The Fine Interiors auction contents span a number of collecting categories and range across several centuries: from early oak furniture and objects, to English and Continental furniture, silver and paintings dating from the 16th to early 20th centuries.
The auction commences with Cherry Barker - Collecting the English Vernacular comprising over 100 lots (lots 1-114), it includes paintings and prints featuring equestrian, sporting and country pursuits themes, needlework and samplers, silhouettes, Staffordshire porcelain and early oak, pine and walnut furniture and objects. Cherry Barker was a former actress and model and the collection was assembled for the country home she shared with her husband, Peter, in Wiltshire. In the late 1940s Cherry acted alongside British cinema stars such as Michael Wilding, Anna Neagle and Stewart Granger. She later was to forge a highly successful career through her appearances in many TV and print advertisements.
