Message of friendship orchestrated for DPWMD Mirabelle Chernick and Alyssa Cancio

As the bell rings and school comes to an end, students rush to gather musical equipment for that day’s rehearsal, another part of the hustle and bustle in preparing for the 8th annual Daniel Pearl World Music Day. “Last year, we needed more rehearsals,” music teacher Wes Hambright said. “This year, we have more rehearsals for longer periods of time. The entire rehearsal process is after school so missed classes don’t affect grades.”

Daniel Pearl World Music Day (DPWMD), an international musical event occurring in over 140 countries, honors journalist Daniel Pearl’s heroism and celebrates ideals of peace and tolerance.

It annually takes place in the month of journalist Daniel Pearl’s birthday, October. This year, it’s seeing new changes to make sure all the songs are fresh and every performer is at the same level. While the theme of world peace has always been the central focus each year, this year’s DPWMD is specifically recognizing the value of friendship through the chosen songs.

“Friendship is a big word,” junior Taylor Devlugt said. “It’s a very good theme because it unites all of us. That’s how we continue to grow.”

Devlugt, one among many first-time performers, will sing “I’ll Be There” by Michael Jackson and “Are You Gonna Go My Way” by Lenny Kravitz. She believes experiences like this are a great opportunity to learn from since she wants to become a singer. Other than school, Devlugt practices at home to make any adjustments to her tempo and because of this, has

Retired choir teacher Marsha Taylor volunteered to assist in vocal performance, just as she did in years past.

With the choir now participating in eight to nine songs, as opposed to last year’s five songs, a greater emphasis is placed on the collective voice rather than individual voices. The choir’s main goal is to improve on creating more harmony.

Along with an international greeting, a total of 14 songs will be played, 10 of which the band will perform in. In between every three songs, junior Amanda Jimenez

will present poems from singer Princess Nokia and actor Charlie Chaplin. Senior and Student Body President Dean Khazanov will be the master of ceremonies.

Junior C.J. Posis will perform a Tagalog song while playing the guitar and sophomore Olivia Bullock will perform two Klezmer pieces on the violin, a popular style of music to the Jewish culture.

“Really any kind of music can be appreciated by people around the world,” Bullock said. “Music can bring people together in this way and I think that’s really beautiful.”

Oct. 25, with three shows during the day for all students. The actual event will take place on Oct. 26 with a performance in the evening at 7 p.m., which Dr. Judea and Ruth Pearl will attend.

“I want the audience to be happy and think about some of the messages that were emphasized,” Hambright said. “They should leave the hall feeling better about society than they felt coming in. More optimistic and positive.”

Once in lifetime ‘Hamilton’ performance for students Julissa Rangel Staff Writer

Sitting only five yards away from the cast members of one of the decade’s most successful musicals isn’t something many juniors in high school can say they’ve done.

Earlier within the fall semester, students enrolled in U.S. history were required to participate in a project called the Hamilton Education Initiative or EduHam. They could either work individually or in a group to produce and present a creative sketch that captured a historical event or figure of the Hamilton era.

The projects required analyzation of primary sources as well as songs from the play, in order to give proper insight to the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton.

In return, EduHam provided students with free admission to the live performance of Lin Manuel-Miranda’s Broadway hit “Hamilton: An American Musical” on Oct. 12.

On the day of the event, 80 formally-dressed students from Daniel Pearl Magnet High School arrived at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood and received news

Following the student performances, there was a brief Q-and-A with cast members Isaiah Johnson (George Washington), Jeffery Duffy (ensemble), Andrew Wojtal (ensemble), Jennifer Locke (ensemble) and Raven Thomas (Angelica Schuyler). It was

an intimate look into the lives and careers of the actors that the 2,600 students in attendance would never otherwise get to see.

“It’s important to see people on stage and in the media,” said cast member Raven Thomas. “It’s important to see that people are equally represented.”

After lunch, students were treated to the performance, which was exhilarating, to say the least. Everything was conducted beautifully: the music, the lighting, the choreography, everything about the play was alluring.

The emotion expressed, the passion that went into the actors’ performances and the enthusiasm of the audience was beyond captivating. Throughout the entire performance, the only thing that came to mind was how incredibly lucky I was to resonate with such a racially diverse cast and play. American history never has nor will ever have the same effect on me, or anyone else who attended the play I’m sure, after the performance.

Junior Emely Felix was selected to recite her poem on former first lady Abigail Adams onstage at the Pantages Theatre before “Hamilton: An American Musical” on Oct. 12.

Q: How did it feel to perform?

A:“I was nervous at first but after a while it was empowering and I love the feeling of just going on stage.”

Q: Why did you choose to write about Abigail Adams?

A: “Since a lot of people don’t know about her, I wanted to have an opportunity for people to know who Abigail Adams was and what she’s done.”

Q: How did you rehearse your poem?

A: “I practice in my room, over and over again, for probably an hour or two. Sometimes I usually record myself to look back on and see what’s good and what’s bad.”

Q: How did Get Lit help you prepare?

A: It helped me know how to perform and how I want to deliver the poem.

Q: What is your favorite part about performing?

A: “I love the crowd and how the school was cheering for me. That was an amazing feeling. I also enjoyed watching the student performers and their acts.”

Q: What do you hope the audience felt while listening to your poem?

A: “I hope they felt admiration toward Abigail Adams and appreciate her for what she’s done. I heard that people did get a lot from my poem and they know who Abigail Adams is after my poem, so that’s an awesome thing.”

Teaching journalism for seven years and being involved in the field for even longer, Tracie Savage is able to offer a deeper insight into the aspects of journalism that high school courses typically don’t cover.

Savage, the professor of Journalism 100, is a familiar face in Los Angeles. She spent 30 years in broadcast media, including on NBC4, and has loved every minute of it. Her passion for the profession is beneficial to those in her class, as she gives tips, advice and warnings only someone familiar with the field would be able to share.

“It’s wonderful to me to be able to share my experience and my knowledge of the profession with potential future journalists,” Savage said. “I feel very lucky that I’m able to teach a subject that I’ve loved and been so passionate about.”

Savage teaches full time at Pierce College but additionally makes her way to Daniel Pearl Magnet on Mondays and Wednesdays to teach highschool students here as well. The journalism class covers all the different types of mass media, such as radio, newspaper, motion pictures, magazines, public relations, advertising and the internet.

“She’s a really nice professor and re ally engaging,” senior David Palacios said.

“She actually has experience in the field of journalism and news.”

Club Corner:

A voice for the LGBTQ community Angel Van Horn

Staff Writer

Students within the LGBTQ community are given a safe and inclusive environment with the support of Pride Club.

“Pride Club helps its students have a safe space on campus to be themselves, whether or not they’re out,” freshman Lou Pendergrass said.

Established this year, Lou Pendergrass promotes Pride Club for students on campus who identify themselves as members of the LGBTQ community. The primary goal of the club is to raise awareness among peers and provide an open resource for anyone looking for it.

Meetings are held every Monday in Room 7, and typically consist of a small group of students pitching ideas on ways to enhance the club, attract more members and raise money.

This semester, a major focus for the club is fundraising for activities and different opportunities to learn more about the LGBTQ community. Pendergrass is already

planning an upcoming field trip to Models of Pride, a LGBTQ Convention held in USC. Although it was originally created as a safe space for LGBTQ students, the club invites anyone to participate and become an ally.

“The main goal of Pride Club is to promote acceptance of the LGBTQ community on campus and to create an uplifting space for LGBT people at our school,” Pendergrass said.

So far, members have been open to sharing new ideas and taking advice from others. As the club earns more funding and members, Pendergrass hopes to purchase club t-shirts, have more field trips and become a safe haven for students to vent and express themselves.

“We get to do great activities, we get to support our friends and our friends get to support us,” freshman Chelsea Bangert said.

Students take a seat during morning pledge

Sophomore Bianca Lam understands the reason why some people are protesting during the singing of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at football events but she still believes it is disrespectful to kneel.

She sees this ritual as a way to honor veterans, such as her uncle.

“The U.S. flag is symbolic of all of its history,” sophomore athlete Bianca Lam said. “Not necessarily the bad, but also the good.”

Since last year, football player Colin Kaepernick began kneeling during the national anthem to protest the ongoing racism in the country. According to the Sept.

24 article “Trump responds to: Standing with locked arms is good, kneeling is not acceptable” published by CNN, Kaepernick said “I’m not going to stand up to show

pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”

The protests among NFL athletes have spread to schools where students hold their own silent protest, protected by the First Amendment, during the morning “Pledge of Allegiance” by remaining in their seats.

“I sit during the pledge,” sophomore Marjina Haque said. “I don’t respect the face of America and the American government and their principles and the discrimination they face all Americans with.”

As the football season began this year, players from across the country have knelt, locked arms or stayed in locker rooms as the national anthem played.

President Donald Trump, disgusted by this gesture continued to criticize the players by making comments and poking fun mostly toward black athletes.

Trump went on a Twitter rampage

and attacked the NFL players because they “disrespect our flag.” He was furious and wanted all NFL protesters to be fired.

As a response, professional athletes such as Devin McCourty, from the New England Patriots, began to kneel throughout the following games. Later on in the day, Trump claimed that his comments didn’t involve race. He was mad because their actions caused “bad ratings” and showed disrespect to our country according to the Sept. 24 article “As Trump continues his attacks, NFL players protest by kneeling or locking arms” published by the Los Angeles Times.

“We hate that people are going to see it as that we don’t respect the military and the men and women that are way braver than us that go and put their life on the line every day for us. …” McCourty said.

“But, we just wanted to send a message of unity and being together and not standing

for the disrespect and different ways guys felt.”

Although NFL players play a big role in thelives of young people, some students still stick to their own beliefs. They practice their First Amendment rights by speaking their minds.

“I stand because I respect my country,” sophomore athlete Olivia Bullock said. “It shows me that people will really never be satisfied even when people are really trying to make this place better or when people sacrifice themselves to have us be free that’s never going to be good enough for them.”

Controversial protest takes a stand in classrooms Pro: “I sit because I lost respect for this country.”

I’ve stood up for the pledge of allegiance every morning since kindergarten, but this changed in November 2016.

Due to the recent events such as the Sandra Bland case, the woman who was brutally arrested by cops two summers ago, the Charlottesville riots and the election of Donald Trump, standing up for the pledge has turned into a rebellion and political statement.

I’ve lost respect for this country after the election, standing for the pledge has transformed from an obligation to a refusal.

On Sept. 11, Trump tweeted “I would like to extend my best wishes to all, even the haters and losers, on this special date, September 11th.” This proved that someone as childish and disrespectful Trump as, was granted the power to make decisions for this country.

People who oppose the protest accuse the protesters of being unpatriotic, but voting for someone who will destroy other countries as well as the one we call

The movement started with athletes, the majority of them being African-American, kneeling for the national anthem instead of standing. This movement angered predominantly white coaches and sports organizations who considered this act of protest “unpatriotic.”

It all starts with one person who makes the decision to remain seated during the national anthem which will lead to the realization of others that praising America for its recent wrongdoings makes no sense.

Colin Kaepernick, a quarterback for the 49ers, began to sit during the national anthem in honor of African-Americans in this country who have been victims of social injustices and police brutality. However, starting in September of last year, he made his statement a lot more bold by kneeing during the national anthem.

Resisting the sudden urge to stand for the pledge due to the many years of being told to do so has been a challenge to easily overcome, even after being told to do so since kindergarten. The obligation to stand is no longer an option. This action of a small protest is for the sake of the race I identify with, black, being oppressed in this nation and the other half, white, being the oppressors.

Exercising the First Amendment shouldn’t be considered an act of treason.

Not standing for the pledge shouldn’t be considered “disrespectful” and kneeling for the national anthem shouldn’t get a football player benched.

Remain seated, kneel or stand. It’s your choice.

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America…”

These 12 words, recited so patriotically for previous centuries, have now become synonymous with the contentious political climate of today. To me, this is where the real issue stems from.

The Pledge of Allegiance is a declaration in support of liberty. That is, the freedom of equal opportunity, not the equality of outcome.

Last year, about half the class reluctantly stood for the pledge while the remaining half snickered on with disgust.

Today, those students, now narrowed down to a mere two, leap to their feet and faithfully reassert their respect for the country.

In other words, regardless of race, class and creed, individuals residing in this country have opportunities and choices.

I recognize that there are legitimate claims that directly contradict my own- a freedom we enjoy as a result our predecessor’s sweat, blood and tears but the fact that we students are even granted

the power of choice in this matter is precisely why we should all honor the pledge.

“Why should I stand for a country that doesn’t support my rights?” said freshman Lou Pendergrass, who doesn’t stand.

And I answer, the concept of respecting the pledge should not be looked at in terms of black and white. Buried beneath the abundance of debates, defiant actions and political correctness, there is a need for unity, especially in the tumultuous political climate of today. As John F. Kennedy once wisely preached, “United there is little we cannot do. Divided there is little we can do.”

“I stand and say the pledge because I respect the country and I think that everybody is losing faith right now, so I stand as a sign of hope,” junior Tabitha Quiroz said.

Yes, individuals are oppressed, sometimes through no fault of their own.

However, at the same time, there are so many privileges, as represented through our Constitution that are granted simply by living in America. It’s more than clear that our country is not without its faults, yet the only way to improve is to acknowledge, honor and protect what is just about America.

To those individuals who refuse to stand because they disagree with the principles of America, then stand and pay homage to what you believe America should be.

Then, as the last echoes of the morning pledge recede, go back to debating for change influenced by that promised foundation of our American flag.

“Students have a responsibility to honor the nation through the Pledge of Allegiance,” biology teacher Jim Morrison said.

“Yeah, because there aren’t a lot of vegans at school but it would be good to have vegan choices aside from the regular food,” freshman Petra Vass said.

“I think it’s a good idea because my friend’s vegetarian and she brings food from home just in case she can’t eat the lunch,” sophomore Alyanna Ahorro said.

“Only if the demand is high enough,” junior Adrian Contreras said. ”Otherwise, I don’t see a reason in wasting even more of the school’s budget on a select few students.”

Current meal plan lacks student vegan options Angie Rumbo

With veganism becoming an increasingly popular lifestyle choice among students, schools should accommodate to this need with a wider meal selection.

Vegan teenagers make up 0.5% of the world’s population. Yet vegan school lunches aren’t being offered in the school’s current meal plan. Vegans don’t consume meat, dairy, eggs or any sort of animal by-products. Some even choose to not wear clothes made out of animal fur/ leather or use products tested on animals.

Due to this increase of veganism among the Los Angeles Unified School District students, the school board approved the Healthy Freedom campaign pilot program to begin this school year in early May. This campaign is aimed to include a vegan entree and non-dairy beverage alternative to the menu. The program should be expanded due to all the positive feedback it’s been getting.

Sure, the Meatless Monday program was introduced to us in 2013; it included food options such as yogurt, salads with cheese or pizza. However, this measure was directed more toward vegetarians rather than vegans because everything had dairy in it.

the schools are North Hollywood, Phineas Banning, Crenshaw, Fairfax, Huntington Park, Theodore Roosevelt and Sylmar High Schools. Options range from veggie burgers, to “sausage” subs. At Daniel Pearl Magnet High School, we are only given a vegan chili option almost every Monday.

Some weeks, it’s not even offered at all.

“I don’t know why they just do it that day. They should have something without meat everyday,” cafeteria manager Kathy Mrasz said.

The feedback for other school’s vegan options have been positive and even non-vegan students enjoy it. So why aren’t we getting all the options daily? It’s because many believe it’s a waste of money since there aren’t enough vegans and vegetarians on campus. None of that should matter because everyone should have the option to have lunch at school everyday.

Taking a lunch to school can be a hassle and often students forget to bring it or don’t have time to prepare it in the mornings. This especially affects those who are vegan or vegetarian since they have no food option available to them at the school cafeteria.

With veganism and vegetarianism growing, it’s important to support the diet and lifestyle that is animal free and ensure that all students are able to have a meal during school.

This problem isn’t on the minds of students from New York or Tennessee due to new adjustments. New York started the Excelsior scholarship which qualifies families making up to $125,000 per year to attend college tuition-free at all public twoand four-year colleges in New York State.

The Tennessee Promise is, “funded by proceeds from our state lottery,” said Don Johnson, the Director of Constituent Services & Community Relations at the Office of Governor Bill Haslam, in an interview.

“Since 2004, the lottery has provided merit-based HOPE Scholarships for graduating students seeking a 4-year degree, but there were additional funds accumulating that gave us the opportunity to make this investment to ensure that all of our students had an opportunity to earn the degree or certification that is vital in today’s economy.”

California is in the process of establishing AB 19, the California Promise, introduced by Assembly members Kevin Mccarty, Miguel Santiago, and David Chiu on Dec. 5, 2016. The bill will waive the fees for one academic year at any community college for first time students taking 12 or

more units.

Cities in California already have bills like this in place and the response has been, overall, positive and many believe it, “will encourage more students to choose the community college transfer pathway as a major cost saving option toward getting a bachelor’s degree,” said Sunday Salters, Transfer Director at Los Angeles Pierce College, in an interview. “It will also open up doors to students who were planning on going straight to work out of high school to go to college and get a certificate or an associate’s degree first.”

Students must apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid but don’t need to qualify to get the California Promise. The Promise also caters to residents and undocumented students, but some still have concerns regarding the bill.

“I do not see the purpose of paying for students whose families can afford the cost of Community College.” said Linda Zimring, member of the Advisory Board of The National Research Center for College & University Admissions, in an interview. “For a family with low income, and a student who is ready to begin a four-year college, I would prefer to see part of the AB 19 budget spent on those kinds of students going directly to a four-year public university.”

Demogorgons, new characters and Eleven’s return from the Upside Down will premiere on Oct. 27 with Netflix’s Original Series “Stranger Things” second season.

In the first season, Will (Noah Schnapp) is abducted by a Demogorgon after racing Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) on his bike. Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and the rest of his crew are in a desperate search to find Will, but instead they find Eleven (Millie

Bobby Brown). They later find out Eleven has telekinesis-like powers, but she then disappears when fighting the Demogorgon to save the group from harm using her last bit of strength.

In the upcoming season, two new characters that have been getting much attention from fans are expected to enter the show. The new characters include Sadie Sink as Max, Dacre Montgomery as Billy and Sean Astin as Bob Newby.

Eleven will return with a different attitude and hairstyle. A plot line with an

emphasis on action and adventure are expected in season two.

“I think that the first season is explaining how everything in the show works and about getting to know the characters,” junior Dylan Santos said. “But the second season is more about getting a deeper understanding of the lives of the characters.”

The new season will stream on Netflix on Oct. 27 with the first episode titled “Madmax.”

Following “The Life of Pablo,” comes “Turbo Grafx 16,” the leaked title for West’s eighth studio album named after one of West’s favorite gaming systems.

In the past few months, West has been seen at an undisclosed studio in Los Angeles with other artists such as Kid Cudi and Migos. Additionally, West and Cudi have traveled to Japan to collaborate with contemporary artist Takashi Murakami to work on the project.

Lady Patriots get served near season end

From the first sound of the whistle to the feeling of despair at the end of the game, the Lady Patriots try to find a way to get at least one win in their volleyball division.

“I was hoping that because it was a new team that we would be able to work together and have better chemistry,” sophomore middle blocker Keona Paniagua said.

With the Lady Patriots season coming to an end next week, they face the possibility of repeating last season when they held a record of 16 losses.

However, this season the Lady Patriot’s odds don’t look as promising. Currently the team is on a 13 game losing streak, losing every game they’ve played. The team’s hopes were further crushed as they lost their Senior Night game against Granada Hills Charter High School on Oct. 17, with a score of 0-3. With one more game to be played on Oct. 23, the team is hopeful that they’ll end with at least a couple of wins.

“I wasn’t expecting too good of a season, but I also didn’t expect us to not win at least one game,” Junior Audree Alaras said.

Q: What inspired you to play tennis?

A: I really just wanted to join a sport.

Q: What is your biggest accomplishment?

A: I won my first match. It was amazing I was very proud of myself. My coach was very proud of me.

Q: Do you plan on playing tennis after high school?

A: I plan on playing tennis leisurely. I don’t want to play it as a career.

Q: What struggles have you’ve been able to overcome?

A: Low confidence. I have been surrounded by players who are really good. I was very insecure.

Q: How do you manage playing tennis while keeping your grades up?

A: It’s all about time management.

When I get home I unwind but, then i go straight into doing homework and completing assignments.

Q: Why do you like basketball?

A: It’s really fast-paced and the action never ceases.

Q: How long have you played basketball?

A: Since I was 5, so about 10 years.

Q: How do you manage your time between school and sports?

A: I try to do my homework either before practice or immediately after. It’s challenging sometimes.

Q: Do you see yourself pursuing a career in basketball? Why or why not?

A: Probably not directly as a player.

Maybe as a coach or reporter; something like that.

Q: Would you encourage other people to play basketball?

A: I would because it’s a good way to keep yourself in shape and spend time with your friends.

Q: Who’s your favorite player and why?

A: My favorite player is Kyle Kuzma because we play in a similar way and he’s on the Lakers so that’s always a plus.

Q: What’s your fondest memory of playing basketball?

A: A few years ago, I hit a game-winning shot and my teammates stockpiled me for it.

When they first heard that their homecoming was going to be held at another school, Birmingham Community Charter High School students were furious. But earlier this month, it was announced that homecoming would be held on their own turf on Oct. 27.

“Yes, homecoming is back at Birmingham High School. The parade will be at 6:30 and the game will be at 7,” Sports Director Rick Prizant said.

The game was originally scheduled to be played on Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. against Cleveland Charter High School.

Students believed that not hosting such a passionate event on their home field would ruin the atmosphere of the event, significantly reducing the hype that usually surrounds the homecoming game.

“I was so mad when I heard homecoming wasn’t going to be at Birmingham,” junior and varsity football player, Kyle Matson said. “I remember just sitting there thinking like why would they be okay with that, the homecoming game means a lot.”

As the school planned to have a refurbishment of the turf, homecoming was not expected to be played at home. Due to a last minute decision, it was determined that any renovations to field would be held off until after the homecoming game.

“Homecoming has always been special,” varsity football player Dean Khazanov said. “It’s so much more than setting up for the dance the following day, it’s the event that ties Birmingham together.”

Golfers swing into a whole new season Christine Valenzuela

The Birmingham Patriots’ athletic skills progress as they swing into a whole new golf season.

“Two weeks ago, Astrid shot the best score from about 40 golfers,” Coach Kevin Kelly said. “This was a thrilling development as she had never held a golf club before last year.”

This is Kelly’s 12th year coaching the team. The coaching methods of Kelly, coupled with the girls’ desire to improve, has allowed the team to steadily polish their performance.

The Birmingham Community Charter High School girls golf team endures extensive practice, training three times a week at the driving range and putting green.

“When I’m at Van Nuys golf course I focus on my swing,” senior Maria Danon said. “Since there are different kinds of golf clubs, I have to adjust how I swing each one of them.”

Unlike other sports teams, mem-

bers of the golf team compete individually. The girls are placed with students from other schools to compete against each other. On Oct. 5, however, the Patriots placed first, competing against five teams in the league. As each player is scored individually, no participant truly loses.

With two more weeks left of golf season, the Patriots give it their all. Juniors Astrid Cabrera, Lauryn Uhlenberg and Bella Feinstein of Daniel Pearl Magnet High School are currently on the team. This is senior Maria Danan’s final year on the team.

“I think my team will do good in the upcoming game because we always give our best,” Danan said.

Throughout the season the golf team will be matched against various schools such as El Camino Real High School and Sylmar High School. Matches are scheduled for every Thursday with the next match scheduled for Oct.19 with the last match played on Oct. 26.

Adventures await in Fire Emblem Warriors Steven Guzman

Worlds from the “Fire Emblem” franchise join forces in Nintendo’s upcoming “Fire Emblem Warriors.”

The game takes place in the kingdom of Aytolis, where twin prince and princess Rowan and Lianna face danger when the Gates of the Other World open and evil forces enter their realm.

With the kingdom in trouble, the twins journey to different worlds to gather allies in order to save their kingdom.

Gameplay will revolve around attacking hordes of enemies with attack combos and critical hits. Four characters can be chosen for each map and the player can switch from character to character during gameplay.

The other three characters not being controlled will be set to AI (Artificial Intelligence). Characters will be able to grow bonds with each other, similar to the support system seen in previous games.

Players can chose to play in classic mode or casual mode. Classic mode includes the perma-death system, where characters can die in battle and are no longer playable.

Casual mode cuts the perma-death system. allowing characters who fall in battle to be playable again once the level is completed.

Downloadable content (DLC) will be available for purchase through a season pass or through separate purchase after the game is released. Amiibo figures will also be available, which can be used to receive extra content for characters.

“Fire Emblem Warriors” will be available for both the New Nintendo 3DS for $39.99 and the Nintendo Switch for $59.99 on Oct. 20.

Becoming a top free app in the Google Play and App Store, Sarahah has been a craze with its anonymous messaging social network.

Sarahah allows people to send and receive honest criticism from one another while keeping their identity hidden.

The app was developed last November by Saudi-Arabian developer Zain alAbidin Tawfiq.

Sarahah features a message box, a search box to look people up and additional features such as a heart to favorite messages, a flag for inappropriate messages and a block option.

People use the app to know what others think of them and to express their

thoughts about other people without feeling afraid.

User profiles are accessible to others people through a hyperlink. Many teenagers paste the link in their social media accounts so that fellow Sarahah users and followers know where to leave a message.

With the anonymous function and open access, it brings up issues like cyber bullying. To deal with this, the flag and block options ensure a positive and friendly environment.
