In 2019 the spirit of doing is alive and well. So many people around us have moved an idea f rom the head into actuality. Big or small, the word start is not characterised by neither of the two. This past Sunday saw us launch the first instalment of “Residency and Chill”, a music and lifestyle hang out spot.
If you are reading and wondering, well what is the fuss about this whole thing? The significance is to provide an experience for like-minded taste makers to socialise and kick back before the hustle continues Monday morning. What was interesting was most people and companies we consulted they all shared the same opinion about the concept. ‘it will not work; Port Shepstone is a small town’ or ‘the economy is low for a Sunday event. All these reasons carried no weight. No one has done a study about how low the economy is for Sunday events. Small town or not Port Shepstone is a tourist destination that alone should tell you that people should compute about popular culture at a certain level.
We do not see the event as a party since to us, it is not emotionally charged like that. Residency and Chill is about enjoying your surroundings at Zuri Beach Club, whilst enjoying a curated music experience by the Alpha and Omega.

Starting was important and start we did! For us it is simple, in our eyes Residency & Chill is already a fully-fledged butterfly.
Residency & Chill is about celebrating life and being alive. With that being said we look forward to growing the culture of dining and enjoying a good time with f riends. Thank you to all our f riends who pulled through and blessed us with their energy, you guys are Residency people!
But dealing with sceptics we are not oblivious to the fact that to some people we might still be looking like a cocoon, a butterfly yet to be and you know what, that is okay.
Last but not least, to the owners and staff of Zuri Beach Club, thank you for your trust, support and hospitality.
The missions is to spread love and positivity through the platform we have and music is a powerful tool to relay that message. It is natural not to understand what is seemingly new.
