As we close the chapter on Prairie’s 60th year, we do so with immense appreciation and profound pride. This year was defined by dedication to our mission, collective strength, and remarkable generosity—led by you, our community.
Thanks to your leadership and support, the 2024–25 Prairie Fund reached an extraordinary and historic total of $1,531,195 —the most ever raised in a single year at Prairie. This achievement is not simply about numbers; it is a reflection of belief. Belief in the value of a Prairie education, in our mission, and in the future we are building together. Equally inspiring was the powerful message sent by our faculty and staff, who led by example with 100% participation in the Prairie Fund. Their commitment sets the tone for everything we do, showing our students what it means to show up, invest in what matters, and lead with heart.
Throughout our 60th year, we saw the Hawk spirit on full display—from joyful moments in our classrooms and on our stages to regional wins, new athletic records, and humble service to the community. Every success was made possible because of the philanthropic foundation you help provide.

When Prairie welcomed its first students in 1965, it was more than campus doors opening – it was the realization of a dream, a vision that began with Gene Johnson and has been carried forward by every student and family since.

BUILDING COMMUNITY
• All 7th and 8th grade students collaborated with peers at Julian Thomas Elementary, a dual-language school where learning takes place in both Spanish and English. Together, they read, wrote, and engaged in a variety of hands-on projects.
• Prairie’s 4th Grade students collaborated with key faculty members to update the courtyard adjacent to the glass studio, integrating math (budgeting), science and technology (landscape design) and textile work (sewing pillows).
GRIT & DETERMINATION
• Prairie won the most regional titles with 6 in both the county and the conference.
• Boys and Girls Basketball both won sectionals and made it to the state tournament.
• Girls Soccer won their conference and took home a regional title. They finished the year ranked in the top 5 in Division 3, playing up a division since last season.

FINDING SOLUTIONS
• The S.T.E.M. Shuttle out of Wausau, WI, visited Prairie’s 6th and 7th grade students, providing hands-on activities connected to real-life problems engineers solve each day.
• Prairie’s Science Olympiad team had an impressive season, earning 3rd place at the State competition with podium finishes in 12 of the 28 events. Over the course of six competitions—including four Invitationals, Regionals, and State—the team placed 6th or higher in five meets and earned individual medals at every single event.
• Seven 5th Grade students participated in the International Math Challenge. Fletcher Thoreson ‘32 was invited to participate in the final round of the challenge in Thailand.

OPERATION EXPLORATION
