A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR:

Seussical Jr. is not just a musical, it’s a transformative journey. Based on the timeless children’s stories of Dr. Seuss, this musical comedy by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty weaves together the narratives of Horton Hears a Who!, Gertrude McFuzz, and Horton Hatches the Egg. Each character embarks on a personal jouwrney, learning to change their perspectives about many things. It’s a lesson we can all learn from.

Seussical, the musical, made its debut on Broadway in 2000. It is an homage to this great man who was a huge part of all of our childhoods. Many of us learned how to read with his books! Sit back and take a stroll down memory lane.

It has been my privilege to work with The Red Oaks Middle School students to tell this story about an unlikely hero. Like Horton and Gertrude, we have persevered; through an earthquake and a solar eclipse, we learned that when life gives us challenges, we meet them head-on! And kids, always remember to “Think and wonder and dream, far and wide as you dare!’
