WITH DECADES OF GLOBAL EXPERIENCE, REDPATH HAS SUCCESSFULLY DELIVERED COMPLEX ORE HANDLING AND CONVEYANCE SYSTEMS, ALONG WITH SPECIALIZED INFRASTRUCTURE, ACROSS A WIDE RANGE OF PROJECTS.

Redpath has been involved in the PT Freeport Indonesia project since 1982, providing a range of services, including construction of lintel sets (draw points), grizzlies, rock breakers and other block cave mine installations. Over 700 kilometers of development have been completed, including tunnels primarily designed for mine access, conveyor and ventilation systems, and large-scale excavations for underground facilities.
Redpath has spent over two decades contributing to this major underground block cave project, delivered through our joint venture with DAYAN Contract Mining (DCM). We are executing a range of underground development services on site, including lateral development, raise boring, life of mine construction, and steel set and roadway construction. Sinking shafts 1, 2 and 5 remain Redpath’s most prolific shaft projects. Shaft 2 broke Redpath’s record of largest shaft by volume, with 124,248 m3 of rock removed.
Innu Inuit Redpath (IIR), a collaboration between Innu Development Partnership, Nunatsiavut Group of Companies and Redpath, developed two new mines at Voisey’s Bay — Reid Brook and Eastern Deeps. The project involved four portals, 13 kilometers of ramps and drifts, bulk material handling system (BMH) at each mine, and various permanent underground infrastructure installations. IIR continues to provide support at the mine.
Redpath’s contracting services on this project includes construction of shaft station doors, sumps, magazine, refuge station, materials storage, rock breakers, conveyor system and electrical substations.
The comprehensive scope of work includes construction of the underground facilities such as muck bays, sumps, pump stations, decline connectors, ventilation fan stations, and underground workshops.
