A native species garden and gathering space at Bobcaygeon’s Beach Park was erected to publicly acknowledge and honour the Indigenous relationships and histories of these lands and waters.

We respectfully acknowledge that Bobcaygeon is located on Michi Saagiig (what is commonly referred to as Mississauga First Nations), Treaty 20 territory. Long before European and other settlers came to this area, these lands and waters were, and are today, the traditional territory of the Michi Saagiig and Chippewa Nations, collectively known as the Williams Treaties First Nations. This includes the Curve Lake, Hiawatha, Alderville, Scugog Island, Rama, Beausoleil, and Georgina Island First Nations.

The Kawartha Lakes Arts & Heritage Trail allows you to immerse yourself in cultural encounters and learning experiences that make any visit unforgettable. The trail consists of natural heritage, cultural heritage, culinary and the arts.

Boyd Heritage Museum will give you insight into the village’s lumbering empire roots, with exhibits of artifacts and settlers’ clothing as well as photos depicting the origins of the area.

Kawartha Settlers’ Village is a gem of living history. You’ll experience what life was like for pioneers, with more than 20 historical buildings to stir your imagination.

Boaters must arrive to the designated blue line at least 30 minutes before closing time. At swing bridges, the last bridge swing will be 10 minutes after last lockage time.

NOTE: Lockstations are unstaffed after hours. Authorized visitors are asked to exercise caution. Unpermitted access to lockstations is prohibited between 10pm and 6am. For emergencies after hours, please call 911 for police, fire, ambulance. Please check with Parks Canada at 1-888-773-8888 to confirm dates and times.

DID YOU KNOW...

The Trent-Severn Waterway is more than 386 kilometres long, connecting Lake Ontario with Lake Huron.

There are 45 locks along the Trent-Severn Waterway.

In 1832, the first lock, Lock 32 in Bobcaygeon, was built.

In 2024, there were 6,659 vessels that travelled through Lock 32.

The Bobcaygeon War Memorial is located adjacent to Lock 32. This brick building is dedicated to the fallen of the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. Inside the gated door is a Roll of Honour of the fallen.

There are 166 km of groomed routes for snowmobiling in the Kawartha Lakes, through breathtaking trails of snow-laden pines and maples.

Snowshoeing is a popular winter sport and there are more than 600 km of trails spread across Kawartha Lakes.

It takes 30-50 gallons of maple sap to make 1 gallon of maple syrup! Visit one of our local maple syrup producers to see how it’s done!

FrostFest is an annual event in Bobcaygeon on Family Day Weekend, celebrating all that is winter!

Bobcaygeon Wilderness Park provides more than eight acres of safe, accessible trails through a beautiful mature forest.

Gamiing Nature Centre, just outside Bobcaygeon, celebrates bio-diversity and offers approximately 7km of recreational trails of various difficulties.

Our lakes and rivers are home to all species of fish, including perch, walleye, muskie, pan fish and, best of all, large- and smallmouth bass.

The Bikeshare Program in Bobcaygeon offers 10 bikes for rent in a convenient location by Lock 32.

Our milk and ice cream are made “our” traditional way, the same way my grandparents Jack and Ila made them. Our dairy products are made on-site with fresh milk, fresh cream and minimal processing. We get daily deliveries of fresh milk and cream from local farms and turn it into packaged products within about a day of leaving the farm.
