Editor’s Note Hey Menzies, Semester 1 is coming to a close and exams are in full swing here at RMC. RMCs campus may seem quieter than usual as people spend most of their time in study mode, but there have still been a lot of fun events happening here to look back on. Before everyone returns home, Exec’s end of sem event will be happening at Strike this Friday, so show up and have a good time. After a thrilling social media countdown, Exec has confirmed that harbour cruise will be happening during 2.0 week at the beginning of next semester. So get pumped and try not to fall overboard. The month of June is Pride month, where people all over the world honour the history of the queer community, remembering those who have been lost, and celebrating queer people across the world today. Congratulations to everyone whose finished their studies for Semester 1 of 2022. We congratulate you on your work and success this year, whether it is your first or your last. To everyone doing exams, we wish you the best of luck, you’ve got this!

CROSSROADS John’s Farewell Afternoon Tea Tuesday nights at RMC John has been a mainstay on college staff for over 23 years. This enormous effort has not gone unnoticed and we wish to thank him for all his hard work and dedication. Whilst he will be still be around on a casual basis, residents and the maintenance team will miss seeing him regularly.

CROSSROADS Block Wars at RMC Tuesday nights Food and fashion was the theme for the second installment of Block Wars for this year. Cake eating, taste guessing, and wedding-dress-making contest were all involved as the blocks competed in the ongoing competition. B Block remains the champions so if you want to see them fall, come with your friends to the next installment of RMC block wars!

CROSSROADS Biggest Morning Tea Tuesday nights at RMC The biggest morning tea is an annual fundraiser held not only at RMC, but all across Australia. RMCs morning tea was held by SVF and also involved the annual block vs block bake off. After a great morning with some great food, SVF raised several hundred dollars for the cancer council.

CROSSROADS Truth and Justice Tuesday nightsDinner at RMC National Sorry Day is Thursday 26th May which is the day before National Reconciliation Week which is from 27th May to 3rd June each year. It is an opportunity to recognise the First Nations people of Australia and this year the theme is “Be Brave. Make Change” which is a challenge to all Australians to Be Brave and tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation, so we can Make Change for the benefit of all Australians.

CROSSROADS Pride in the Courtyard Tuesday nights at RMC Organised by the D&E committee members, RMC celebrated pride month by filling the courtyard with colour. Residents took a much needed study break to draw out a bunch of different pride flags, all while learning the different meanings of the flags and the identities they represent.

CROSSROADS The Encore is Out! Tuesday nights at RMC The Encore is a magazine that comes out at the end of semester 1 each year and covers all of the events of arts week. The Encore will feature all of the photos from the different Arts Week events, as well as interviews and other content made by various college residents. The Encore is out now, so grab your copy in the foyer.

CROSSROADS Crocheting with Elisa Tuesday nights at RMC Craft club started off with a bang with our wonderful office lady Elisa teaching us all how to finger crochet scarves. We all had a wonderful evening and can’t wait for the next craft club meet-up.
