Season Reflections

As we head into summer, I would like to thank you, the members of The Quarry, for a great season. I have had the pleasure of meeting many of you and hope you were able to enjoy the club as an oasis in the midst of the pandemic. The challenges of this past year were monumental, but I am very proud to say that both the staff and membership stepped up and made the most out of an undeniably difficult situation. Thank you to all of you for your patience and understanding and let’s look forward to a much a brighter season next fall.

In reflection, the highlights of the year for me begin with The Quarry being named to America’s 100 Greatest Courses by Golf Digest for the 12th time. This a true testament of the work Golf Course Superintendent Mark Chalupnik and his staff do to keep our playing conditions the best in America. It is also a tremendous affirmation to all of you who do your part and take so much pride in keeping the course in immaculate shape day in and day out. Another highlight for me is the level of participation we experienced in our club events. Even with COVID restrictions, there were full fields in our tournaments and the staff, and I hope you enjoyed the fun and excitement as much as we did.

The highlights continue with how our staff adapted to the ever-changing requirements of providing a safe environment for the membership. The Culinary Team did an outstanding job of moving from no dining to take
