Ethos & Values

The Perse School values of endeavour, intellectual curiosity and scholarship, breadth and balance and valuing one another and our environment are all central to what it is to be a member of Perse Outdoor Pursuits. In training or on expedition these values are carried out and tested. The ethos of the group places the student at the very centre with teamwork and leadership the reason behind our ongoing success.

Much of what we do is led by our students who aspire to follow the Outdoor Pursuits values:

All members of Outdoor Pursuits should demonstrate:

• Honesty and trustworthiness • Integrity and resilience in the face of adversity • Due consideration for personal safety and the safety of others • Care for personal and group equipment • Compassion and consideration for others • Good use of his or her time

Student leaders will be expected to follow the oath of leadership at all times:

On my honour I promise, To lead with integrity, honesty and trustworthiness, To set an example in all that I do, To take care of my peers and those around me And to uphold the values of the group.
