Access to gym space during scheduled open gym times and anytime the gym is not in use for other programming. Scan in at the fitness desk when no attendant is present.

Equipment Orientation

A free introduction to cardio, strength and selectorized equipment is available to all-inclusive members. Learn how to operate your favorite machines and receive guidance on proper form and technique. Members ages 12-13 must complete an equipment orientation before utilizing the fitness center. Visit the floor specialist at the fitness desk.

Kids Zone

Fitness & Nutrition Assessment

Ages 6 months-11 years. Supervised care for your children while you work out. Kids Zone features toys, computers and staff trained in CPR/AED and First Aid. Reservations are required and maximum stay is 2 hours. Reservations can be booked at kidszone@csparks.org or call 630-784-6115.

Premium Locker Rooms

Relax in our saunas after a tough workout only accessible to all-inclusive members. Our premium locker rooms also include keyless lockers (no need to bring a padlock) and towel service.

Meet with our registered dietician and/or Nutritionist for a half an hour free consultation to discuss your health history and personal goals. Get tips based on a consultation and discuss a tailored program to fit your individual needs. The personal training assessment includes a series of standard tests to assess your current fitness levels. Sign up at fitness desk or make an appointment by calling 630-784-6101.

If you are training for a specific event or fitness goal, get a customized training plan with one of our certified Personal Trainers. Packages are available in blocks of eight 1-hour sessions. Forms are available online, at your school’s ActivKids site, or at the Fountain View or Simkus Recreation Centers. Registration must be at least 24 business hours prior to your child’s start date. The Carol Stream Park District continually strives to reduce such risks and insists that all participants follow safety rules and instructions that are designed to protect the participants’ safety. However, participants registering for Forever Young trips, outings and activities must recognize that there is an inherent risk of injury arising out of this activity. Observation During parent/child classes and parent observation week, make alternate arrangements for siblings. Siblings under the age of 6 may not attend evening class observation. Gymnastics - Ages 6+ Become a stronger and more confident gymnast. Develop a foundation for mastering tumbling, vault, beam, and bars. Skills taught are based on USAG levels. Youth Leagues Parent Code of Conduct By registering your child you agree to comply with the Parent Code of Conduct which can be accessed on the home web page of each youth sports league and is discussed by the coach at the preseason parent meeting. Meet and Greet The meet and greet is a set time where players, parents, and coaches meet each other and hand out any necessary information, and in some cases will receive their uniforms. Player Evaluation Players get rated based on each skill set for that particular sport. All players are welcome but new players and players who are playing up a level are required to attend. Playing up Playing up is not allowed for instructional soccer or tee ball. For all other leagues playing up is allowed by one age or grade level but the following process must be adhered to: The player must register at his or her age or grade. A request to play up must be made to the program supervisor. The player must attend the evaluation day for the sport and must attend at the time designated for the requested league/level (i.e. if a player should be playing in the Mustang league but wants to play in the Bronco league, player must attend the Bronco player evaluation). Placed on a Specific Team No, due to the nature of the program, we cannot accept any other coach, player, or carpool requests. However, one mutual friendship request will be honored for players in an instructional league, Pinto (8U) baseball, or U8 soccer. Registration - tee ball Registration is by grade level. Players are to be registered for the grade the player will be in for 2018/2019 school year. Preschoolers must be 4 years old by program start date. Participants can participate in Instructional Tee Ball and Instructional Soccer without conflict. New Swimmers Select a swim class level based on your child’s age and previous lesson history or attend a skill test day. Returning swimmers — select a swim class level based on your child’s previous swim lesson report card. Custom and Private Lessons These lessons are specially scheduled for you. Should you fail to show up for a lesson without notifying the instructor at least 24 business hours in advance, you forfeit the lesson. Cancelling a lesson for any reason requires 24 business hours. One make-up class is allowed if above communication is properly followed. Lessons not finished by the end of the session expire. Combined Classes Class levels may be combined if deemed appropriate. Classes fill quickly; transferring from one level to another is not always possible. If you have questions, please call our Coordinator at 630-784-6187. Parent Attendance Stay for the entire swimmer’s class, in case of emergency where consent is required. Report Cards Swimmers will receive a report card at the end of the session indicating which level to register for in the next session. First Day First day arrive 15 minutes early for check-in. Bring — towel, swimsuit already on child; non-potty trained participants must wear a swim diaper with tightly fitting plastic pants under swimsuit; report card from previous session. Do not bring — swimming aids; lifejackets, water wings, flippers, or snorkel masks that cover the nose. Snacks and treats are recommended to be eaten after lessons. Refunds To receive a full refund withdrawals and transfers must be completed 24 business hours prior to the first day of lessons. Refunds and make-ups will not be given for classes missed. Dolphins Swim Team

A volunteer-based program for youth who want to join the world of competitive swimming. Dolphins compete in the DuPage Swim & Dive Conference along with 12 other park district teams. Competition is form mid-May through July. Swim meets are on Wednesday nights and Saturday Mornings. All Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards without stopping and without assistance to join swim team. Volunteer Fee - $50 per family - 14250 Volunteer deposit will be refunded after the end of the season if all volunteer credits are met.

Waiting Lists

Once the maximum enrollment is met for a class, a waiting list will be formed. If space becomes available or additional classes are created, you will be contacted. Payment is due when being waitlisted. Credits will be issued after the first class for those who are not able to be registered.

Inclusion Services

Inclusion Services are designed to provide the least restrictive environment while providing the maximum opportunity to participate in regular park district programs. There is no charge for WDSRA’s support. To register for services, simply indicate that special accommodations are needed on the park district registration form. Two-week advance notice is requested for inclusion support.

We offer financial assistance/scholarships for qualified Carol Stream Park District residents. Confidential applications available at Fountain View Fitness Center and Simkus Recreation Center.

Program Capacity

Smoking Policy

Most classes require a set minimum number of participants. Register at least a week prior to the start date to avoid cancellation. All programs have minimum and maximum enrollments. If the minimum enrollment is not met one week prior to the program date, the Park District may have to cancel, postpone or consolidate the program with another program. If the program is cancelled, full credits will be issued.

The District’s philosophy is to promote health and a clean air environment. The use of any and all tobacco products is prohibited in all park district buildings and facilities and at all parks and trails. Carol Stream Park District joins other park districts in Illinois with a tobacco-free policy. To read the full policy, go to csparks.org.

Refund and Withdrawal Policy

It is the District’s intent to provide quality recreation programs and services. The District recognizes however, that there may be occasions when the event/service doesn’t match a customer’s needs, or when the customer is unable to participate in an activity. For those occasions, the following withdrawal policy will apply. (a) All requests for refunds will be assessed a ‘Service Fee’ of 10% of the original, total registration fee - $5 minimum / $50 maximum, or 10% of the remaining credit balance - $5 minimum/$50 maximum. (b) No refunds under $5; credit will be placed on account. (c) No refunds after 2nd meeting of class/program. (d) For monthly/quarterly payments, or memberships, there is no refund of the current period; a cancellation of the future months/period charges will be allowed. (e) Forever Young Programs – Service Fee will apply after the payment deadline, and refunds may be issued as long as Supervisor approval is given. (f) No refunds after event. (g) No refund of annual memberships including but not limited to Walking Track, Lap Swim, Coral Cove Water Park or Bark Park. Exceptions in which a Withdrawal Service Fee will not be assessed: • Medical note exception is valid any time prior to the start of the last class and will not be subject to a ‘Service Fee’; a prorated refund or credit will be issued. This does not apply to events/trips, and does not include costumes, uniforms, meals, or tickets. • Transferring to another program in lieu of receiving a refund. If the class has begun, the credit available to transfer towards another program will be calculated on the prorated balance from the original registration. • Leaving on Account in lieu of receiving a refund. Funds should be used within a 6 month period. Any credit that is returned will be less the applicable ‘Service Fee’. No Refunds are offered: • If participant did not attend all or any portion of the class/program (forgot about class, moved and did not withdraw); • For Summer Camp, ActivKids, or Preschool because participant’s vacation, illness, for any other absence; • For returned or unused (new or used) uniforms or costumes; • For Enrollment, Administration, Registration, or Annual Fees; nor for Tickets; • For Punch Passes (that have no expiration date) includes Pool, Open Gymnastics, Open Baton • For “Private” Recreational Packages: Personal Fitness Packages, Customized Private Swim Lesson Packages, Private Voice, Private Gymnastics Lessons • For trips – no refund unless customer provides a replacement. If replacement is found, Service Fee will still be assessed to the original participant, • For Adult Athletic Leagues – if a team chooses to drop out • For events/activities under $5 – money can be left on account.

Meet Your Park Board of Commissioners The Carol Stream Park District Board of Commissioners consists of seven individuals who are elected by residents to represent the community’s best interests. The charge of the Board is to set policies that guide the Park District. Board members serve a four-year term and receive no compensation for the time they give. They come from a variety of backgrounds and share one important trait ― a commitment to serving the park and recreational needs of our community.

Board Meetings

Regularly scheduled meetings of the Board are held on the second and/or the fourth Monday of each month according to a schedule adopted by the Board yearly. Check csparks.org for our current meeting schedule. Regular Board Meetings begin at 7pm at Fountain View Recreation Center, 910 N Gary Ave, Carol Stream.
