Paris are a UK quartet of violin, guitars and double bass. Inspired by the great swing bands of the 1930s and 40s, they present their own versions of music by Gershwin, Piazzolla, John Lewis, Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. They’ve been seen on the BBC’s Hairy Bikers, and have appeared at major jazz festivals including Cheltenham, Brecon and the Django Reinhardt Festival at Samois sur Seine.
