Every year, I am humbled to accept gifts on behalf of the School’s Annual Fund and to hear stories of how Roeper has changed lives.

I am delighted to acknowledge all of the donors listed within this Annual Report, many of whom have been steadfast supporters of the school for five or more consecutive years (names listed in bold), and most especially those who have been contributing to the school for decades. We are incredibly grateful to all of our longtime supporters and equally thankful for the many new donors whose gifts are vital to the daily workings of The Roeper School.

Each gift to the school is appreciated, yet I often find myself pondering the gifts that come from our youngest alumni and recent graduates. They are usually modest, and I imagine these young college students deciding between a slice of pizza, a Starbucks coffee, or a donation to Roeper. The fact that Roeper is on their minds and in their hearts when so many other things are competing for their attention feels like a great honor. It also shows me that they are already reflecting on the impact of their Roeper education.

Not only are young alumni giving, but current Roeper students are too! Students rallied in support of last year’s Annual Fund by organizing a student participation drive within Middle and Upper School homerooms that resulted in 80% participation. The effort was led by our student Board Representatives who presented the idea to their fellow students, tracked participation, and coordinated the collection.

The success of the Roeper Annual Fund depends on the support of everyone in our extended community and fuels our ability to maintain extraordinarily low student-teacher ratios, retain talented teachers, provide enriching programs, and keep tuition at a level that allows for a diverse student body and much more. Most importantly, the Roeper Annual Fund makes it possible for students to receive exceptional opportunities that allow them to flourish as individuals.
