ABOUT FENELON FALLS

Fenelon Falls is an ideal destination for families to explore and enjoy.

Nestled on the picturesque shores of Cameron Lake, this charming village is a haven for visitors seeking a delightful experience. As one of Canada’s Trail Town Communities, it is part of a special program that highlights the historic Trent-Severn Waterway as a unique trail for exploration. Visitors can indulge in a variety of outdoor activities, explore pristine lakes and rivers, enjoy shopping and dining, and immerse themselves in arts, culture, and heritage.

Families, day-trippers, and seasonal visitors alike find the village to be a perfect destination. The Waterfront area boasts a beach park, splash pad, playground, beach volleyball courts, butterfly benches, the Victoria County Rail Trail, Bur Oak Grove, Allen Wood Play Space, and One Room School. Just a stone’s throw away from downtown Fenelon Falls, Lock 34 sits on a charming island.

The early settlers likened Fenelon Falls to a miniature version of Niagara Falls, with its impressive seven-metre drop visible from the east side of the Colborne Street Bridge. In the past, a natural stone bridge allowed people to cross the river behind the cascading water. The falls have been a source of power for the community, driving saw and grist mills in the past and now generating electric power.

Lock 34 on the Trent Severn Waterway is conveniently situated near Fenelon Falls' downtown area and provides boaters with excellent docking facilities equipped with hydro and water connections.

Visitors can easily access nearby restaurants, shops, and services from the dock. As boats pass through the Lock, they can catch a glimpse of the restored Fenelon Theatre marquee at the intersection of Water and Oak Streets.

Boaters must arrive to the designated blue line at least 30 minutes before closing time. At swing bridges, the last bridge swing will be 10 minutes after last lockage time.

NOTE: Lockstations are unstaffed after hours. Authorized visitors are asked to exercise caution. Unpermitted access to lockstations is prohibited between 10pm and 6am. For emergencies after hours, please call 911 for police, fire, ambulance. Please check with Parks Canada at 1-888-773-8888 to confirm dates and times.

The Oak Street Heritage District is focused around the former Maryboro estate, which holds historical significance in the founding of Fenelon Falls and the development of the Trent-Severn Waterway.

The Maryboro Lodge, acting as Fenelon's Community Cultural Centre, offers interactive activities that bring history to life. Admission is by donation, and more information can be found on their website, maryboro.ca.

Garnet Graham Park boasts a sandy beach, picnic areas, a new splash pad, beach volleyball, and a large playground. Fenelon Falls serves as a central stop on the Victoria Rail Trail, a 100km recreational route that offers a variety of outdoor activities such as walking, running, cycling, ATV riding, and horseback riding.

Colborne Street. Our nurse practitioners will be available to help. This augments the after-hours care already provided in Bobcaygeon, Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

The walk-in clinic is completely supported by community contributions (no government funding). Donations are always welcome. Please note that the walk-in clinic is for acute care only. If you have an ongoing health issue, you should consult with your family health care practitioner.

Emergency Services are available at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay.
