A WORD FROM OUR ARTISTIC DIRECTOR The energy is palpable as we step into our 97th season! We are quite literally building toward our future as the reimagining of Payne Park Auditorium begins! Later this season, we look forward to opening the doors to our new home. This long-awaited moment will allow us to grow and continue serving our community, meeting our mission at its most basic level and beyond. During these moments of change, it has required us to be thoughtful and conscious about the choices we make today. As we invest in Payne Park we are also making sure we step into that new home strong, responsible, and ready for what comes next… But being responsible does not mean losing The Players flair that makes our work feel like us. You will still see vibrant costumes brought to life by Jill and our incredible costume crew, Brian’s imaginative set designs carried out by Scott and Logan. You will still walk through the doors and be welcomed by a box office staff who probably already knows your name and the section you like to sit in, and you will see a Board of Trustees who are not simply sitting around a table, but are present and integrated into nearly every aspect of what we are building together. That is The Sarasota Players. It is the people behind the work just as much as the work itself. We may have made some different choices, but different does not mean bad. It means being intentional about where we put our resources while continuing to create the kind of theatre our audiences have come to expect from The Players: bold, colorful, creative, with a tremendous amount of heart. A few things I hope for this season… I hope you see a performer you have never seen before, discover a story you did not expect to love, or leave the theatre still talking about what you just experienced (and tell your friends about it). I hope our stage reflects the many people who call Sarasota home and continues to create opportunities for artists and audiences of all different ages, backgrounds, and experiences to find something here that speaks to them. The heart of The Players remains exactly where it has always been, with our people. So as you experience our 97th season, I hope you see it for what it is: an intentional step forward. We are continuing to create something meaningful that will be around for years to come, especially as we continue on this path to 100 years. Later this season, the lights will come up at Payne Park, and we will welcome audiences to their seats (we promise they will be more comfortable). Our performers will take the stage, and we will continue to build the future while honoring our past so that Sarasota has a place to create forever. Thank you for continuing to show up, for trusting us through the changes, and for believing in what this theatre can be. We are building something special, and I am incredibly grateful that we get to build it together!

DIRECTOR’S NOTE Why another Dracula? After over 200 film adaptations, video game appearances, merchandise tie-ins, theme park rides. costumes, theatre and ballet productions, what more could be said? It is common to re-contextualize Dracula as a tragic romantic hero. But Stoker’s creation is anything but. His victims are not romantic conquests but livestock. His methods are swift, brutal, and cruel. Countless artists have attempted to imbue Dracula with some semblance of humanity, for who on earth could be so inhumane? Today, Wall Street plays chicken with the American Economy. The wealthy get wealthier while employee pay stagnates. Then there are the select few whose unchecked power enables them to commit crimes against humanity that are just now coming to light. Nobody said living through history was going to be fun. Unfortunately, evil is alive and well. It knows no gender nor age. But the same can be said about goodness. And sometimes goodness needs to fight dirty to swing the pendulum back. Ren Pearson Director

Ren Pearson (Director) often works both sides of the stage, most recently seen as Judge Thomas Danforth in The Crucible. He is also audio director and tech advisor for Theatre Odyssey, as well as founder and Artistic Director for Sarasota’s premier radio theatre company, Gothic Library Productions. He is pleased to be directing for The Sarasota Players, and would like to thank his cast and crew for their hard work and commitment, his partner Sarah for her patience and love, and his two cats Dinah and Edgar.

DRACULA Based on the novel by Bram Stoker | Adapted by Ren Pearson

BIOS Amanda Heisey (Dracula) has always been a vampire fan. As a child, she used to sleep with her neck exposed so one would come and bite her. Favorite roles include: Sally Bowles - Cabaret (Sarasota Players), Velma Kelley - Chicago, Yitzhak - Hedwig... (Dingbat) Magenta - The Rocky Horror Show (Venice) and Extraordinary Girl - American Idiot (Sarasota Players). Her burlesque persona Karma Kandlewick has allowed her to perform across the state and country, she is co-producer of Hard Heart Burlesque. “All my love to Brian (and our furry children).” Martin Nicholas (Professor Abraham Van Helsing) The last time Martin played Van Helsing, at Manatee Players, he had to put stuff in his hair and beard and walk a different way in order to convince audiences that he was much older then his 25 years. Not necessary now! His previous Sarasota Players appearances are in The Crucible, Twelfth Night, and Lateral Moves. He also plays Professor Cardiff in the award-winning horror film Jack-O 2, currently playing film festivals. Ella Aleksandrowski (Lucy Westenra) is thrilled to be back at The Players for another fang-tastic production! She has recently appeared at The Players as Mercy Lewis (The Crucible) and this year’s New Play Festival. She will turn 21 during Dracula’s run, so perhaps she’ll buy you a nice Shirley Temple (who do you think I am?!) as an apology for scaring your socks off! Ella thanks her mother, Jac, the cast and crew of Dracula, and above all, Ren, for believing in her to play Lucy, a character she’s always loved. instagram: @sandskiis Valerie Rozon (Mina Murray) is ecstatic to be a part of Dracula among this talented cast. She has worked backstage as an assistant stage Manager (Little Women, Into the Woods, and Cabaret), stage manager / rehearsal stage manager (Rent and Lightning Thief), and costume designer (Rent and Lightning Thief). Her credits include Romeo and Juliet (ensemble) at Dingbat Theatre Project and Radical Honesty (Female U/S), and American Idiot (ensemble) at The Sarasota Players. Tom Horton (Jonathan Harker) is a Sarasota-based stage actor originally from England. Some of his notable previous roles include, MacBeth in MacBeth, Biff in Death of a Salesman, Arthur Kipps in The Woman In Black, Tobey Maguire in I’m Gonna Marry You Tobey Maguire, and Victor Frankenstein in Frankenstein.

Kelly Junior Lee (R.M. Renfeild) is a Broadway baby! Some of his more notable credits include Papa Bear in the Off-Broadway/U.S. tour of The Berenstain Bears LIVE! in Family Matters, the Musical, and the original Phantom in Phantom of the Improv (OffBroadway). Last year, his original parody musical, Vaudeville’s Dead, had its Off-Broadway concert premiere. Kelly is also a graduate of the Circle in the Square Theatre School. Lucy Manuel (Dr. Jacqueline Seward) is thrilled to return to the stage as Dr. Seward in Dracula. She grew up performing in Sarasota with the Sarasota Youth Opera and Players Theatre and earned her BFA in Musical Theatre from AMDA in Los Angeles. She has been in and out of theatre since graduating and is excited to see this adaptation, which she first read with The Gothic Library three years ago, come to life on stage. She’s especially excited to see Ren’s hard work and vision realized. She is also a proud mother of two. Vincent Pearson (Quincy P. Morris) This is Vincent’s second show at The Players. His past roles include John Proctor-The Crucible, Quincey/Renfield-Dracula, and The Monster- Frankenstein. “I’m So happy to be a part of this project from Gothic Library to the Stage! I’m so proud of Ren and the cast and crew’s hard work! I dedicate my performance to my friends, family, fellow veterans, my girlfriend, and my cat, Moss.” Louis Valery (Coachmen/Bride/ U/S Jonathan/Quincey) is thrilled to perform for The Players in their Black Box for the first time! After taking part in Sleepy Hollow for the past two years, he’s excited to help put on a more serious and darker Halloween show. Louis is grateful to work alongside this hardworking cast and crew who he’s learned so much from. “Enjoy the show!” Olivia Baylou (Bride/ U/S Lucy)

Rachel Weaver (Landlady/Bride/ U/S Mina/Seward) is, first and foremost, a passionate vampire enthusiast. Secondarily, she is a passionate theatre-maker who is thrilled to be making her Sarasota Players debut. A graduate of Florida State University’s School of Theatre, her past acting credits include Helga in Cabaret (Theatre TCC), Iris/Midas’s Daughter in Metamorphoses (Venice Theatre), and Romeo in Romeo and Juliet. She would like to thank her parents, Johnny, and her cats for their love and support.

Andrew Contillo (Sentinel/Swing) is excited to share the culmination of the hard work of this incredibly talented cast. His second time performing with The Players, some of Andrew’s favorite roles include, The Man in RENT (Sarasota Players, 2025), Hal in Proof (Illinois State University FreeStage, 2016), Don Hernando in The Heresy of Love (Illinois State University MainStage and Chamizol National Festival, 2017) and Nick in Curls (Film, Middle Center Productions, 2019). ‘Enjoy your visit to beautiful Transylvania!” Carter “Cat” Savitts (Gravedigger, Bride, U/S Dracula) is super Bram Stoked to sink their fangs into another Sarasota Players production. Their last ghoulish foray in the moonlight was as Captain Kidd's ghost in The Players 2025 production of Sleepy Hollow. Their favorite vampire is whats yours?! “Love to my family, friends, and spider son.” AJ Trinci (Stage Manager) This is AJ's first time stage managing a production at The Players, and they would like to thank the production staff for their encouragement and guidance, and for believing in the production. They would also like to thank Ren, Morgan, and the whole cast for coming together to make something so unique and rewarding. "But we are strong, each in our purpose, and we are all more strong together."- Bram Stoker, Dracula Morgan Cox (Fight Choreographer/Intimacy Coordinator) is a multi hyphen theatre artist who is excited to help bring Dracula to life using her experience as a combatant from multiple years with the Sarasota Medieval Fair, as well as certifications from Society of American Fight Directors. She is also excited to include intimacy in her approach to creating good theater.
